sjin’s victims deserve an apology for this

although his behaviour had been going on for 2-3 years (minimum) by this point, in spring 2016 several of sjin’s victims went public at once and news spread quickly around the fandom. this is what caused the yogscast fandom “mass exodus” you may have heard about. lewis and turps addressed the “drama” crimes during their 14th april 2016 stream “deck rippers”. you can find their full conversation here.

lewis needs to apologise for these words. a real apology, not an excuse, and not one of those hand-wringy, passive-voice, victim-blaming, exonerative “apologies.” this doubtless deeply hurt every victim who saw it, plus every s*xual abuse survivor fan who had no involvement with sjin, and even many fans (like me) with no personal stakes in the matter besides feeling betrayed by the fandom I had spent 5 years in. the victims deserve an apology, i am not asking for one for myself.

Yes. I am so glad that Sjin has left. Even though it was a total non-apology and no one truly recognised the damage he has done.

It isn't perfect, and it took far too long, but I am glad.

Yogscast Sjin - A threat?

UPDATE: People keep asking, so fuck it. At the end of this post I am adding all of the screenshots that I have. I’m sorry that it isn’t more but Skype doesn’t keep old messages, and my conversations with Kim and Hannah were in different places. Due to a break-up I deleted my old Twitter so have lost all of my DMs with Kim and Hannah, and I deleted my old Tumblr which again has conversations with Hannah where she told me for the first time that Sjin had gotten into trouble in the past, which is when he was cheating on Minty. (I had discussed this with Kim in the past on my now deacitvated Facebook but she was still relatively knew and didn’t know anything about any of this.)

I don’t expect to get anything other than, “THIS IS SHOPPED/BULLSHIT/ETC.!” messages, but what else am I supposed to do? All I can do is give you what I have.

We still have no idea if there is any validity to the very worst claims, all we know for sure is that Sjin is a serial cheater and repeatedly broke the Yogscast rules that Lewis apparently set up (this was mentioned in a livestream recently apparently?) that they do not engage sexually with fans.

And I wish to reiterate that what went on between Sjin and I was between two consenting adults. Yes it did make me feel very uncomfortable but that’s no surprise with it just being an extremely weird situation.

Also known as - the longest God damn Tumblr post ever. Serious commendation if you somehow read this long, confusing mess.

Okay so I have been holding off of doing this for two years, but having seen some similar issues popping up around Tumblr recently I decided to do this and get it out of my system.

Basically, this is for me, and I am aware that it means that I am probably going to get an extremely negative amount of attention directed at me, but it is like water off of a duck’s back. Ultimately I guess that this post exists because I do not know if Sjin is behaving like I want to believe that he is, and I am so worried about the possibility of him making people (fans, vulnerable) feel bad.

I would also like to make it clear that I have never and will never have any ill feelings towards Kim or Hannah, they are two of the nicest people that I have ever spoken to and I wish them nothing but the best. Please do not, under any circumstances, hassle them about this.

The same goes for Erin, Sjin’s girlfriend, who is an absolute delight, and Sjin’s ex, Minty, who again joins the tally of people who are just shockingly lovely.

Want to direct your anger somewhere? As much as I look up to him, direct it at Lewis.

Also, a disclaimer: No, I’m not going to produce any screenshots here. Do I have them? Yes. So why am I not posting them? Because I don’t need to. I do not fancy blurring out details like usernames and locations, and I really do not care even in the slightest that you do not believe me. It is irrelevant.

You failed to mention in the sjin post how there is no proof of sjin saying he did any of the things he did such admitting he had sex with a 13-14 year old and as well as that it is an 'allegation' meaning that it is unknown if these claims are true

Pretty sure that I made it clear that I have no evidence that he did these things, and that I am only relaying allegations that have been expressed to me.

Unless these people are underage, which then these children are susceptible to mostly any form of a idol taking advantage of them. But as grown adults these situations are a two way street. And just because these people create content that you enjoy, doesn't mean they hold actual power over you. That's my thoughts on it, still hope whatever happened back then has gotten better with time. And if you got any more info about sjin I would like to know (2/2)

I just saw your posts about Sjin allegedly behaving inappropriate and what he allegedly did. tbh, I can't help but stand on his side - for two reasons: 1. You clearly baited him multiple times (as seen in the screenshots), 2. Instead of discussing this with Lewis or the other Yogsmembers first (I mean, you were in contact with Kim before?), you took this str8 to tumblr and your twitter acc. I can only really recommend being patient, trying to feel confident that you don't need your parents acceptance in order for your identity to be valid, and to give him time.

Try to be yourself regardless of your Father, who may come around with time in seeing how much happier you are, but also take care of yourself and try not to out yourself into any dangerous situations
