What You Need to Know About the XBox 360, the Kinect, and a Review of All Kinect Games
A NEW WAY TO GAME! IS THE XBOX 360 KINECT THE RIGHT NEXT GADGET FOR YOU?
There are a plethora of game systems and games out there. Why should you consider the xBox 360 and the new Kinect? What will the Kinect do for you? Some have claimed it will change your life, will it do that? What games are available for the Kinect and do they really work well enough to justify the cost, the time, and the trouble? Is there enough variety to suit your needs?
Tumblr media
This article will give the positives and negatives of the xBox 360 and the new Kinect. What can be accomplished with this system and why consider getting a Kinect for yourself and your family? How well does it work?
Let's start with a little bit of history xBox 360 for you. If you will go way back in your mind and remember that the xBox 360 is a sixth generation video game by Microsoft. This group of games was known as the 128-bit era game consoles. The xBox was actually released November 2001. However, the xBox 360 is the second video game console produced by Microsoft (the first was the xBox). It now competes well with the Sony's PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii, as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles, the xBox 360 was the first of that creative age introducing HD and 1080p into the game playing mix in November 2005.
The xBox 360 was officially unveiled on television. The announcement was on MTV in 2005. Coming up to more modern time the xBox 360 was known as the xBox 360 S, but now we just call it the xBox 360. The consoles have been redesigned, as well as the hardware, and that innovation was officially announced in June 2010. And word is that Microsoft has announced, covertly, that if they ever (and with their current popularity I'm sure they will) come out with another console as a successor to the xBox 360 S it will be simply called xBox 720. The initial rumors are very intriguing.
The second edition of the xBox 360, which included 4 GB of storage, was a prelude to the current box. The xBox 360 Elite came out middle of 2010. But with the avalanche of new games being designed and released it pressured Microsoft to upgrade their hardware.
Isn't that always the case with hardware and software? It goes like this: Software becomes more complicated and needs faster processors, larger computers and capacity. And so the hardware designers and manufacturers have to race to keep up. It's the same with the gaming genre. Try playing Halo Reach on your old xBox. It's not happening.
Thus in August of 2010 Microsoft announced that they had a mega model, a 250 GB stand-alone hard drive for use with the xBox 360 S models, and that would be priced initially at $129.99.
The features of each of these models and core systems are interesting, but it is beyond the scope of this review. The remarkable features, capabilities and the capacities of the devices improved with each progressive model. Microsoft became one of the big guns in the gaming console market and will remain there with this system.
This past Christmas buying season of 2010, the xBox 360 was bundled for better consumer purchasing power, which, among others, featured the Limited Edition, as well as some of the more popular games such as the Halo Reach, Call of Duty Black Ops, and other special features including wireless remotes controllers and head-sets.
The online service is called xBox Live. This is a worldwide service that allows users to play with and against other online players or download purchased content, experience new games and it also offers movies, game trailers, game demos that can be played for a short trial period encouraging the user to then go on to purchase the full game.
There are xBox Live arcade games, images, dashboard themes as well. Through xBox Live, a person can discover new undiscovered content. There are Gold Memberships, which allows you to purchase Microsoft Points to use for downloads avatars and add-ons or additions to your current games. Those prepaid cards come in 400, 800, 1600, 4000, and 6000 point denominations for an equivalent amount of money.
I will reveal some interesting details about the negative attributes of the xBox and xBox 360. It may be a surprise to a newbie, thinking that there were not any negatives. But there are...or were.
It seems that the console can be subject to a number of technical problems. Users have reported concerns over its reliability and alarming failure rate in the older models. That led Microsoft to extend the xBox 360 S warranty to three years for hardware failure problems. Users were getting the dreaded red ring of death and a message announcing general hardware failure.

Electric Skateboard - The Next Generation of Alternative Transportation?
Two years ago I saw something on the net that totally changed my life!
A video about electric skateboards. Since then I have had at least 3 different boards, which is as much a tribute to how much I love these babies. But unfortunately as it is to their biggest weakness, they break easily. But I still keep purchasing new ones or buying parts for the old ones.
Tumblr media
"The electric skateboard was invented by Californian Louis Finkle. Louis made the first analogue electric skateboard in 1993. It then took seven years to make it to production, and thirteen years later it has yet to reach the tipping point where we currently stand on the verge of mass popularity of electric skateboards".
So what is so great about a electric skateboard?
They're extremely fast. We are talking 20-25 mph and more. Beware!!! Besides being fast, it's incredible FUN!!!
Instead of taking a car for short trips, I now glide my way to the newspaper stand and back.
It feels like you are flying extremely low. When you zoom around you tend to look forward (obviously), meaning you never see your feet. It somehow feels like your gliding 6 inches off the pavement.
The range is also quite decent. The furthest I got was a 14 mile ride. After wards the battery needed a full charge up.
You control the board with a pistol grip controller that controls the acceleration and regenerative braking. It is pretty easy to ride a electric skateboard even if you have never ridden a skateboard before. If you ask me, it is a lot easier than a regular skateboard as you always have both feet on the deck.
The only drawbacks of the electric skateboard are that they break fairly easily and go slowly up hills. The brand I recommend, E-Glide, has a good warranty. 90 day warranty on the board and electronics. 6 month battery warranty.
There are 2 companies who make these boards: Altered, formerly known as Exkate, and E-Glide. Altered boards have a cool wireless controller, but the boards are made in China and the customer support is not the best.
E-Glide, on the other hand are very dedicated and care what they are selling. They concentrate on only using top of the range components to build their electric skateboards. Furthermore they are the only electric skateboard company who doesn't import premade powerboards from China.
I personally ride the E-Glide "44 Magnum" a Madrid board designed by Crossbow USA. Lots of concave, and beautiful lines. At 44 inches in length, it is a Ferrari among electric skateboards.

HoverBoards Take The World By Storm
The History of HoverBoards
First appearing on our screens in the 1980s, what is the best hoverboard to buy. It's magical ability to seamlessly take you from one place to another, completely unhindered by the surface over which you travel. Seeing Marty McFly hover over a pond on a childs converted scooter sparked something in everyone, people started to consider it as possible. It's only right that in 2015 we have come a step closer, as it is the year in the future Marty and the Professor visit.
Tumblr media
In 2015 (for real), hoverboards do actually exist! Don't get too excited, however... There does need to be a fair amount of things in place for it to 'hover', as such. Lexus famously made a hoverboard for their advert, as part of an ad series to do with technology. Their board needed a metal track to run above and a good serving of liquid nitrogen every now and then, it's not quite as practical as Marty's just yet. The other hoverboard being worked on (which actually hovers above the ground, anyway) is a bit better, needing only a metal skatepark to run above. Unfortunately, there is no way to control the direction of travel on this board, but it's a step in the right direction.
The hoverboards I am referring to is the 2 wheeled, self balancing kind. They were first seen in action at the Canton Fair in China, a popular technology fair which has lots of new and cool gadgets being shown off by their producers / inventors. Granted, it got a lot of attention, but clearly no-one quite knew what it was going to become. In the early months of 2015, they hit the Western world and exploded to fame with a few clever product placements. Justin Bieber and Chris Brown were seen with the boards, and the rest is history! IO HAWK, one of the original importers of the hoverboard, had sent a board or 2 to Justin and his clan completely free of charge, which has since paid itself off quite nicely.
Justin Bieber had one, so everyone else had to as well. Naturally, the viral nature of the Segway Board caused the popularity of it to skyrocket. It was on everyone who was anyone's snapchat story and Instagram page. If you didn't have a hoverboard, you were lagging behind, which of course meant good things for the importers of the high in demand, short in supply people transporters. It was easy work for them, getting them in the country was the hardest task they faced.
As it was such easy work for such a great gain, hoverboard sales websites and pages sprung up everywhere. You could fill a dictionary with the names people were giving them - Scoot Boards, SwayBoards, BalanceFoots and most commonly, hoverboards, despite the clear fact that the wheels of them are firmly planted to the ground. The reason the name hoverboard became it's given name is due to the feeling a user gets when riding it, a 'hovering' sensation.
Where can I buy one?
As mentioned, the choices you have on where to get them are near enough endless. If you were to enquire into every seller of hoverboards you are in for a long evening! The main difference between the resellers are prices, varying from $300 to $1800. Price differences are often justified in many different ways, from claiming to have the fastest in the world or claiming their battery is more efficient than all others. In reality, every board is the same. There are sometimes aesthetic differences like wheels or casings, but they all come from the same factory. The differences in pricing are different size attempts at getting as big a markup as possible. You should aim to get as close to $300 as you can for the standard hoverboard, any lower it is possible you are being scammed (especially below $250) and any higher you are paying too much!
The best results I've had is with seller comparison websites, as they look at all the prices and safety of the hoverboard sellers, making sure the place is trusted and secure and looking out for the best deals. My recommendation is this cheapest hoverboards finder, as they have strong social media presence on Twitter and Instagram with a lot of history. Also, a lot of their links go to Amazon sellers, which are extremely well trusted. You can buy boards on there for as low as $300 and they have lots of different models to choose from.
