❝ Well, what can I say? ❞ Slinger so HUMBLY brags, twirling one of his Wispon revolvers around an index finger by the trigger guard. Before he holsters his weapon, however, his Cyan Wisp pops out to give him a good scolding for making it dizzy AGAIN, to which the ocelot grins sheepishly.

❝ Eheh…as I was saying, I’ve been SHOOTING things since I was old enough to hold a crossbow. ❞

Cyan perches on Slinger’s shoulder once it has calmed down, leaning into the side of his head woozily.  With a little chuckle he reaches up, gives it a fond pat, and returns the guns to their holsters.

❝ I can tell you’ve been getting better, though! ❞ he flashes the wolf a grin and a wink.  ❝ But maybe if you REALLY put your heart into training, you wouldn’t owe me seafood paella. ❞

“Well, you’re definitely stiff competition. I’ll get it one day, though! Even if I have to cheat a bit by putting all the targets at long range.” A small giggle, clearly this was said in jest! With that though, she sighs softly, reaching up take her own wisp up off her head. Orange seems to protest for a moment, before relaxing into her hold.

“It’s nice to at least know I’m good enough to... somewhat rival somebody that’s been at it their whole life.” With his second comment, her demeanor changes to good-natured ribbing. She grumbles something under her breath.

“Come oooon, every time you order that, the base smells like fish for a week!

It’s with a quiet sense of understanding that she observes the other, her reply coming after a moment of hesitation. 

“...no. I hardly sleep at all. There’s too much to do.”

        BLUE HEAD CAN’T HELP TILTING ONCE MASK IS ON, curious as for the reason why— did he say something wrong to have her hide away? he hopes not. scared is a correct assumption to make however, as the wisp defensively lets out a hiss, earning a concerned frown from the hedgehog.

        “ ya sure? these kinda guys can be a lot to handle… i don’t mind takin’ care of em if it’s too much for ya. ”

Scared? No, but she can see the way he’s concerned by the mask. She makes a mental note to explain it if he asks, but for the moment it’s left unmentioned. She slips the mask off after the hiss (shorthand for fear, stancing up to hide it), giving something of an apologetic smile.

“I’ve handled Wisps a lot. I’ll be fine, I promise. They... they look afraid. I don’t blame them after the badniks.”

“I just can’t keep up with you.” The scout grins slightly as she wraps up training with one of her partners in crime, re-attaching her Wispon to the holster on her back. “You’re something else.”

As much as she wasn’t a fan of the training the Diamond Cutters did so often, she will admit that she’d gotten much sharper in her shooting. But at the end of the day, she knows she didn’t challenge Slinger to a shooting contest to win. No, it was simply for the sake of a bit of fun with a friend.

“Well, I lost. Guess that means I’m buying dinner next, huh?”

The night is rather quiet, she notes. Not too quiet as to unnerve her unnecessarily (she’s always some manner of unnerved, she thinks), but enough to be calming, nice. At the very least, she’s not completely on edge for once in her life. Being around people more has done wonders for helping her feel a little more... secure, she supposes? Safe. 

It’s pleasant, a view into a life she really never got to have. 

But, a brief glimpse in the corner of her eye of a familiar stature catches her attention, immediately takes that edge and drops it on her like a boulder. Suddenly she’s tense, all gritted teeth and misplaced hope that she didn’t just see a certain octopus out of the corner of her eye. Not again.

She stands up slowly, Wispon gripped sharply at her side. Please, please tell her what she saw wasn’t what she thought. 

Please.

Since we’re on the topic of sexuality, headcanon time! Whisper is very much pan, not entirely sure where she lands in terms of leaning. Romance isn’t really her forte and she knows it, but she’s got the occasional thought of it. That all said, she’s. Notably flustery, and can’t handle flirting very well without kinda just breaking. 

(That is, assuming it’s with someone she has no ill will towards.)

Respecting Identities

No matter what, I believe you should definitely respect the sexual identities of your other muns and their characters. The fact of the matter is that making people feel ashamed for their identities is a terrible thing and you shouldn’t be doing it. Specifically, there are people who make other muns feel like them or their characters are being objectified, and this has incredibly awful repercussions towards making people confident in speaking about their characters. Regardless of if a character is gay, lesbian, top, bottom, or anything of the sort, characters do NOT exist to be your dolls that you can place fetishes on or throw flack at. Many muns put a lot of themselves into their characters, so please think twice before you say anything that might degrade the integrity of another character.

I’ve also found that the whole “YOUR CHARACTER IS A BOTTOM SHUT UP” joke isn’t exactly funny. Furthermore, do not make assumptions about what a character or mun’s sexual preference is based on their body type or personality. Anyone can be ANYTHING. Please understand that before making assumptions rooted in stereotypes.
