She saddled the pipe, sleeves rolled up, and carefully connected the pipes with both hands, letting the heat and fire pour through her into the metal.

the trauma Olympics I've seen with Nesta and Feyre in regards to their mother is absolutely bonkers. I've seen people say Nesta *wasnt* abused. She just "had a mean mom". I've seen people say she was "valuable" to their mom so Feyre had it worse bec she was being neglected. its insane. it's so crazy how many people do not realize the different levels of trauma that can occur between different siblings based on when they were born. hell TODAY eldest daughters already deal with an abhorrent amount of parentification and pressure (not to say, ofc, others don't) now imagine that level of responsibility on your shoulders in the medieval age. The degree of differences in parenting your kids were going to be vastly different from eldest daughter vs youngest daughter in wealthy social circles. The eldest daughter is sold off for wealth, stability, ranking, etc like. they both had it awful. Nesta, from a young age, was made to be able to seduce fully adult men and was raised as a tool to further her mother's social standing. feyre was ignored and neglected and cast aside. they're BOTH awful STOP PITTING THESE GIRLS AGAINST EACH OTHER

is it just me or is the way Patriarchy presents in Prythian, especially in the NC, just not make sense. like. women are supposed to be repressed and subjugated but the CoN has them all being super revealing clothes. Amarantha was a decorated, high ranking official. Ianthe had men following her orders without difficulty. like. I dunno it's weird man. I can't see like actual rules associated with Patriarchy that actually makes sense outside of like selling off Mor to get married and the obvious (which actually makes sense?????) subjugation of Illyrian women but also doesn't make sense since Emerie is a shop owner that seems to be doing fairly well...? and the lack of High Ladies
and then Tarquins sister (I can't remember her name rn forgive me) seems to be p well established as important and listened to. So was Alis. So is Vivian, like. the only fae female I can tell that actually suffered under "Patriarchy" is Mor and Emerie (and Jesminda) but I could also be missing things lol im not thinking too deeply about it rn

actually I HAVENT thought about Lucien in a bit. my love. the light of my life. this man out here tying up his hair and catching fish with his bare hands. this man out here offering up bangers like "If I offer you the moon on a string, will you give me a kiss, too?". this man out here with gorgeous coppery red hair. this man out here disabled and tortured and still kind and still trying to be better and help people
light of my life Lucien Vanserra

No I say that because all of her '"friends" and "chosen family" were willing to keep crucial medical information from her and are only kind to her because Rhysand likes her...

you: mor was defending Feyre
me, an intellectual: except she's ignoring Feyres wishes of the IC staying out of the affairs involving her sisters, and is now pushing a vendetta on Feyres behalf that she explicitly said she didn't want
you: mor was defending Cassian
me, an intellectual: except Cassian was routinely ignoring the boundaries of a 23 yr old woman, following her home, getting in her space, harassing her and ignoring the verbal orders of telling him to leave her alone

Nesta always being viewed as an "opponent" or a "challenge" for Cassian sure does explain why he certainly feels the need to get her to heel

the Fandoms relationship with Feyre and the Race to Innocence to defend her poor actions and war crimes across the series whether that be to the innocent spring court and summer court citizens or the poor and authoritative actions torwards her sister and their strained relationship
this Fandom has decided Feyre is an eternal victim, she's selfless, she's kind, she's a feminist, shes-
Feyre has committed war crimes that have gotten countless people killed due to a personal vendetta. She has made fun of Lucien and the Band of Exiles and have undermined what they wanted to do. She has locked up her sister and taken away her freedom in the name of "her learning how to control herself" and to "help her" in a very similar way that was done to her- to which she justified the destruction of thr Spring Court in order to further Spurn tamlin
Tumblr media
and quite frankly you can also see it when Feyre does not do anything about helping the Illyrian Women, despite donning their wings and using them in a way they are prohibited from using
you can also see this in her not doing anything to help anyone, especially the women and children, in the CoN. Keir asks for freedom for his people and she responds with questions about his comfort level. And when he, rightfully imo, ignores her, she blames it on being a woman
Events from the first book, especially around her and her sisters and their father, are often used as a way to undermine the impact and destruction Feyre has brought on people around her

nah but the way gender roles and patriarchy and masculinity all differ based on age, race, social status, etc and how the concept of "masculinity" and gender roles could (should) have been portrayed so differently in different courts
literally homophobia, racism, other isms are all components derived from white supremacy and colonization that quite frankly women being subjugated shouldn't be so prevalent across Prythian and what's crazy is that the concept of gender and/or gender roles even in Ancient (pre-colonized) Ireland were also so different. like. come on
