Learn To Keep A Calm Demeanour

One of the most insidious pathologies of our generation is the erratic mind and the loud character. Social media and the general culture have wired us to have multiple, and at times conflicting, thoughts racing through our brains and keeping us in a constant state of emotional distress.

Learning to tame our minds, to take deep breaths and look at things from a calm, composed, and rational perspective is a lost art in our world. When we can hit the breaks to our racing thoughts and the irrational behaviour that often follows them, we can make decisions, view things, and experience life in a much more appropriate and mature way.

There is no need to feel like you constantly have to be on your nerves, or to feel like everything needs a strong reaction from you. It's ok to go through life at ease, at your own pace, and with the conviction that there is a time and place for everything.

1 lesson I knew but really had to live through in 2022 was “go where you are treasured.”

Refuse to be present in spaces where you are not welcomed; where you are not truly seen and deeply known; where your talents and skills aren’t utilized; where your thoughts don’t matter and aren’t listened to; where you are not considered, appreciated, and loved.

Your presence is a gift. You are a gem, you are rare. Go where you are treasured ❥

Once you fall out of “favor” with people, meaning once you don’t live up to their standards, once you speak the truth about them, once you separate yourself from their drama & cultivate a life of peace and joy in the Lord, they begin to turn their backs on you + build up false testimony against you. If they did it to Jesus, my dear you are not the exception. Make sure God finds favor in you, that’s all that really matters. He will take care of the rest.
