Kai brushes Damon aside like a gnat. The others are left frozen in place not able to move no matter how much willpower they used. “Every game has a prize.” Kai said. Bonnie met the stormy blue eyes of the man head on. Seconds seemed like minutes and minutes felt like hours as they stared at one another. Kai’s smile deepens. Damon sits up on his elbows watching the two with slow dawning realization. “No!” He scrambles to his feet. “You can’t have her!” “Every game has a prize,” he repeated. “And I never lose.” A fire lights inside Bonnie at his words. “Prepare to have your perfect record broken.”

BonKai Forbidden Game AU: Bonnie buys her boyfriend, Damon, a board game for his 25th birthday. The mysterious man behind the counter selling it to her both unnerves and captures her attention. Bonnie and her six friends start the Game for Damon’s party transforming a night of fun into one of untold terror. The seven college students are brought to the world of the Game where Kai reigns as the Lord of Shadows. One by one the friends must confront their worst fears to win the Game because to lose the Game is to lose their lives.

I was so touched by that scene with Bonnie and the twins. The girls had just accidentally killed her by siphoning her magic, but they believe they saved her. She asks for a kiss for luck and they touch her instead and she lets them. The twins who were starting to be isolated for what they are, who can kill witches with a touch and they’re only shown love, acceptance and affection.

Contrast with Kai and it’s heartbreaking.
