she's new to this whole thing. she never thought she'd be travelling in a time machine with an alien she met in the middle of a city during a mission. but she's looking for purpose, looking for somewhere to belong. maybe somewhere out there in space, she would find what she was looking for. attention returns to the doctor as he speaks and she is less than impressed. ❛ it looks ridiculous. ❜ she's blunt, straight to the point with her opinion. but hey, they've landed and now it's time to see if he was telling the truth or if this was all an elaborate ruse by a crazy person. she watches him move towards the door with a bit of speed. and while she does follow, she's a little slower with her movements, taking the time to throw her vest with many pockets on. how many weapons does she have on her person right now? not enough, if you ask her. yelena hears his question and she takes a beat to answer.

❛ excited? i do not know. but i am prepared. and i am ready to fight my way out of a bad thing. ❜

the doctor is used to rough landings by now, but perhaps he should have given yelena more warning. ❛ hey! it's not stupid, it's cool. it's a fez. ❜ has she never seen one before? talk about sheltered. there's a slightly odd tang in the air- probably due to their slight crash landing. he sighs, rubbing his hands together. ❛ let's go look at the damage- ❜ but he spares a glance to the monitor to make sure they're not about to open the doors to some uninhabitable atmosphere. nope- looks about alright! practically runs to the door, looking back to see if the other is following behind.

the look on his face says it all and she suddenly feels a little bad for not picking up on his joke. she's still working on that. ❛ you said it, i thought you had- ❜ she stops, shoulders slumping a little. ❛ i was thinking about my sister. ❜

"What?!"  Alexei  looked  at  her  all  confused  now.  "What  would  I  do  with  your  gun?  It  was  a  joke,  why  are  you  so  sad?"

the response to his sigh comes in the form of an eye roll. ❛ it was just boring. no excitement. what is the point in doing something where nothing happens? ❜

A  sigh.  "Fine,  next  time  we'll  have  more  action.  Was  it  really  that  bad?"

there's a silent nod before yelena stands, moving around the room to look for the bug. hand reaches into her pocket and pulls out an earpiece, which she promptly puts in. a few seconds pass and she suddenly switches directions, following the buzzing in her ear until it becomes louder and the recording device is found. yelena drops it on the ground and crushes it beneath her foot before returning the earpiece to one of her many pockets in her vest. ❛ there. now we can talk freely. very rude of whoever left that there. ❜

"are you serious?" she lowered her voice to a whisper and started tip toeing around.

❛ hmm, i would call that spying. just spying for you, not another person. which is good as it means i will not have to kill you. ❜ not that yelena is planning to adding more blood to her hands, not unless she absolutely has to. life or death situations, when there's no other choice... things like that. ❛ did you learn anything of interest then? come on, you have to share. it is only fair. ❜

“I wouldn’t call it spying…” She started explaining, gesturing with her hands. “I was just …observing. From a distance. Because… I tought maybe I could learn something from you. It’s not like I was watching you to report back to someone else. That would be spying, right? So that’s not what I was doing.”
