Capstone Research: Flying like Peter Pan
Similar to that like birds, the story of Peter Pan being a boy of freedom and adventure is one that is engraved in our minds as an essential piece of study we all learn to understand life's need of growing up. This is useful for my project as shows a fantasy can be so beautiful yet tragic.

Capstone Active: Falling High
Tumblr media
An evocative progress piece of the emotion I want to portray in my work. Simple yet meaningful. How does this make viewers feeling knowing she's in a far far place in her own world? in her own path? Simply trying to find her place...

Capstone Active: Freedom in the Sky
Adopting a minimalistic approach, these pieces serve as building blocks for the overarching narrative of my project. The serene expanse of the sky, untethered by the constraints of the ground, mirrors the boundless possibilities explored in my quest for personal growth and the search for home. The sublime freedom that the skies offer give viewers a glimpse of the dialogue of my piece, the universal quest for meaning and freedom.

Capstone Active: The Journey of Life
An auditory and visual experience of the world around us. Encompasses the philosophical and meaningful approach I want my work to give. I have created this with parallel themes of the complexities of human existence and philosophical implications. It also shows the depth in which I seek to convey in my capstone. It emotional resonance, philosophical reflections, and human connection support the tangible and interactive elements in this evocative exploration of human experience.

Capstone Active : Simulation Practice Progress
This is something I have been personally working with that inspired my work throughout this time. As I am training to be a pilot and know that the auditory, visual, and sensorial simulation training teaches through both a full immersive and emotional space.
it is part of training bc it evokes the feelings that one needs to be prepared to encounter later on so I created simulations for my models to work in as a prepratory progress piece.

Capstone Research: Auditory Dev
youtube
This piece reflects what it feels like to be in a new warm place one could call home. I believe this is relevant to my capstone as it evokes the emotion I want my work to share through an auditory form instead of just visual.

Capstone Active: The Feeling of Serenity
As another experiment in composition, this week I worked on evoking different feelings through various moments with both auditory and visual forms. The process was fairly simple but allowed me to see what was visually appealing and matched up best. This process is useful to Capstone as it helps me use different software and tinker with different layouts.

Capstone Research: Gladys Ingle
Historical Importance in Aviation and Design
her bravery and spirit guided her from racing to the skies. She was a daredevil and quickly earned her pilot license, making her the fourth woman in the US to do so. She was even able to do repairs on planes mid air, adding to her daring bravery.

Capstone Research: Order in the Chaos
youtube
the way in which aviation is portrayed in films is always one of beauty and elegance.
In this film, this was a crucial scene that shows the every day life of travel and of this airport employee yet his philosophical take and words give it so much more meaning and elaboration on what can be said about life. His quote about "its a game to find order in the chaos" was something that truly relates to the overall message of my piece, showing that is all about the journey.
Even the way the scene of the landing plane shows how small we are in such a big world, with everyone doing their own little thing. We all somehow are working together but as individuals worried so much about our own worlds.

Capstone Research: Relation to Self
youtube
discusses the creation of a persona and you as an individual in a vast sea of people with no comparison and brining your own self to the table.
This talks about the ongoing journey of self-discovery and creative expression. With my project being an artistic exploration and technologically integrated story, it shows the continuous exploration of creativity leading to meaningful outcomes.

Narrative Inspiration - exploring the storytelling elements within the lyrics and instrumental composition
Can I draw parallels between the lyrical themes and the narrative I want to convey? Even the use of time signatures, tempo changes, and overall pacing plays with the enhancement of the viewer's experience.

Capstone Research: Putting it all together
The creation of a cinematographic piece that encompasses the emotional and philosophical search for finding home. Being on a journey of feeling lost and not having a place I can settle down yet to truly call my home, I have been finding comfort in the instability of the journey. The traveling around as a nomad and not having a stable base place has left me creating nooks in places i have never been and know nothing about. By learning about places as I go, learning to be okay and loving being up in the air more than on the ground has been a part of my journey that I want to share.
Using contemporary artists and visual design/engineering, I was able to create an emotive piece.

CAPSTONE RESEARCH: Where is Home? Discussion
Iyer speaks of where we refer our homes to be and emotional attachment to spaces. He discusses how many cities, such as Toronto, Canada, have a massive "diversive" foreign population that have residents referring to these places as their home even though ethnically they are not from these cities. His talk touches on how individuals navigate identity and belonging in a globalized world. This relates to my capstone progress as I am diving into the emotional and philosophical aspects of what it means to belong and fid a sense of home.
Iyer defines home as the place in which you take for granted.
