Whenever I see people responding to a show like WWDITS and a ship like Nandermo using the same attitude/phrasing with which they'd respond to like...Supernatural...I just get so sad that this one show managed to do SO much damage to our ability to trust writers who've acted thus far in nothing but good faith and been very open about their intentions from the beginning. WWDITS is not Supernatural. It doesn't have the same writers, the same time period and inherent baggage, the same target audience, it isn't even the same studio.
Does that mean Nandermo will fuck on screen and get married before the end of season 6? Well, no. But it does mean that this is not a show that only begrudgingly acknowledged its own queer origins, subtext, and fanbase after over a decade.
This is a show in which the main characters were queer from almost the very beginning. This is a show without a single straight lead character, where the only gay character is only "the only gay character" because everyone else is bisexual. Where the queerness is text and just treated as totally normal and unremarkable. Where a character is so used to being surrounded by queerness that she forgets straight people exist.
This is also a show where the showrunners saw the chemistry between two characters not intended as love interests and pivoted immediately to embrace and build on that chemistry, to the point that by now they're saying these two have been in a love story from the start. Where they hem and haw about the details of the endgame to avoid actual spoilers, but never shy away from the fact that these two are each other's most significant relationship and love each other and are perfect for each other and can't let each other go (all things actually said by the cast and writers).
This is not Destiel. This is not Supernatural. This is not "which could mean nothing!" every time someone validates that Nandermo is real. It means everything! Let yourself heal from the 15 year queerbait!

Do you ever think about Nandor standing in the shadows before his wedding, smiling wistfully down at Guillermo as Guillermo promises to stay by his side? Do you ever think about the way that was a vow, and what Nandor was really looking for all along?

having now watched all 5 seasons of wwdits: if i was guillermo i would give them all ipads loaded up with baby sensory videos with silly straws full of blood and then i would go about my day. based on my research this is a foolproof plan because none of them could resist a dancing ai generated strawberry. for laszlo i would give all of the fruits very tiny penises

I’d like to point out the necessity of fact checking original sources when possible. It was a major part of my day job working with the youths when they’d bring information in, and it’s a skill that I encourage everyone to use. I’d also like to salute this user for their comment, because I’d certainly like to include that note most times and I think it healed some inner trauma to see it freely expressed.

can you guys calm the fuck down for one goddamn second

“WILL THEY/WONT THEY WHAT?”
“WILL THEY/WONT THEY WHAT?”
“WILL THEY/WONT THEY WHAT?”

HE DIDN’T ANSWER DIRECTLY.
He’s so sly. 😉
WE ARE SO BACK. (I’m high energy right now btw)

I'll never understand the Nandermo Is Over stuff because...what? You think five seasons of obvious love and devotion and Harvey and Kayvan's incredible, nuanced performances of two fucked up people in love don't matter because of how it might end? Like first of all, you're basing this off what? A hiatus interview? When we all well know that writers cannot be trusted to say anything substantively true during hiatus?
But really...you think the metric fuckton of beautiful fanart and fic and meta and all the fanvids and conversations had and glorious cosplays and gifsets and web weavings that deal untold psychic damage are less beautiful or meaningful if it isn't validated by some guy?
From a certain angle, I get it. Being baited sucks. If anything, it sucks more from a show that has so much queerness built into its DNA, because...just, why? And IF the worst happens, of course I'll be upset because we do deserve a good queer slow burn, goddammit!
But shipping itself has never been dependent on or limited to what's canon, and canon has absolutely no bearing on when or if a ship is declared "over." And as someone who's lived through the literal Worst Queerbait of All Time, I promise you, nothing was over.
So like. Nandermo Forever, actually.

Now that Eurovision is over, I want you all, especially the Americans, to take a good hard look at how the voting results turned out when people boycotted the event.
In the UK, the viewing figures were down about 2 million people compared to last year. Up to 2 million people made the conscious decision to not watch and not vote because of Israel's inclusion.
The final results of the public vote, Israel came in first place in the UK and got 12 points. Because the only people watching and voting were people who backed Israel or at least didn’t care one way or another.
This doesn't matter. It's a music contest. The boycott was still the right thing to do because it is just a show at the end of the day, and the viewing figures have more impact than the results.
But it is also a good object lesson to show you what happens if you boycott a vote over something that does matter. Choosing not to vote in, let's say, a presidential election will have similar results.

Dark Greetings!
Behold, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows fandom fangbangers, friends, and familiars alike have united to support Justice for Palestine in the name of our beloved fictional vampire, Nandor the Relentless.
To support this mission, girl-wives, guy-wives and Steves from six countries have selected a Go Fund Me through Operation Olive Branch with a goal of targeted donations to help families fleeing Palestine. This inaugural fan-run campaign will be active May 17th-20th.
In order to participate, make a donation to the Go Fund Me linked below. Then, post your favorite of your own WWDITS fanworks, your receipt from the donation, and use the #berelentless tag in addition to the other supportive tags for awareness (i.e. #operation olive branch, #free palestine, #ceasefire now, etc.).
The number one priority is to make donations to help Saja Saqallah and her family. If you cannot participate financially, please still share the Go Fund Me link.
If Saja's family meets their goal, we have another family we'd also like to help, so follow @be-relentless for updates!

This is my most popular addition to a post. Wanted to let y’all know about a thing. I love y’all and this fandom.
If Laszlo can fuck the dead ghost of his wife who is inhabiting his wife's body which is also inhabited by the soul of a middle-aged man whom has no memory that Laszlo raised him while his wife watches from inside a doll, then I think Guillermo should get to fuck his boss.
