Central City Summerween 2025

Hello, everyone! Let's talk about Central City Summerween! Buckle up, it's going to be a long post!

First, I'm going to shout out @scheherezhad, because she desperately wanted this thing to exist and put so much work into making this a reality!

Second, there I made a collection for CC Summerween here. All the rules posted below are also in the profile on AO3.

Now that all that's out of the way, let's talk about all the fun stuff!

This celebration will last the entire summer, from June 22 to September 22! Any and every type of fanwork is welcome, as long as the Central city inhabitants are the focus.

Please keep in mind that these prompts are meant to be as scary or as silly as you want them to be! This summer, spooky and spoopy is in!

Each week has a different theme that you can use as inspiration, and you can also earn merit badges by creating works during the week that match our merit badge list. (At the end of the summer, you'll get a fun little virtual sash with all the merit badges you managed to complete.)

You know my favourite thing about this whole scene?

The fire.

That roaring fire.

Unless it’s a gas-fed fireplace, Snart not only made himself cocoa and looked for marshmallows, he set up and lit a fire and then waited around long enough for it to take so well that it’s roaring away, just so he could give some  vague message to Barry.

i'm imagining the first time len gets seriously injured in barry's body goes terribly for everyone. len has his first panic attack in like a decade when he realises that painkillers will not work on him. bonus points if it's someone else using ice as a weapon against 'the flash' and he has to deal with exactly what barry deals with when they're fighting each other. having no control over barry's powers initially and experiencing time slowed way down, which would fuck with him specifically because of his internal clock.

then there's barry going through the five stages of grief over the realisation that being in len's body is the only way he's ever going to experience being middle-aged. the awful knowledge that comes with being a forensic scientist and knowing exactly what made which scar. having a little cry over getting to take an ibuprofen for a headache and having it WORK.

to borrow from a teen wolf fic as well - now imagine while they're in each other's bodies they dream each other's dreams/nightmares too, since the souls/minds are what have swapped, not the actual brain.

barry dreaming about lewis and the Bad Years. len dreaming about nora's murder, about eobard, about zoom...about himself.

and to lighten it up a bit. also the sex dreams. also about themselves, lmao.

I've read a few fics where Barry and Len swap bodies on accident (why would it be on purpose? Not for me to say) and while I love the whole "Woah I forgot what it was like to be a normal person" "Why are you so HUNGRY" dynamic, I always think about the way their lived experiences would come into play.

Maybe the speed force amps the user up like a quad shot espresso, and Len has to deal with constant anxiety and tremors. He could also experience phantom pains from Barry's many, many heroing related injuries that have long since healed, but the pain still pops up when his blood sugar is low. Maybe he can't sleep, too wired to calm down without running for hours. Maybe he cries for the first time in decades because it's not just Barry's metabolism that runs hot, it's also his emotions.

Maybe Barry realizes just how much Len hides under that parka, because he just woke up in Len's body and the only thing he notices is how much pain Len is in. It never stops. He can't get comfortable, no matter how he tries to sit. His back doesn't just hurt, it's weirdly flexible so sitting for long periods (which he does because Len is also fucking exhausted all the time) hurts as much as standing does. The first time he takes off his shirt (to shower, but also to check if Len is actively injured because fuck??) he's shocked about how many scars Len has.

Maybe when they finally manage to switch back, Barry hugs Len. He can't help it. How the hell does Len live being in constant pain?? Len doesn't hug back, but he's noticeably more careful during their fights. He doesn't hit Barry with the cold gun unless absolutely necessary.

I've read a fic that explored that a bit, but it's such an interesting dynamic. I'd love to see more of it.

see I just think that if Barry and len has gotten together before len went on the waverider, they would’ve been refusing to define the relationship so now they’re both stuck knowing that ~technically~ they’re not beholden to each other or whatever. and it would end with Barry being like “oh I bet len’s having fun flirting with strangers across space and time and getting close with his teammates that he’s stuck with close quarters in” and Len would be like “well rip said that none of us matter in history so clearly Barry and I didn’t work out I bet he’s gone off with Iris just like how the timeline was supposed to be” and by the time len comes back from blowing himself up at the oculus they’re both jealous and pissy about something they could’ve solved a full year ago.

best relationship dynamic is two people dragged into love kicking and screaming. sure maybe they'll like the destination but the journey behind them is going to be left with as many bite marks and bullet holes as possible

thinking about barry getting into storm chasing after the accelerator explosion. literally racing tornadoes, running alongside them for the thrill of it. sitting on top of ridges with a camera waiting for lightning. obsessing over stats and just how fucking miniscule the chances were of him getting struck that night

ColdFlash - Having sex with Barry is the Fountain of Youth

Has anyone ever addressed this before?

It’s like 2020, and Barry and Len have been secretly screwing since 2016. No one knows, but it’s not like they’re ashamed, they just don’t want to deal with the others freaking out, and then after a while when it becomes more than sex, they sort of enjoy it being this private thing that’s only theirs.

Sure, sometimes Lisa tries to set Len up with people, or Iris asks Barry why he hasn’t pursued anyone (worried it’s because of her), but they both just brush all that off. They’ll tell everyone someday.

Only Len has been working with Team Flash, and Legends, and even Team Arrow on occasion, for a long time now, so sometimes he gets checked out by Caitlin, just the usual mending wounds, blood work, etc.

But lately there’s been something weird with his blood samples. Once Caitlin notices, she brings Cisco in on it and they start to look for excuses to take more blood from Len. At first he’s like, whatever, not fond of needles, but not squeamish either, but then it gets obvious that he’s being singled out. He confronts them on it, but they’re ready to confront him.

Because the thing is…his cells are getting younger. There are traces of the meta human gene, but not from his own cells, and traces of the Speed Force in his blood. The only way that’s possible is if he was literally stealing Barry’s blood and injecting himself with it. Sure, it would be a slow process, something that would take years to show any effect, but if he’s on the hero side only to get some sort of Fountain of Youth out of Barry, or give himself powers, well he better think again!

Only Len has no idea what they’re talking about. Of course he isn’t stealing Barry’s blood. How would he even do that?

“You’re a master thief; you’d find a way.”

“I didn’t even know his blood was capable of that.”

“Well any blood-contaminated body fluids, really,” Caitlin mentions offhandedly, before going into another tirade, only now Len has gone quiet.

“I mean the only other way this could happen is if you were ingesting…” Then Caitlin trails off too. “Oh.”

“Huh? What?” Cisco looks between them both. “What did I miss?”

Basically everyone finds out that Barry and Len have been together for the past four years, and as long as they keep having sex regularly, they’ll eventually even out at the same age and get to grow old together.
