Starship UI: PUBLIC BETA!  (Sims 2 Dark Mode)

Surprise!

To celebrate my first big project New Pleasantview turning a year old today, and getting close to 1,000 followers (thank you so much!) I’m releasing the public beta of Starship UI for everyone!

Starship UI was revealed in October last year and now it’s finally here for all simmers to test and play with!

I finally got it into a playable, functioning state a few weeks ago, and have been polishing it ever since.

Features:

Fully overhauled modern user interface based on @greatcheesecakepersona​‘s Clean UI mod

“Bubble” design for the UI, based on feedback

Easier on the eyes, especially at night

White text for maximum readability

6 new loading screens (coming soon)

Dark cursors (coming soon)

I am also announcing TWO new color variants of the UI, which I’ve been secretly working on for months: a vibrant, saturated pink, and a calming, soothing green, labeled “Pink Friday” and “Dreams” respectively. (Subject to change.)

The installation process is purposefully VERY easy:

There are multiple packages in the download zip file.

Each package is catered to a specific resolution (1600x900, 1920x1080)

Pick the package that best suits your monitor.

Place it in your downloads folder.

Place any extras (cursors, loading screens) in your games folder!

ARKHELIOS - A murder mystery and sci-fi scripted hood

It’s here!! It’s all finally here! An original, unique hood that resulted as the first collab between Red (simstate) and Nappe (nappe-plays-the-sims).

“Founded by Abraham Helios and disillusioned citizens protesting laws limiting freedom of expression (or freedom of partying) ARKHELIOS is embedded in the midst of nowhere between mountains no normal sim would dare climb. The community managed by itself up until the untimely death of Abraham. As succession is called into question and secrets unravel, will the inhabitants of ARKHELIOS be able to find peace again or plunge into chaos?”

What is Arkhelios? Arkhelios is a 10 household, 50+ sim story hood that revolves over the founder, Abraham Helios, being suddenly murdered! Find out who the killer is and look into all the drama and storylines of all the families!

What does Arkhelios require and is it CC-Free? Arkhelios was created with the Ultimate Collection in mind, so you’ll need all EPs and SPs for everyone to work as advertised. Arkhelios does come with some CC, but it’s purely for lore reasons and it’s only a little bit!

How long does Arkhelios take to complete? We recommend you play through all the households in this playing order. Please note that YOU ONLY NEED TO PLAY THEM for 2-3 DAYS at a time to solve the main mystery, no need for full rounds!

A secret puzzle in the hood you have to solve!

After you’ll solve this secret puzzle, you’ll know who the killer is in a “machinima” style cutscene!

Secret easter eggs everywhere! Will you find them all?

Notes: Certain behavior changing mods like Story Progression can cause a lot reset, which will break the scripted events. In that case, I recommend taking out SP to finish the main story, and then putting it back in once you’ve completed the story :D

Note 2: Certain pics in the game might trigger your eyes- some of them are photosensitive. If you have sensitive eyes, please take care and don’t play for now!

Hello! So recently I fell in love with the colors from aquilegia’s mm You Are What You Eat skintones. The colors are more neutral toned and the consistency between colors is fully on point!

Using those skins as a base, I chose six colors to make that show off the tone consistency between these skins.

The face is a Maxis Reloaded base with some extra details changed: the nose shape and eye shadowing is now a mix of it and an unreleased 0320 skin edit by @ara-fusilli​ (thank you!!) and the lips have some Lilith detail too!

Other features of the skin include:

Detailed faces for every age and gender!

Two skintones meant as a compliment to the defaults, and to make the coloring across all shades more consistent. (highly recommend you keep those in!)

Subtle Changes added to the face for more definition (lower opacity)

All compressed and tooltipped ^w^

Hello Skell, I just recently discovered your Fortune&Romance story (it is definitely a discovery made too late. It's an amazing story and you're a great storyteller!). I'm just wondering how much time has passed between Goth's anniversary party and Tricou's party. I'm guessing Rainelle got pregnant that night and by the time of chapter 16 we see her get quite big. Also, is chapter 16 the last chapter you shared or have I missed the continuation?

Rainelle was fooling around with Jon for a while, so it’s probably somewhere between 6-9 months. That is the last chapter I ever did. (kind of wrote myself into a corner and had some mental health issues) It still warms my heart to hear people like my stories.

@mariacherry extracted some really cool Sims Medieval screens that I wanted to play around with here. It’s been a recolour and day drink kind of day, so here are 16 recolours of some of the more supernatural screens on Maxis’ Nova Jazz and Lily Pads meshes. Each mesh has the same 16 pictures, I needed two different sizes for my witch lot and wanted to mix and match.
