Kedarnath is one of the most revered shrines in India. It forms part of the chota Char Dham yatra (popularly known as Char Dham yatra) in Uttarakhand which holds great significance for Hindus all across the globe. Located in the Rudraprayad district in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal region, Kedarnath has a spectacular backdrop. It is one of the best Shiva temples in India and attracts a huge number of devotees every year. Nestled between snow-clad peaks near the head of the Mandakini river, Kedarnath is one of the twelve jyotirlingas of Shiva. The chota Char Dham yatra is an important pilgrimage for Hindus and is said to wash away their sins. It consists of a visit to the four revered shrines of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in Uttarakhand.
