OOC.This moment is so important because Vanessa is finally being completely let into Wilson’s life– she is finally a part of his complete life, even the ugliness. Vanessa’s ultimate desire was to be an equal– not something to be shown off and around. She was not satisfied to be someone’s kept woman, but she wanted an active role, an active role besides Wilson. I have so many feelings about her finally being a part of his life. I love me a power couple, even with questionable morals

“He’s coming with us?” She asks, confused and hesitant.

Her brow furrows as she thinks back to the last vacation she was on, ignoring the most recent one since that was forced upon her.

Her memory lands on Japan. But that was when she and her father were living there, hardly a vacation.

Now her mind returns to the task at hand, convincing her father to take a spontaneous trip to Spain.

“I think it’d be best if you try talking him into it, Mama. I it comes from me, he’ll just ask why it’s Europe and not Asia.” She chuckles and lays her head on the woman’s shoulder, sighs and shuts her eyes momentarily. She’s finally where she’s always wanted be: with a woman, her mother, who she can trust and love and knows she’s protected.

          VANESSA DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE HESITANCE. However, she does not question it either. Better to not anger or provoke what can easily be avoided. How she loved the Fisk family, but they really do needed, both of them, to calm down and relax, to see the sights of this world as much as they could.

            THEN SHE CHUCKLE AND VANESSA RELAXES. Feeling her step daughter’s head on her shoulder pleased her, they had come such a long way. “Well, if he wants the answer than he’ll have to agree, won’t he?” She chuckles herself as they start to pick up after themselves in order to leave. “Spain is beautiful this time of year, have you ever been?”

           SHE CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE THE PAIN. Vanessa does not allow or dare to even do so, for doing so would both disrespect her and her late husband. She had seen very few people who had loved each other with a passion as much as they had and Vanessa felt helpless just listening to how Aphrodite wept. Feeling her curl against her own figure was comforting, made her feel useful in the grand scheme of things. Her hand softly caresses her golden hair softly, trying her best to calm the storm. “You must rest,” Vanessa says, holding her close. “We will plan for everything and anything later, but for now you must be tranquil, for the hard part has just begun.” A pause. “But just know that I will be by your side, for as long as I can, Pacifica.”

The Lioness, his North Star, hates how she weeps, that she would dare show such a weakness. But her husband is dead. The only other person in the world she’s loved with the whole of her heart was dead. He had died protecting her, just as he’d always sworn to. She’d always imagined they’d go down together. So unfair of him to leave her behind! She curls into her one true friend, into the woman she trusted more than anyone else on the earth now. Her friend’s words are heard, but not completely absorbed in her state of grief. She understands Vanessa’s vow, clings to the lifeline of revenge that she swears. But tonight she does not have the energy for revenge, for anger and loathing like she might’ve had it been anyone other than the other half of her soul. “I just can’t believe he’s gone.” The final word tears out of her throat in a sob, still so stricken by grief and hurt that she didn’t even know how to put it into words.

            LET NOBODY UNDERESTIMATE HOW MUCH VANESSA RAGED. Vanessa was a woman of value and hard work, knowing and learning through time how to properly handle and manage people of this world, which is why it struck her as appalling  that he was around, that he approached her as if to see that she kept her in check, to hold a threat when needed.

            PACKING THE LAST OF HER THINGS FROM THE PENTHOUSE, she didn’t give him the grace of turning around, already seeing his reflection from a mirror in front of her. “What do you want, Matthew?” She asks, venom lacing her words. “Haven’t you taken enough?”
