My dad sends me. Doctor Who character analysis sometimes and here's his latest:

11, more than any other Doctor, is the reason that River says, "Never let the Doctor see you get older." Rose, Martha, Amelia, Clara, Billie, Ryan, and Yaz are all young, all full of a sense of wonder for the things that the Doctor shows them. Donna is an adult. She first decided to become a companion because she was in a rut and wanted to run away from that. So 10 thought she would be like the the others. On their first trip, 9 showed Rose the end of the Earth. When she assumes that he is going to save the Earth, he corrected her. Stating that this is an unchangeable event. From the beginning, he trains her not to question his judgement on what he says cannot be changed. Donna was too old to fall for that and pushes back constantly. Okay, so you can't save everyone in Pompeii, then just save one person. It isn't an all or nothing proposition. He learned from that and tried to do better. Until he got too arrogant and tried to save someone he really should have let die. But then he became 11, the Doctor who forgets. The one who keeps running away more than any other. 200 years running away from Lake Silence. Years in a cloud over Victorian London. Years spent in a monastary.

If he can't save everyone, then fine. He won't save anyone.

Then he became 12, with a face to remind him of Donna's lesson.

Today the Fourteenth Doctor and Rose went to see a (surprisingly talented) band her friend is in playing an outdoor concert at the park. They brought popcorn and ended up throwing more at each other than they actually ate.

Today, the Nineteenth Doctor sat on top of a grassy hill and watched their old self and their favorite niece making one of their favorite memories of their time as their fourteenth self.

Donna Noble, the woman who told herself time and time again she was useless, stupid, unimportant. Who didn't believe genuine compliments and would shake them off with a laugh. The woman who was able to tell the Doctor when he needed to stop.

I hope Donna finds him passed out on the couch with at least a dozen empty chocolate egg boxes

I hope she puts a blanket over him and lets him sleep it off while affectionately muttering something about him being their alien equivalent of a Labrador because she didn’t realise how much he could eat

Ten, thinking: Uhm... I can cry on command. Does that count?

Rose: Absolutely! It's a show of your acting skills!

Ten, shaking his head: No, it's nothing to do with acting. I'm just constantly on the verge of a mental breakdown.

it's hard to believe that the doctor regenerated into david tennant again only to serve cunt for a day and a half and die. because he didn't. he accidentally named the daleks, got reunited with his bestie, saved the world with the power of transgenderism, called isaac newton hot, witnessed The Horrors, offered to get eloped with the enemy and got rejected (damn), bred via mitosis like a single cell organism instead of regenerating, saved the world again by playing the ball with himself and said enemy, was given a free therapy session by his future self, actually got retired and is now living with his best friend and her family. and is still a time lord. with his beloved tardis that he uses to take his family on trips. is he going to age? we don't know. can he regenerate? no idea. but BOY is he happy, good for him.

No you know what I’m bringing this back up bc it’s haunting me. Donna and the Doctor make it back to Donna’s still-partially-destroyed-but-at-least-UNIT-tarped-the-holes house before everyone else. They’ve been running for two days, with just a quick kip in the TARDIS on the way back from hell the edge of the Universe, but it’s done now and the pair of them stumble into the kitchen because it’s close. The Doctor seizes the first food item he passes, a box of powdered mini-donuts left on the counter, and falls into a chair at the kitchen table. Donna steps out for just a second to go to the bathroom, and by the time she gets back, her Spaceman is slumped over the table with their head on one arm, the other splayed out toward the empty donut box, powdered sugar all over both hands and the tabletop around him. This alien is fully dead-to-the-world zonked out and does not budge an inch until the others come crashing in two hours later. Donna lays a blanket over their shoulders and lets them be.

Inhaling a box of powdered donuts before passing out at Donna’s kitchen table
