Studio Interruptions - Bang Chan
Changbin didn't expect to walk in on an passionate encounter.
Tumblr media
Changbin pushed open the studio door, his head full of lyrics and chords. “Hyung, I think I figured out—”
“AHHHH!”
A deep, startled shout tore through the room like a thunderclap, and you and Chris practically jumped apart like someone had set off an alarm. Chris almost fell out of his chair, and you fumbled back into the desk, your face turning bright red as you tried to get your bearings.
You had been completely lost in the moment – Chris sitting in his chair with you leaning over him, his hands on your waist as the two of you shared what could only be described as a very involved make-out session. The sudden noise broke the spell so violently that it left both of you scrambling for some semblance of composure.
“CHANGBIN?!” Chris practically yelled, his voice cracking as he gripped the armrests to steady himself. “WHAT THE – WHY DID YOU SCREAM?!”
“I COULD ASK YOU THE SAME QUESTION!” Changbin shot back, his face a mix of disbelief and amusement as he stared at the two of you, wide-eyed. “I wasn’t expecting to walk into – that!” He gestured vaguely toward you and Chris, his voice low but incredulous.
You covered your face with your hands, utterly mortified. Chris groaned loudly, dragging a hand down his face as his ears turned bright red. “Could you have knocked?” he mumbled, clearly trying to gather whatever was left of his dignity.
“I don’t need to knock when I come into the studio!” Changbin argued, his voice still carrying an edge of disbelief. “I thought you were, I don’t know, actually working on music – not on each other.”
You couldn’t help but burst into laughter, covering your face to hide your embarrassment. Chris, on the other hand, groaned, clearly mortified. “You didn’t have to scream, man! You scared us more than we scared you!”
Changbin finally straightened up, still breathing heavily, though a sly smile tugged at his lips. “To be fair, it was pure instinct. You’re lucky it was me who walked in and not Han. If it were him, he’d have screamed, run into the doorframe, and then passed out.”
You groaned, finally letting your hands drop from your face. “Okay, okay, we get it.”
Changbin’s grin only grew wider as he started toward the door. “All I’m saying is, next time, put a sock on the door or something! Give a man some warning before you start sticking your tongues in each other’s throats.”
He shot you both a wink before slipping out of the room, leaving the door slightly ajar behind him.
The studio fell into silence. For a moment, you and Chris just sat there, trying to shake off the awkwardness. Chris exhaled heavily, his eyes still wide as he leaned back in his chair.
You let out a small laugh, still feeling the heat in your cheeks. “They are never going to live this down, are they?”
Chris tilted his head back, groaning dramatically. “Nope. Knowing Changbin, he’s probably already telling the others right now.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his misery. “We’ll have to be more careful next time.”
Chris gave you a look, his lips quirking into a small smirk. “You’re assuming there’s going to be a next time in the studio?”
You raised an eyebrow, grinning back at him. “Oh, please. You were the one who couldn’t keep his hands off of me today.”
Chris sat up straight, his ears turning red all over again. “Me?!” he sputtered, pointing at himself in disbelief. “You were the one practically crawling into my lap!”
You raised an eyebrow, fighting back a laugh. “Oh, so now it’s my fault?”
Chris opened his mouth to argue but ended up shaking his head with a chuckle, slumping back into his chair. “Fine, maybe it’s both of our faults. But next time, we’re locking the door.”
As you sat down on the sofa, you touched your ears. “Man, he really did scream loud, though. I’m still recovering.” you said, laughing.
Chris sighed, trying to hide his smile as he spun back towards the computer, muttering something about needing to actually get work done – though you were both fully aware that this wasn’t the last time you’d risk being caught.

Ruined for anyone else - Bang Chan
"If we ever broke up, I think you ruined me for anyone else."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chris sat cross-legged on the couch, scrolling through his phone while you cuddled into his side, head resting on his shoulder. The soft glow of the TV bathed the room in muted light, but neither of you paid it much attention. It was one of those quiet nights where words flowed easily, the kind of comfort that came from being completely at ease with each other.
You tilted your head to look up at him, a soft smile playing on your lips as a thought came to mind. Without much preamble, you murmured, “You know, if we ever broke up… I think you ruined me for anyone else.”
Chris froze mid-scroll, his fingers hovering over the screen. Slowly, he turned to look at you, his brows furrowing, confusion flickering in his eyes. “What?” he asked, his voice quiet, almost hesitant.
“I mean,” you said softly, “you’ve set the bar so high. You’re so attentive, so thoughtful… I don’t think I could ever find someone else who loves me like you do. You’ve shown me what it’s supposed to feel like.”
His phone slipped from his hands as he let out a quiet, almost shaky laugh, his gaze dropping to the floor. “I don’t know… You know, I don’t always feel like I’m enough,” he admitted, his voice low.
Your heart clenched, and you sat up a little to take his hand, lacing your fingers with his. “Chris, stop,” you said firmly. “You’re more than enough. You’ve raised my standards so high I couldn’t even imagine anyone else. That’s why I said it – you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
He lifted his eyes to meet yours, wide and searching, and for a moment, he looked like he didn’t quite believe you. Then he gave a small, disbelieving laugh, a soft smile tugging at his lips.
“Ruined you, huh?” he finally said, his tone teasing, but the slight break in his voice betrayed how deeply your words affected him. He reached out, cupping your face gently, his thumb brushing over your cheekbone. “You think I’d ever let that happen? There’s no ‘breaking up,’ alright? You’re stuck with me.”
You couldn’t help but smile at his response, but he wasn’t done. His voice softened, taking on a vulnerable edge as he added, “But… hearing you say that? It means everything to me. I just – I try so hard to be good for you, you know? To make sure you know how much I love you. So… thank you. For saying that.”
You reached up, placing your hand over his. “You don’t have to try. You just… are.”
He stared at you for a long moment, then leaned in and kissed you, slow and lingering, as if to say all the things words couldn’t. When he pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
“For the record,” he whispered, “you’ve ruined me too. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Just One More - Han Jisung
Goodbyes always take a little longer thanks to your lovely boyfriend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were already running late. Your phone vibrated with another notification, no doubt a reminder that if you didn’t leave now, you’d never make it on time. But your boyfriend had a way of making time feel irrelevant.
"Okay, I really have to go now," you said, tilting your head up towards him.
Han pouted slightly, his warm brown eyes flickering with mischief. "Already?"
"Yes, already," you teased, leaning in to press a quick goodbye kiss to his lips. It was supposed to be short, a fleeting touch, but even in that brief moment, his lips curled into a smile against yours.
As you pulled back, he caught your wrist. "One more."
You rolled your eyes but indulged him, kissing him again.
He hummed, clearly pleased. "Mmm. Another."
"Hannie—"
"Just one more," he said, his voice laced with playful innocence.
You sighed in faux exasperation but leaned in once again, letting your lips linger just a second longer this time.
As soon as you pulled away, he tilted his head, eyes twinkling. "Okay, I lied. One more."
A laugh bubbled out of you. "Han—"
"Y/N—" he mimicked your tone, his fingers slipping around your waist. "You’re really gonna leave me like this? Cold? Lonely?"
You playfully shoved his arm. "You're literally going to the studio to be surrounded by your members in, like, ten minutes."
"Yeah, but they don’t give me kisses like you do," he murmured, his voice softer now. His thumb brushed against your jawline, his expression turning just a little more serious. "One last one. Promise."
You sighed, but it was a losing battle, and you both knew it. "Last one," you warned.
He grinned victorious and as you kissed him this time, he held onto you just a little tighter, just a little longer – just enough to make you wish you really didn’t have to go.
When you finally pulled away, his lips still ghosting over yours, he whispered, "I love you."
You smiled, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead. "I love you too."
"Even if you're making me run late, again," you added.
Han gasped. "Hey! I’m just loving you!"
You rolled your eyes, but couldn’t hide your smile as you stepped away. Just as you turned towards the door, you heard him call out with that same teasing tone—
"Okay, but would one more really hurt so much?"

˖˙ ᰋ ── i didn't hear what you said, i just want to kiss you
Tumblr media
﹙ʚɞ˚﹚. genre: fluff
﹙ʚɞ˚﹚. a/n: this is for all of my perfectionist students lmao. kind of self indulgent and super inspired by hyunjin's latest live. enjoy!! <3<3<3
Tumblr media
For years now, your boyfriend has been your favorite study partner. Always patient, kind, and considerate of your needs, helping you tackle every difficult subject with a smile on his face. Bringing you snacks, urging you to take breaks whenever he sensed you needed it but most importantly, never pressuring you in any way. Despite your stellar marks, he always says:
“Don’t stress too much about it. Grades aren’t everything.”
And you believe him, you really do, yet the overachiever part of your soul is always louder, and never lets you rest, yelling in your ear until you comply and spend your whole day cooped up inside, studying.
You need to get the highest grade possible, otherwise you’ll shrivel up and die.
Hyunjin keeps you grounded, that’s why there’s no better person alive than your boyfriend. An angel in disguise who has somehow fallen from grace, lost his wings, and is now trapped on earth, forced to mingle with mere mortals like you.
And mingle he does. But unfortunately for him that’s not enough – he also has to teach you statistics.
“See? The difference between descriptive statistics and inferential statistics is quite simple. It’s easier to tell them apart now, right?”
“I guess…” You yawn, setting your glittery pen aside before stretching your arms above your head. “I need a break.”
Hyunjin cocks a brow, amused. “We just started.”
“Half an hour ago!” You point towards the clock on the far wall, hidden behind endless amounts of bookshelves.
“Exactly, we barely managed to scratch the surface.” He pouts, running a hand over his buzzed head in slight exasperation.
You have to resist the urge of squishing his cheeks together, not wanting to make a scene in public. Cuteness aggression was a real thing you fought with every day. “I’m not going to lie, my love. I stopped listening to whatever you were explaining 15 minutes ago.”
“What?”
You nod. “I didn’t hear anything you said.” Then, you scoot closer, gluing yourself to his side as your voice drops several octaves. “I just want to kiss you.”
Hyunjin’s eyes widen slightly at your confession, swiftly looking around to ensure the nearby tables are still vacant. Then, he tongues his cheek in the most attractive way you’ve witnessed, a smirk hanging off the corners of his mouth as he shakes his head.
“After you finish this chapter.” He eventually breathes out, allowing one of his hands to rest on your upper thigh and squeeze in encouragement.
Your head falls back with a groan, frustrated. “Come on, Hyun!” the way you drag out his name has him chuckling lowly, eyes sparkling. “Haven’t I suffered enough?”
“Suffer?” He laughs, poking your forehead. “You’ll only suffer if you fail this test.”
“I won’t fail.” You huff, jerking back. His hand then slips off your thigh and the lack of warmth has you scrawling right back, wounding your arms around his neck to bring him even closer, hoping he’ll cave.
Hyunjin’s eyes fall to your lips, and you know it’s a matter of time before the spell you got him under works its magic. “Of course, you won’t. I won’t allow it.”
Your bright smile snaps his attention back to your eyes, which he seems to get lost exploring, absorbed by the beautiful color. Without missing a beat, you lean forward to connect your lips, eager to taste the cherry chapstick you applied on him when he complained about his lips being dry.
You guess even angels can get dehydrated.
Making out at the library on a Thursday night was never on your bingo card, but with Hyunjin as your partner in crime, you wouldn’t mind doing anything. He makes you feel safe in any situation, but especially when you have to get out of your comfort zone, tackle life head-on when putting things on hold is no longer an option.
You manage to peck his lips, once, twice, and then three times before he brings you closer, big hands sliding down from your waist to your hips and squeezing, needing to feel your flesh between his fingers.
His tongue brushes against your lower lip, and as your mouth opens to allow him access to every part of you, a low moan escapes you both simultaneously. Alcohol was overrated – you’ve only ever gotten drunk on each other.
“We don’t even share a major.” He gasps as he pulls away, and your lips find his jaw.
“I know.” Another kiss graces the beautiful mole under his eye.
With the way you’re kissing him, your lips trailing down his throat, Hyunjin has trouble speaking. “I-I’ve never taken this class before.”
“I know.” You nod, pecking the base of his neck.
A shiver runs down his spine, and his hold on you tightens, almost like he’s ready to lift and place you on his lap, deeming you too far away. “So why do I keep helping you like I’m some dean’s list student?”
“Because you love me.” You finally stop to look into his eyes, heart fluttering at the way his chest is already weaving up and down after a few minutes of innocent kisses. Your touch has always had that effect on him, so you were never confused about his feelings towards you. Hyunjin wore his heart on his sleeve, body reacting faster than his brain could process, never failing to show you how near and dear you are to him. How much he adored every one of your endearing quirks, loving you unconditionally like it was a duty he never wanted to be free of. “As much as I love you.”
With a cocky smirk he barely manages to muster, he replies while tucking some hair behind your ear. “I think I love you a little more than you love me, actually.”
“That’s impossible, Hyun.”
And you were certain of it. Nothing could be bigger than the love you held for this angel.

Kitchen Comfort
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: chan comes to you, crying, and you help to comfort him.
tags: fluff, angst (?), reverse comfort, no gender is specified for reader
a/n: i’ve had this idea for weeks now and it’s just been a draft sitting in my notes but I finally did it
Tumblr media
It all started in the kitchen. You had been standing at the counter, focused on preparing a snack for yourself. You were over at Chan and Innie’s dorm room, the rest of the members were in the living room, playing music and battling in an intense game of Uno.
Suddenly, Chan, who had been quietly watching you from a distance, walked in. Without making a word, He wrapped his arms around your waist and tucked his head into your shoulder.
Chan is normally physically affectionate, it’s a known fact. And It would’ve been normal if it weren’t for the quiet sniff the you heard near your ear. You froze, you hand stopping from where you were cutting your apple and you listened quietly. Maybe you had just misheard, the kitchen wasn’t far from the living room so it was pretty loud.
But it happened again, another quiet sniff into the fabric of your shirt. You dropped the knife and tried to turn around in his grasp but his arms tightened around your waist, silently pleading for you to stay where you were.
You reached down and placed your hand atop his wrist, gently rubbing your thumb against the back of his palm trying to tell him to loosen his grip. It took a few seconds, but he complied, loosening his hold on you and you turn around in his arms.
His face crumbles as a sob escapes him, quiet and strained as if he was trying to hold it in. He leaned into you, burying his face into the space inbetween your neck and shoulder.
Your hands instinctively wrapped around him, your fingers tracing soothing circles onto his back.
Chan’s voice was barely audible when he whispered, “I’m sorry.”
You tilted your head, face softening with confusion. “Why are you sorry?” you whispered, you couldn’t possibly fathom what he needed to be sorry about in this moment.
His voice cracked, “I didn’t mean to cry.” he admitted quietly.
You sighed, wishing he didn’t feel the need to hold it in.
‘You don’t have to apologize for that.’ you thought. But you didn’t say it, instead, you held him tighter making sure he knew his tears weren’t a burden to you.
“Do you want to talk about it?” You whispered. Chan shook his head, so you didn’t push.
“Do you wanna go to your room?” He nodded.
You let slowly him pull away, lifting your hands to delicately wipe the tears that stained his cheeks. You took his hand and slowly lead him out to the hallway and towards his room, passing by the door to the living room.
Your presence didn’t go completely unnoticed, Changbin looked up when he saw you to pass and immediately noticed the look on Chan’s face as he pretty much completely avoided looking into the living room. He sent you a worried glance before you nodded at him and he nodded back, turning back to the game to give you some space.
Upstairs, the weight of the moment hit him. He hadn’t realized how much he had been holding it in until he sat on the edge of his bed and felt the force of the trembling in his body. For about half an hour, the tears had repeatedly come and gone until he was left with red puffy eyes and a snot filled nose.
His sniffles eventually slowed and he rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand.
“I’ll get you a tissue,” You said softly, standing to walk towards the bathroom.
He didn’t know why, but he felt bad for crying. He hadn’t meant to. Things happened and he was stressed. He hugged you because he wanted to feel you for comfort but he ended up crying. It made him feel guilty.
His thought were cut off when you handed him to tissue. His voice was barely audible when he muttered the words, “Thank you.”
“Do you wanna talk..?” You offered again, you weren’t going to push him, but you hadn’t seen him cry that hard in a very long time.
He wiped his eyes and blew his nose quietly. When he finally spoke, his voice was hoarse. “I’m okay.” His shoulders shifted instinctively as he rolled them back as if trying to push the sight off them. His back straightening in an attempt to look more composed than he felt.
”You’re not.” You said.
He sighs, “I will be. Just.. needed you.” He whispered as if admitting it took more effort than he was willing to admit.
”Okay..” You mumbled, your voice unsure.
He sighed as he rifled with the crumbled tissue in his hand. He hates feeling like people were pitying him. Deep down, he knows you’re not doing this out of pity, but he can’t help but feel like he’s being a burden.
“I’m not doing any of this out of pity,” You say as if you just read his mind.
“I know.” He whispers but the words feel cold coming out of his mouth as if doesn’t even believe what he’s saying.
Even now, years into your relationship, he still has trouble convincing himself that you really care in moments like this, but you remind him all the time that you’d do anything for him. And that he’s grateful for.
“I just wanna make sure you’re okay.” You say. Chan looks up at you and nods slowly.
You care so much for him, and he can’t help but feel like he doesn’t deserve it.
You wrap an arm around his shoulder and he falls into your touch easily, resting his head against your shoulder. You lean down and press a kiss to his forehead.
“I love you,”
“I love you.” He whispers back. He does. He loves you so much. “Thank you.” He mutters but you furrows your eyebrows and shakes your head.
“Don't need to thank me.”

may I ask if there is gonna be a chapter two of chaotic good? 😓
Hello! I'll use this ask to give an update on where I'm at with Chaotic Good right now!
So I've mentioned before that I had a spur of the moment when it came to creating Chaotic Good and I was still trying to figure out where I want to take the plot. I've made some headway with the plot but it's still an outline. Once I wrap up Spy Family, I'm considering working on Chaotic Good as the next miniseries for here.
So in short, yes! There will be a part 2 of Chaotic Good, maybe after I wrap up Spy Family...I'll make a post indicating my decision asap :)

JISUNG:
You never knew what you were gonna get when it came to Jisung and his surprises, but you welcomed them warmly because you saw how excited he became when planning how to surprise you. He had a spontaneous nature and loved to surprise you with impromptu dates that were intricately planned to a T.
Jisung liked to be the element of surprise. Initially it used to be an insecure feeling for him because he never wanted to be seen as overbearing but you were very welcoming to his spontaneous ideas; you just asked to be given a little heads up to be prepared and ready. Jisung understood and it made him feel more at ease about being himself.
You love Jisung for who he is and he was so grateful you regaled him with his ideas. He fell more and more in love with you every time. When he daydreamed about the night before, he would find himself unconsciously smiling widely when he thought about you and the way you would sneak in a kiss out of nowhere. And especially the moment when you had let it slip that you love him.
So on Valentine’s Day, when he grabbed your hand and twirled you around, he made sure to clearly make his feelings also known.
“I really love you.”
You’ve got the one thing Jisung always needed in his life - the energy to match his spontaneity.
Tumblr media
FELIX:
When Felix met you, you were two single people who just so happened to be standing right next to one another when a fireworks display was set on Valentine’s night. The two of you jumped at the sudden sound and looked right into each other’s eyes after embarrassingly. And when he looked at you, Felix felt that giddy and excited feeling.
The two of you continued to talk after and did so everyday after, becoming close friends instantly. And when he finally had the courage to ask you out, Felix couldn’t help but become more enamored with you. You had your quirks and playful traits and with Felix’s sweetheart nature, the two of you were a perfect pair.
The two of you were like silly little kids who became each other’s better half. So a year later on Valentine’s night again, when the two of you were back to watch the fireworks display again but this time as a couple, Felix knew this was the best time to say what he had on his mind for a long time.
“I love you Y/N.”
Under the lights one night, you stole Felix’s heart.
Tumblr media
SEUNGMIN:
Seungmin wasn’t fond of physical touch or contact. He didn’t mind holding hands or hugging per say, but he didn’t really understand how people could be so clingy to someone else.
And then he met you. You made him feel so calm and relaxed and you either always knew what to say or knew when sitting in silence in each other’s presence was the best route to go. It made him feel safe and as time went on, during your silent sessions, he would always mindlessly play your hands and press a chaste kiss to it or pull you close to give you a sweet kiss.
Whether it was on the lips, cheeks or forehead, he would do it on a whim which would always surprise you. At one point, you jokingly said he loves you. But it wasn’t a joke to Seungmin. When he heard that and really thought about it, he realized how special you are to him.
After a night on the town for Valentine’s, when he once again on a whim kissed your hand that he was holding, you joked again that he loves you, but this time he responded.
“I do.”
“Huh?”
“I do love you.”
“HUH!?”
“I just really love you, so let me kiss you.”
Tumblr media
JEONGIN:
It annoyed Jeongin that everyone still saw him as a kid sometimes, especially when it came to going out on dates. But then when he met you, he actually didn’t mind being seen as a kid sometimes. He found himself having fun and embracing his silly side with you, even though you had only known each other for a short amount of time.
But it didn’t matter what anyone else said, the two of you just enjoyed yourselves and each other’s company. So on Valentine’s night, after a night out that was planned like a scavenger hunt, while the two of you skipped down the street hand in hand swinging and giggling, Jeongin took a moment before loudly confessing.
“I love you so much, thank you for loving me.”
And then he pulled you with him, racing down the street to get a sweet treat.
The two of you may have only just met not too long ago but it definitely felt like love.

CHAN:
The night Chan met you, although the room was filled with people, all he could see was you - with a pretty smile, fiddling with your hair while glancing around. When your eyes landed on him and you froze for a second, Chan noticed how shy you became as you averted your eyes to every other part of the room but always not-so-subtly gazing back at him. And from the moment the two of you met and talked, Chan knew you were going to be someone very special in his life. His heart fluttered every time you walked into a room and he found himself being extra silly around you just to hear you laugh. And even on the days when the two of you argued, pushing and pulling at each other like two magnets, you would always click back into place because you both meant a lot to each other.
Chan knew he was head over heels in love with you. He never expected it to feel so authentic and blissful but every time he looked at you next to him - his arm draped around you while you snuggled up into his side, his heart soared and it felt like home.
Maybe that’s why it was so easy to admit those three words that night. On Valentine’s, when he took you for a walk by the river, Chan turned to you - his eyes sparkling just like the night the two of you met. He held your hands gently and gazed into your eyes so lovingly and adoringly.
“I love you.” he whispered just for the two of you to hear.
Even when the night changes to another, Chan’s love for you will never change.
Tumblr media
MINHO:
Minho loves you unconditionally. He’s always the first one to wake up as always, making his way to the kitchen to make you a healthy breakfast. You would find him with his back turned, focused on whatever he’s doing, humming to himself softly but as you’re about to enter, he could sense it and would turn around with a huge smile on his face, ready to welcome you with open arms. It’s a homely feeling that centers and grounds the both of you. With him, there’s solace and happiness and a space where you can be your truest and vulnerable self.
Maybe it’s because he loves you unconditionally and isn’t afraid to show it. He’ll back hug you, play with your messy hair, grab you spontaneously and place you on the countertop; fitting right in between your legs and staring at you devotedly. Other times, the two of you can just sit in silence together and enjoy each other’s company.
It’s in that moment of silence on Valentine’s Day that Minho takes that leap of faith. Because when he turns to look at you whose attention is towards a crossword puzzle, he feels that homely and cozy feeling of bliss. And when you turn to look at him for help for your crossword, the shared sweet smile is the final confirmation he needs subconsciously for the three words to roll off his tongue effortlessly. “I love you.”
Minho can’t really be bothered about anyone else, it’s just everything about you.
Tumblr media
CHANGBIN:
Dating an idol isn’t for the weak. The constant scrutiny and prying into your private life as you second guess yourself most days. It’s like a forbidden love for you and Changbin and the two of you dared to pursue it, risking everything for a chance at happiness with each other. Because when you look at Changbin, your heart flutters every time at the soft, gentle, caring, goofy and attentive person he is. Every time you gaze into his eyes, you can tell he loves you. It’s a soulful and passionate love especially when he’s twirling you around in a dance or protecting you from the back with his hands on your shoulders with yours on top. Or when he’s being silly to make you laugh or when the two of you share a meal together and he gives you some of his food.
So when all the scrutiny feels like too much on Valentine’s Day of all days and you’re standing in your apartment with your hand lingering in his, Changbin brings you into a tight embrace after a moment, reassuring you that he’ll protect you and it’ll be okay.
“Because I love you so much.” he confesses after.
And you know he’s telling the truth. Because even if the world might be against the two of you, both of you are certain that you’ll make it till the end.
Tumblr media
HYUNJIN:
They don’t know that Hyunjin has waited all his life to find a love that feels this right. They don’t know about the little coffee shop dates to the same place that is both of your secret little corner of the world. They don’t know about how Hyunjin knows exactly how you like your beverage; a small thing perhaps but it’s one of the many ways he shows you how he cares. They don’t know about the hushed whispers, the teases, the compliments and the laughs shared between the two of you as a testament of your love for each other. And they certainly don’t know about the I love you’s. It had slipped a few times from the two of you in the moments but you both knew that the two of you meant it every time.
So after your Valentine’s date, when Hyunjin rests his forehead on yours, he whispers ever so honestly and earnestly, “I love you so much.”
No one knows that Hyunjin has waited all his life for someone like you.

Chapter 2
Seven years later
Standing outside on his balcony that oversaw the picturesque plaza in the centre of Pruvine, Chan was seething in anger and frustration. He had only ever been this angry once. It was when he lost you.
Life was never the same again in the lone district. The lack of your presence left a void that made it unbearable for Chan to continue living there. He was devastated by your disappearance and took it upon himself to protect everyone else - something he failed to do for you. Because of his successful academic research, Chan was able to secure funding and a position as a teaching assistant that allowed him the opportunity to move to Pruvine and bring everyone along. The house was nestled right in-between the Academy and the Council’s headquarters.
However, it took him two years to pull himself together - as sporadic waves of sadness and sorrow washed over him and the profound emptiness opened up inside of him as he remembered you. Every time he tried to focus on his work, his eyes glistened with unshed tears as he recalled moments with you that began to feel like a lifetime ago.
He hadn’t realized until that night how special you were to him. When Jisung scampered into the party with tears streaming down his face and screaming that you had been attacked, everything became a blur for Chan as he rushed out to find you.
 But you weren’t there.
There was an empty space where Jisung said you were. From behind him, Jisung exclaimed that you were losing consciousness so there was no way you could stand and rise on your own. As the rain poured ferociously, Chan sat on his knees as grief and gloom slowly blanketed him as he realized what was happening.
Kiara urged that the Surviellants would be able to find you but while the Chief-in-Charge loudly claimed that it must have been someone from the undercity, their search and rescue was unsuccessful.
“They’re good for nothings! Sleazy and conniving rats!” the Chief-in-Charge howled every time Chan went to the station, “They were a part of it! Don’t worry son, we’ll get justice!”
But it turned into a cold case with no leads. Chan refused to believe that you were gone - just like that. So he took it upon himself, albeit secretly, to find a way to locate you and bring you home. On a trip for his research paper, Chan travelled to a vast open field that stretched as far as the eye could see, with an endless expanse of lush green flora that was dotted with colourful wildflowers and exuded a sense of serenity. There was something magical about the place and on the third day of his trip when he attempted to pluck a lone blue wildflower that sat on a hump, Chan noticed a soft shining blue glow from under the soil. He didn’t think anything of it at first but when he tried to touch it, there was an electrifying zap that sent him reeling back. When he looked at his fingers, there was a static electric current that lasted only for a moment.
He knew he had discovered something unearthly and anomalous - four blue orbs that could not be touched with bare hands.
Perhaps this was his chance to save you. However, he was unable to make a breakthrough. It seemed almost impossible to stabilize the orbs and every time Chan thought he made progress, there was always a setback. And the longer it took, the more the Council seemed disinterested. Finally, Chan decided to scrap the research and while everyone around him felt relieved he had finally given up, he continued his work in his little office space that was off limits to everyone but him. And after what felt like aeons, Chan finally was making some progress.
Until, the break-in occurred.
It was the night of the Academy’s banquet when the entire upper class gathered in the ballroom at the Council’s headquarters, to celebrate and make merry of Pruvine’s growth. Chan preferred to stay at the Academy and continue his research but Kiara pulled him along with her and didn’t leave him for the entire night.
“You need to lighten up and live a little!” Kiara giggled, “How else will you keep a girlfriend?”
Chan blushed at the remark because his mind would immediately run to you, it was you who would keep Chan on his toes and bring him out of his shell to experience new things. And then he remembered he could be in his office - he should’ve been in his office, maybe then he could have averted the robbery.
All over Pruvine, the news spread like a wildfire.
“Midnight robbery at the Academy! It’s alleged that the Four broke into staff offices and burglarized both Professors and student assistants. Many have reported missing items and vandalism. Chief-in-Charge Sir Cumberbatch promises that swift action is being taken and they will bring the perpetrators to the Council by the end of the week!”
The Four. Chan had heard the name before. It was rumored that the Four were a gang of thieves - presumably a group of kids from the undercity who would somehow enter into the bars and clubs of the city and either steal the bulk of stocks or start a ruckus when important people were visiting the city. Although Chan knew of Pruvine’s prejudice against the undercity, it seemed that perhaps they were right about the gang because not too long after, news circulated that the undercity was doing the same theme and was stocked with priceless drinks - the same brand that went missing and investors were invited to check out what a real nightlife was. Those who were pleased and interested started forming business alliances with the undercity and before anyone could realize, the undercity was growing slowly, all because of the Four.
Personally, Chan didn’t care about the Four…until now. His research was stolen, the four orbs were gone and he had no clue where to start looking. As he gazed outside from the balcony, Chan could see faint glowing lights in the direction of where the undercity was. His jaw tightened and he felt the anger rising inside. He was even more enraged that the case was looking to be another cold case; it couldn’t become another unsolved case - he needed those orbs back - it was his only way to get you back.
While the security cameras were damaged, his friend Hongjoong suggested that Yunho could be able to salvage some stills from the footage. Sir Cumberbatch was unable to retrieve any footage and handed back the broken cameras without second thought. Chan sent it to Yunho and was now patiently to hear back.
As the night wore on and everyone went to bed, Chan stayed up on the balcony, until the doorbell rang. Yunho successfully retrieved the stills of the footage. Chan rushed back to his room, the envelope secured tightly in his hands, his heart racing intensely. Finally, he could figure out who the perpetrators were, Sir Cumberbatch could arrest them and hopefully, he would get the orbs back.
As he went through the pictures he made note of certain features of each person: one had his hair neatly tied in a ponytail accompanied with a key hair accessory and a clip on the side, another who also had long hair - had his hair open and ran his hand through it - Chan noticed a sort of nail polish on his nails. The other person was a girl whose hair was in a pixie cut.
So it was only three thieves? Maybe it wasn’t the Four after all, Chan thought, Sir Cumberbatch was wrong again.
However, when he flipped to the next page Chan furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. There was another girl, who had long hair, it was a side picture that only caught half her face but Chan knew that side view all too well. He hastily flipped to the next picture, the girl was standing over the box that had the orbs and in the next, the boy with long hair grabbed her arm. It must’ve been when the alarm went off.
As Chan turns to the next photo hoping to get the confirmation he needs, his hands tremble as his heart pounds as if keeping in time with his rising anxiety. When he sees the full view of the girl’s face, his mind begins to spin, tears begin to blur his vision and sobs begin to rack his body.
Chan can’t believe it.
-
Meanwhile, while the nightclubs of the undercity came alive with a lineup of of club goers waiting to get inside and the colourful lighting pulsing from the inside, a girl walks alone on the quieter side of the street, her blue hair swaying prettily in the air while her hands clasps the strap of her bag tightly.
A boy with long hair slides up from behind her and drapes his arm around her. While usually she would be on the alert, she knows who it is, the scent of his sweet perfume filling the air. He brings her closer to him as they saunter towards a large building.
“What’s on your mind darling?” he asks.
The girl rolls her eyes at the nickname before answering, “You don’t have to sweet talk me, I was going to tell you anyway.”
“I know you would, it’s not sweet talk, you’re my darling after all.”
She playfully elbows him in his side as she tries to hide a blush that adorns her cheeks. As she breaks away from his arm hug, she looks around cautiously before opening her bag slightly, a blue glow emitting from the inside. The boy looks at her in awe.
“What is that?” he questions.
“No clue,” she replies nonchalantly, “But they’ll definitely sell for a pretty penny.”
The boy grins widely to match her large smile and brings the girl in once again with his arm over her shoulders as they make their way to their destination.
“Thanks for waiting for me back there Hyunjin,” she says after a moment, “I know we said if the alarm goes off just save yourself, whatever you have and don’t worry about anyone else. It was a close call.”
Hyunjin looks at her with a soft fondness as he presses his cheek to her head in a sweet gesture.
“Of course Y/N,” he responds, “I’ll always wait for you.”

Part 1
As you watched Wooyoung prepare dinner for everyone, the feeling of remorse sat heavily on your shoulders as the culpable feeling of regret gnawed at you from within. Every time you thought about what you were doing, your stomach twisted and churned with guilt.
It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
It was supposed to be a simple payback but now that you thought about it, nothing about it was simple from the start. It had almost been a year since you began your relationship with Wooyoung that had spilled over with the rest of the boys. Initially, you heard about them from your best friend whose younger brother was dating Wooyoung’s sister. Then you saw them around the Institute occasionally, since like you, they were spies in training. They joined a sister organization adjacent to yours and so, you would work alongside each other from time to time. Although, you were never on the same team for missions.
But perhaps it would have remained a professional relationship - if only Wooyoung’s sister didn’t break Beomgyu’s heart the way she did.
If only she was loyal and honest, maybe you wouldn’t be in this situation today. First, she lied and cheated, then she proceeded to humiliate him at the inauguration ceremony for new spy recruits. You remembered that evening vividly. Beomgyu had always been shy so it took a lot of courage to confess how much she meant to him that night. As everything unraveled, you were seething with anger alongside your best friend Ara. Before you knew it though, Ara was already on the other side of the hall, grabbing the girl by her ponytail and slamming her into a table before dunking her into the fountain. It took six people to get her off the girl.
That should’ve been enough revenge.
But for Ara, it wasn’t. She seethed in animosity and fury for months and then in sadness as she watched her sibling drown in heartbreak, humiliation and pain. Then she approached you. She snooped around for more information about the girl and discovered she had a younger brother - Wooyoung.
“An eye for an eye.” she claimed.
You could have said no. There was no need for you to get involved. But you considered Beomgyu to be like a younger brother so you agreed, albeit apprehensively. So now here you were - semi-cohabiting with all eight boys and they were nothing like what people had described about them. They kept to themselves and hardly interacted outside of their established circle so most claimed they were stand-offish and haughty. But in reality, they were kind, sweet, thoughtful and friendly.
Hongjoong, Yeosang and Jongho weren’t big fans of public displays of affection but rather preferred showing their affection in the safe spaces that were their rooms. On the other hand, Seonghwa and Yunho, who would seem intimidating because of their height, were sweethearts who didn’t mind small gestures such as either holding hands or being back-hugged in public unless it resulted in both of you tumbling down a hill…which happened only once. Meanwhile, San and Mingi were in-between because of their shy nature, while Wooyoung didn’t mind letting the whole world know how much you meant to him.
You couldn’t break their hearts.
So, you made another plan. In the next few days you had an upcoming mission that was out of the country and that would last a month, with perhaps a few weeks extra spilling over into the next. In that time, you would be unable to be in contact regularly so slowly, you would begin to distance yourselves from them. You weren’t going to tell them when you’ll be back and hopefully soon enough, the message would be clear.
As you replayed your foolproof plan in your head, Wooyoung draped himself over you while the others chattered amongst themselves as the evening wore on and dinner concluded. He ran his fingers through your hair and prodded your head with his nose to seek your attention as he swayed the two of you back and forth.
“You okay?” he whispered.
As you snapped out of your thoughts, you looked up to see the sweet, tender look he gave you - one that was filled with adoration and so much love. You nodded sweetly with a soft smile that you hoped was convincing before melting yourself deeper into his embrace, tracing circles on his forearm. He welcomed the gesture warmly and pressed a chaste kiss to your temple.
“I love you so much.” he murmured in your ear.
Everything inside you felt like it was frozen in place as you processed his words. Wooyoung said he loves you and though you tried to convince yourself that what you were planning was the best decision, you couldn’t ignore that bubbling feeling of warmth and tenderness that rushed in your veins when he said it - you felt the same.
On the way home, you were lost in thought. Your heart ached at the idea of never talking to the boys again. Each of them in their own way had left an impact that made your heart flutter and cheeks turn red. And after Wooyoung’s confession earlier and his sneaky kiss that may have turned into a small but passionate makeout session in a corner of the hallway right next to the elevator, you were distressed. It was unexpected like his confession. You were almost to the elevators when you felt a hand grab you and suddenly, you were being pulled into the cozy corner. Startled but aware of the familiar presence, especially by the bracelet on his arm that was identical to yours, you turned your gaze to find Wooyoung once again, staring at you with so much love and adoration before he pressed his lips to yours.
Arriving at your organization’s headquarters, you bumped into another figure who stood up to greet you but you didn’t see. It was Beomgyu. You both looked at each other with a sad smile, one that didn’t need any questioning because you both knew what it meant. The two of you strolled into the lobby in silence before Beomgyu turned to you and finally spoke.
“I’m sorry I’ve put you through this.” he laments.
“No,” you answer tiredly rubbing your face, “It’s on me. I agreed to it with Ara.”
“Still, I should’ve stopped you both.” he mumbles, “But…I also wanted revenge. At the time it felt so right.”
You couldn’t fault him, at one point, it seemed “right” to you too.
“It’s okay, I’ll figure it out.”
Before he can continue, you both hear a tick that raises alarm bells in your minds. The two of you turn around warily, unsure of what it is and where it's coming from, but before either of you can react, the wall explodes. Beomgyu grabs and pushes you under him to the ground behind a wall to protect the two of you.
After a few minutes of you trying to catch your bearings and soothe the unrelentless ringing in your ears, you look towards the debris and notice a small paper neatly rolled and tied with a gold string right in the middle of the floor, untouched by the rubble. Picking it up to read it, your blood runs cold with the three big words sprawled out in red.
“You’ve been warned.”

Chapter 1
It rained when everything fell apart.
But before that, you loved the rain. You were from the lone district, a place that only experienced either clear skies and intense sunlight or overcast skies with steady or torrential downpours. Usually Summer was much more prominent so when it rained, you welcomed it with open arms. The weather held sentimental value to you and you were certain there was nothing that could make you dislike rainy weather.
It rained when you met Chan. You were only 12 years old, and he had just moved right next to your home. As the droplets began to splatter and become more intense, Chan tried to make a run inside with his childhood dog in his arms. Unfortunately for him, the cheerful and friendly pooch had other plans. The small and cute creature broke free from his embrace and barreled its way right into your legs as you appeared into its view. You fell into the mud with Chan screaming “Berry, noooo!” and rushing to your side to help.
It drizzled when you met Minho and Jisung. It had actually rained earlier in the day so the forest was a muddy and slippery ground at the time. While you and Chan mindlessly tossed pebbles into the vast lake that was nestled in the forest, out of nowhere, two boys came skating and screaming down the hill. Jisung was at the forefront and he tightly grasped Minho’s hand like his life depended on it while the latter wailed and yelled at him to let him go. They both fell right into the cold water.
It was foggy when you met Changbin due to the sudden torrential downpour that lingered for days. You were at the border that separated the lone district from the capital city, Pruvine. The border was adorned with lush berry bushes that bore the sweetest berries you ever tasted. However, it was a risk to be on the border alone. Pruvine Surviellants, just like the citizens, were not fond of people from the district, unless you were able to be of use for something. Surviellants would antagonize your people before finding some excuse to arrest them and bring them in for questioning. You were forbidden from going to the border by yourself but unfortunately for your parents, you had selective hearing and nothing could stop you from your berry addiction. So when you were ambushed and chased by a guard dog, Changbin grabbed your wrist to prevent you from falling down a slope and pulled you with him to safety.
And it had a torrential downpour when you met Seungmin, Felix and Jeongin. They were three close friends who spent most of their days lounging on top of the highest trees in the forest, staring out the Academy that stood beautifully in the capital. When a downpour began, they remained in their spots protected by the trees while the five of you were down below seeking shelter. Jisung who was panicked as he began to recall the last time he was in the forest and the muddy ground, scampered up one of the trees which Felix was on and refused to come down. The rest of you joined him on the other trees in close proximity and befriended the trio as you waited for the storm to pass. By the end of the day, your group was now a total of eight.
Truly you believed there was nothing to make you dislike rain.
You enjoyed living in the lone district despite the political unrest between Pruvine and the undercity. Pruvine is the city that flourished and prospered with wealth and the latest technology. The metropolis was a sprawling canva of urbanity as it was always buzzing with ceaseless activity from merchants, politicians and important people who came from all over the world. Its market was always bustling with activity and it was a buzzing hub for commerce. The city was adorned with towering buildings and pillars that were a testament to its grandeur and the ancient walls that were deeper into the centre were steeped in history, whispering tales from long ago.
On the other hand, the undercity was a dystopian community that was tucked away in an underground somewhere right off the cliff at the end of the forest. It was a community that felt the heavy injustice of the Pruvine Council after the failed rebellion centuries ago. It was said to be a gloomy landscape with a sprawling labyrinth of alleys. However, you also heard that the nightlife of the undercity was a spectrum of neon signs and lively bars. The city came alive at night and the after-hours was a playground for night owls with rumored rooftop bars, offering panoramic views of the starlit cityscape.
The lone district was right in between the two parallel cities. Your home was a petite town that was neatly crammed right next to the neighbouring vast forest. Descendants from the district were rumoured to have been from the undercity, who sought to establish their own home due to the continuous unrest and then failed uprising. It would definitely explain why Pruvine civilians did not take too kindly to your people.
But despite the neverending social turbulence, you liked your home - you had your friends and family and that’s all that mattered.
Until, Chan went off to the Academy. Despite the personal vendettas Pruvine citizens may have towards your people, there was no law barring you or anyone from your district to attend the Academy. You could if you chose to but it did require a very heavy and lengthy entrance examination. Perhaps it was the city’s way to show their equality and egalitarianism.
Since that courtesy was not extended to the undercity’s civilians.
Chan always considered potentially trying to enrol into the Academy. And after he met you and the boys, he was determined to secure a place and further his education. It would mean that he could create an avenue for a better life for everyone. He envisioned that you all would come to the city to live and have the most comfortable lifestyle the city had to offer. Despite your uneasiness and uncertainty with anything related to Pruvine, you trusted Chan and supported him in his efforts.
Till, he returned with a new friend. Kiara was the daughter of wealthy politicians and her mother sat on the Pruvine Council. She was nice, to the others at least. She avoided any one-on-one conversations with you and steered clear of your company if the others had left the two of you alone in the room. She kept close to Chan (much to your chagrin) and befriended Changbin, Seungmin, Felix and Jeongin easily. As far as Minho and Jisung were concerned, she seemed nice but neither really found it important to be close to her. However, Minho in particular began to notice her odd behaviour towards you. She would make back-handed compliments and subtly discredit any achievements you had. The others didn’t pick up on it since she was good at making it seem like a harmless and normal conversation. Minho wasn’t there the first few times she did it but then she made the mistake of saying it in front of him, and he was quick to reply to her with a snarky remark. She laughed it off initially but then sulked to Chan that Minho didn’t like her. Chan comforted her but their close proximity was a little too close to your liking.
But who were you to say anything? Chan wasn’t your boyfriend, so while your heart felt like it was being tugged mercilessly, you bit your tongue. You ignored it as best you could until you couldn’t.
It was raining when Kiara decided to host a party at Chan’s to celebrate him completing his first year. She refused to leave his side and it was clear, she did not want to leave the two of you alone even for a second. She invited a few of their classmates and dragged him along to mingle with her. You could feel the stares and hear the whispers of gossip that were about you, because every time you tried to approach Chan, she would pull him away.
Ultimately, it all became too much, the living room you knew so well at Chan’s that was always homely, cozy and welcoming, began to feel too small and suffocating. So when nobody was looking, you ran off into and headed to the forest to breathe.
You felt like a failure. Although you knew Kiara was horrible and whatever issue she had with you was one-sided and clearly rooted in some kind of jealousy, you couldn’t shake off the feeling of inferiority. She was pretty and educated, she had seen the world while you never left the district, she was ambitious and talented at dance. And just yesterday, you heard Chan’s mom tell yours what a good match she would be for Chan.
And of course she would be. You were just a girl from the lone district, you did not want to attend the Academy, quite frankly, you would never step foot in Pruvine if you could.
You were just you.
The rain had stopped for a while. As you got deeper into the forest though, you felt light droplets on your skin - it was beginning to drizzle. Just as you were about to make up your mind to turn back, you heard a marching of footsteps coming your way. Immediately, your heart began to hammer in your chest. It was already late and the sky above you was starting to become unnaturally dark with layers of gigantic and heavy clouds giving off an ominous and threatening feeling. There was a sudden flickering of white light bursting across the sky and in the distance, thunder began to rumble. It was beginning to get foggy and the wind seemed to escalate in strength, rattling the branches of the trees.
Before you could even take a step, you were shoved to the ground with a menacing figure towering over you ready to attack. With all your might you kicked him and bolted deeper into the forest. More foreign voices filled your ears and you distinctly heard a gruff voice yelling to ‘get her.’ A torrential shower hammered down soon after and you tumbled with every step you took as the ground became slippery and muddy. You were covered in mud and your hands were covered in cuts. You were freezing cold as the temperature dropped. You felt nothing but blind terror and dread twisted in your gut as you came to the clearing of the cliff. You were trapped. Suddenly, you were being attacked and hit from all sides. You felt the blood beginning to leak down your face, and as it mixed with the rain it stained your clothes. One of the perpetrators grabbed your arm and as you tried to pull back your sleeve was ripped.
You were bruised and bloodied as you fell to the ground. Just as one of the goons was about to land the final blow, Jisung’s voice rang through the forest calling for you. The group scampered away and a blurry Jisung came into view. He cried and screamed your name, running to you and hugging you close, begging you to remain conscious. You faintly heard him mention the words help and Chan before running as fast he could back into the forest.
There were a few things you remembered that night. As you laid on the ground slowly teetering into unconsciousness, you saw three silhouettes come up from the bushes. Fear spiked in your body but there was nothing you could do. As your eyes began to flutter shut and you slowly accepted your fate, a gentle hand caressed your head.
That’s all you remembered as everything faded to black.
Oh, and you also never liked rain again.
