Rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices, which help people with injuries and disabilities to recover

Laboratory services

Preventive care, wellness services, and chronic disease management

Pediatric services, including oral and vision care for children

Nike to release “Pro Hijab” for Muslim women in spring 2018

On the heels of its campaign ad featuring Muslim athletes, Nike is taking a stand against discrimination. 

The athletic wear company announced the release of the “pro hijab,” Al Arabiya English reported on Monday.

“The Nike Pro Hijab may have been more than a year in the making, but its impetus can be traced much further back, to an ongoing cultural shift that has seen more women than ever embracing sport,” a statement from Nike said, according to Al Arabiya English.

The “pro hijab” is set to be released in spring 2018. Its creation follows years of controversy regarding Muslim women keeping their hair covered during athletic competitions. Read more (3/7/17 11:10 AM)

Chance the Rapper to donate $1 million to support Chicago’s ailing public school system

Standing behind a podium surrounded by educational posters, Chance called out Governor Bruce Rauner for his inaction on the Chicago school system’s budget problems.

Chance also announced his intention to donate “1 million dollars to CPS to support the arts and original programming.” He pulled out a big game show-sized check to prove it.

“This check that I donated is a call to action,” he said. “I’m challenging major companies and corporations in Chicago and across the U.S. to donate and take action.” Read more (3/6/17 4:13 PM)
