I know that a lot of people hate Tory and Caleb together (believe me, I do too), but I’m honestly glad that we got to see more of their friendship in book 8. Obviously they could have never worked out romantically, but reading about their friendship and how that platonic relationship developed was soo satisfying. I NEED more Caleb and Tory friendship moments in the next book, especially the light hearted moments.

Top 5 Halloween Horrors.

Autumn has finally arrived and with it we welcome the return of the cold days, the dark nights and bid farewell to the gloriously green trees and say hello to those Orange October leaves. As well as the change in the weather and the excuse to have pumpkin spice everything, October also brings with it Halloween.  

All Hallows’ Eve is the one time of year where everyone’s fears go out the window and instead they welcome the ghouls and ghosts from our nightmares and go as far as to dress up as them. But if you’re not the type to be playing dress up and partying over the Halloween period then don’t fear… there are plenty of spooky movies for you to scream over. 

 Here are my top 5 scary movies to keep you on your toes this month. 

 1. Mothers Day.

The sadistic members of a villainous family return to their childhood home to terrorize the new home owners and their guests.

With Rebecca De Mornay (The Hand That Rocks The Cradle) taking the lead in this sadistic tale of a Mother’s protection over her children, there’s plenty of blood and brutality. For those who aren’t a huge fan of horror but love a bit of drama, you will live for this tale of torture from the Director of three Saw films, Darren Lynn Bousman.

2. Final Destination 3 

A student’s premonition of a deadly rollercoaster ride saves her life and a lucky few, but not from Death itself, which seeks out those who escaped their fate.

With the back drop of a roller coaster, Final Destination 3 takes on the same storyline as the previous 2, and the rest that followed. A bunch of people die in the order they should have died in a roller coaster crash, if they hadn’t gotten off the ride. The Final Destination movies are typical, easy-to-watch horror-thrillers, jam packed with gory deaths and teen drama and the 3rd installment of the franchise just happens to be the best.

3. A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The spectre of a dead man haunts the children of the parents who murdered him, stalking and killing them in their dreams.

Freddy Kreuger, a demon with bladed fingers, haunts and taunts a group of teens to claim revenge on their parents who murdered him years before. 

You won’t sleep again after watching this nightmarish horror.. 

1…2…Freddy’s coming for you.

4. SAW 

Two strangers awaken in a room with no recollection of how they got there or why, and soon discover they are pawns in a deadly game perpetrated by a notorious serial killer.

With the 8th installment of the most successful horror franchise hitting cinema’s this month, what a better time to throwback to the first movie. Tensions fly high as two men wake up in a manky old bathroom with a dead body. Will they survive the Jigsaw killers game and make it out the bathroom alive….with or without both of their feet?…

5. Orphan

A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9 year-old girl who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be.

In this mystery-thriller, Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga adopt an orphaned 9 year old in an attempt to rebuild their marriage after the loss of their baby. But the plot quickly thickens as the broken wife soon notices that poor orphan Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman) brings with her disturbing and manipulating games that could damage her family even further.

I hope at least one of these films tickles your fancy this Halloween. If not, you can always watch Mean Girls instead…
