We live in the dumbest, lamest cyberpunk dystopia possible.
So LA has been — and continues to — protest against ICE. These protests haven’t gotten any smaller or lost any momentum, but social media wasn’t reflecting it.
TikTok users, realizing that the platform/other social media are censoring/deleting/shadowbanning these protest videos, decided to find a workaround.
They’re calling it the LA Music Festival. Ice detention centers and other protest locations are “stages.” The hottest band is Rage Against the Machine. “Here’s what gear you should be bringing to stay safe at the LA Music Festival.”
And it fucking worked.
TikTok has become a proving ground for a lot of new music, meaning lots of labels and organizations have lucrative deals with TikTok to promote their new artists and music festivals. So they absolutely cannot censor the words “music festival” or train the algorithm to ignore it, or they risk endangering that very important revenue.
So now protest videos are flooding feeds again, but it’s the LA 24/7 Music Festival. Truly an incredible timeline we’ve landed in.

concept for a tv show: a cute simple love story between an assistant and a chauffeur or bodyguard or whatever else rich people have and in the background the rich people are having the wildest telenovela level drama that we only catch glimpses of

What tumblr fails to grasp is that I’m not interested in community groups for the things I like because fans of my favorite things are often very wrong about them

Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

it’s necessary to fight back against adult content bans obviously because it leads to queer bans, but also, you cannot forget that we must fight back against these bans because adults have the right to make and enjoy adult content. no credit card company has the right to censor what we look at. yes, this includes the “problematic kinks” and stuff you think is gross and bad. just as we deserve to be openly queer online, we deserve to enjoy adult content without fear of total censorship, and it’s absurd how few places there are to do that online nowadays

when i was 14 i came out to a highschool teacher as transgender and i believe i was the first transgender person he ever talked to, and i suppose he panicked, because all he did was say "i think you should listen to little lion man by mumford and sons," and i did, and it changed my 14 year old mind, but i am still unsure what his intended message. he was cool with me being transgender though.
#ngl#if I met a young man who had not been socialized as a man for most of his life#I might also suggest Mumford and Sons#just as a starting place

I have learned all of these concepts independently over the course of the last 30+ years and OOOOOH BOI do they make a difference. Boiled down my organization style goes like this:
if it's used for something specific (wrapping paper, camping gear, etc) it can go where I can't see it, because I'll know it's something to look for.
If it's a standard item (food, tableware, books, etc) it goes "away" somewhere easy to access and close to where it is used so even if I forget to put it away, I can clear it up pretty quickly.
If it's a daily item (keys, jacket, etc) it goes "away" out in the open, where I can see it, so that clean up is no more than a 3 step process (pick up, walk 2 steps, set on shelf) and I can easily notice if it's been put away or not.
If it's a multiple-times-per-day item (phone, water bottle, glasses, chapstick) it gets multiple designated "set down" spots and/or multiples of the item so that I can always locate what I need quickly AND if I find it out of place, there is always a "correct" spot nearby
From the book Organizing Solutions for People with ADHD:

Putting a coat on the back of a chair by the door is fine, but if you prefer, use coat hooks and a large catch-all basket for dropping keys, hats, gloves.
Small bookcase end-table next to the couch to store craft projects, books, and other things being worked on for easy access.
Add a storage unit near the dining room table to transition between eating and working there.
Daily toiletry items should be stored in a basket that you can move easily
Extra toiletries and medicine cabinet items go in open shelf/basket storage so they can be seen and used easily. If items no longer fit, purge the excess. Don’t obscure the view!
If you disrobe in the bathroom, place a tall hamper in there.
Keep a set of cleaning supplies in each bathroom
