at approximately 7:30 am on the day of the shooting, a girl by the name of sarah leary, who had known eric since freshman year, spotted him in the school's parking lot donning a "white t-shirt, jeans, and a plaid flannel". eric then gave sarah a hug and asked why she was all dressed up, to which sarah explained she had a function outside of school happening that same morning. after briefly speaking to one another, they separated by the art hallway. it was leary's last time ever talking with her friend or seeing him alive.
