𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘆?
On the evening of February 9th, 2004, a resident of Woodsville, New Hampshire, witnessed a car crash on the route 112 highway. The driver was 21-year-old Maura Murray, a nursing student at the university of Massachusetts Amherst. When the witness approached Maura’s car to help her, she was quickly dismissed by Maura, who stated that she had already called for roadside assistance. An empty wine box lay on the passenger seat, and red wine stained the car’s upholstery. Now concerned, the witness contacted emergency services and headed home. When police officers arrived at the scene less than 20 minutes later, Maura Murray had vanished.
This is where the case begins to get weird; Th e events leading up to Maura’s disappearance are as creepy as they are sad. For a start, Maura had emailed her university professors and boss on the day of her disappearance, explaining that she needed a week off due to a sudden death in the family. However, this was not the case. According to her family, nobody had died. On Thursday, February 5th, just four days before she went missing, Maura broke down crying at her campus security job and reportedly “zoned out” for hours. and then finally, Two days before she went missing, she crashed her dad’s Toyota Corolla into a guard rail, causing around $10,000 dollars worth of damage. It is unknown whether or not she was driving under the influence. The last conversation that Maura had with her family, was in the form of a phone-call with her father who reminded her to collect the accident forms for the collision. They agreed to talk again on Monday, perhaps neither of them knowing that Monday would be the last day Maura Murray was seen alive.
In the years since her disappearance, there has only been one alleged sighting of Maura. A contractor returning home from work described a young person running along the highway some 4 miles away from where Maura was last seen. The supposed sighting aside, something creepier has happened, something that arguably adds a whole new level of mystery to the case. On February 8th, 2012, a YouTube user by the name of 112DirtBag uploaded this video, titled simply “HAPPY ANNIVERSARY”.
Although this may just be another case of callous internet trolling, or a random stranger having some fun, there’s no denying that there are some eerie coincidences. For instance, the video was uploaded a day before the 8 year anniversary of Maura’s disappearance, and the user’s name also contains the name of the highway she crashed on, (112). Despite the speculation, there is no way of knowing for sure if the strange video is connected to the case, although the man’s YouTube account mysteriously deactivated and he has never been formally identified.

hey true crime community
just a reminder it’s okay to
•learn about cases
•learn about what made them do it
•learn about mental disorders
you know what’s not okay:
•fan pages
•mood boards
•”kin” bullshit
•edits of them
there is a big difference between learning about cases and being interested than wanting Eric Harris to fuck you- and if you even think that way please kill yourself and block me

‘’One young lady named Jessica, who sent an E-mail to us, relayed this incident: ‘‘I met Rachel at a gas station. I was short five cents so she pulled a nickel out of her pocket and set it on the counter. When I ask her who she was, she told me this;  ‘’Rachel Scott, good to meet you, friend.’’
I didn’t know her, but her kindness and her smile has stuck with me even though is years later.’’ ‘’ - Beth Nimmo.

On this day 20 years ago we tragically lost 15 people at Columbine High School, Colorado. Those people go by the names of:
Cassie Bernall
Corey DePooter
Daniel Mauser
Daniel Rohrbough
David Sanders
Isaiah Shoels
John Tomlin
Kelly Fleming
Kyle Velasquez
Lauren Townsend
Matt Ketcher
Rachel Scott
Steve Curnow
Eric Harris
Dylan Klebold
20 years ago hearts were broken globally. Lives were taken away and families were left behind. Potential filled young people were robbed of their lives and futures - as you say a casual goodbye to your family members, carers, friends, roomates this morning please consider those 15 families who had experienced the last “Goodbye” to ever be heard from their loved ones.
Take a moment to remember all of these people, no matter their part in the tragedy, and their relations who are likely still aching at their losses even after two decades.
Those two whole decades would have been times for birthdays, marriage, kids, jobs, love, laughter, hope.
Never forget.
So many questions.
So many tears.
So many affected people.
We mourn over the 15 young people taken away on this day, we shed a tear for those who are suffering most today, we raise a glass up to the skies to those we have lost.
And please, keep comments positive and hopeful just for today, respect everyone, respect each other.
Rest in Peace to the angels of Columbine. ❤️

The Unsolved Deaths of Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers
The Unsolved Disappearance and Deaths of Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In April of 2014, college graduate Lisanne Froon and her roommate Kris Kremers took a six week trip to Panama as a congratulatory vacation for a freshly graduated Lisanne. The plan for the trip was to volunteer with children and learn Spanish. After only three weeks of being in Panama, both girls disappeared after a hiking trip near Baru Volcano. Nearly two months after their disappearance, Lisanne’s backpack was found containing both cell phones, her digital camera, and miscellaneous personal effects from both girls. Located within the cellular devices and digital camera was nearly 100 attempted 911 calls, suspicious photos taken of unknown landmarks and a photo depicting a seemingly injured Kris. When the partial remains of both girls were discovered four months after they went missing, it only raised more questions.
Lisanne Froon was known by those closest to her as optimistic, dedicated, and responsible. She had graduated with a degree in Applied Science the previous September and worked as a waitress in a cafe near her home. Lisanne’s roommate, Kris Kremers also worked with Lisanne and was known to be extremely creative and open minded. The two saved for six months in order to take the trip to Panama and on March 15, 2014 they arrived at their destination and planned to stay there for two weeks before going to Boquete to stay with a local family while they volunteered with children.
On April 1st around 11:00 a.m. the girls left the family home with their dog to go hiking near the clouded forests that surrounded Baru Volcano. Shortly before they left for the hike one of the girls posted on facebook about their intention of exploring Boquete for the day and were seen having lunch with two Dutch men before they walked onto the trail. The host family they were staying with became alarmed when their dog returned home without the girls and the next day, both girls’ parents were informed of their disappearance. On April 3rd, both families and Netherland authorities arrived in Panama to perform a ten day search of the forest where they were last seen. The parents of Lisanne and Kris offered a $30,000 reward for any information leading to their location.
Ten weeks after their disappearance, Lisanne’s bookbag was located in a rice paddy near a river bank in the village of Alto Romero; inside the backpack was $83 (U.S.) in cash, two bras, Froon’s passport and both phones still in good condition.
Upon investigating the contents of both cellular devices and Froon’s camera, it was discovered that 77 attempted calls were placed to emergency services but none of them went through due to a lack of service in the area. A photo was taken around the time they entered the forest near a trail at the overlook of the continental divide; this led authorities to believe the girls potentially fell off a cliff when heavy rain moved into the area.
On the day of their disappearance, the girls were seen walking along the trail and wandered into the forest just hours after the first distress call was made at 4:39 p.m. from Kremers iPhone.
April 1st, 4:51 p.m.: A second attempt was made to reach authorities off Froon’s Samsung Galaxy SIII. (Called 112-Panama’s distress line)-Unsuccessful
April 2nd, 6:14 a.m.: An attempt to call 112 was made from Kremers iPhone-Unsuccessful
6:58 a.m.: An attempt was made to call 112 from Froon’s phone-Unsuccessful
10:53 a.m.: An attempt was made to call 112 and 911- neither calls went through
April 3rd, 9:33 a.m.: An attempt was made from Kremers phone to call 911- Unsuccessful
1:50 p.m.: Froon’s phone is turned on to check for potential signal
4:00 p.m.: Kremer’s phone is turned on to check for a signal
4:19 p.m.: Froon’s phone is turned on to check for cell signal
April 4th, 9:33 a.m.: Kremer’s phone is turned on to check for a signal
4:42 p.m.: Kremer’s phone is turned on to check for a signal
(Froon’s phone was not turned on this day)
April 5th, 10:50 a.m.: Kremer’s phone is turned on to check for service
4:37 p.m.: Kremer’s phone is turned on to check for service
4:50 a.m.: Froon’s phone is turned on to check for service
5:56 a.m.: Froon’s phone is turned on and the battery dies- there was no further activity from Froon’s phone.
April 6th, 10:26 a.m.: Kremer’s phone is turned on to check for service but the pin was entered incorrectly and is not accessed with the correct passcode again (Does this indicate that Kremer passed away on April 5th after the passcode was entered correctly at 4:37 p.m.?) Authorities hypothesize that she slipped and fell off a monkey bridge when a heavy rainfall set on the mountain.
10:51 a.m.: Kremer’s phone is checked again but incorrect passcode is entered again
11:56 a.m.-1:05 p.m.: The final attempts at entering the correct passcode in Kremer’s phone was entered and left on for an hour then turned off and was no turned back on again.
On April 8th between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. 90 flash photos were taken in the deep jungle possibly near a river or a ravine. A few of the photos depicted rocks with miscellaneous personal effects on the top. On one rock there was toilet paper and a mirror, on another there was a twig with candy wrappers and plastic bags and in one photo, the back of Kremer’s head is shown with blood near the temple. It is possible that Lisanne took the photos of the rocks and Kremer’s body in order to track her movements to return to Kris’s body or for authorities to locate her body in the future?
Apart from the backpack found ten weeks after their initial disappearance, nothing else significant was found to solve what happened except when a pair of Kremer’s jean shorts were found a few kilometers away from where Lisanne’s backpag was found. The shorts were zipped and folded neatly on top of a rock by a river bank.
Two months later, a partial pelvis and boot with a foot still attached was located on a river bank along the Culebra. Thirty three more bones were widely spread across the same bank and after DNA testing, it was confirmed that the remains belonged to Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers; their cause of death is still unclassified. A panamanian forensic psychologist claimed that even under intense magnification “There was no discernable scratches of any kind, neither of natural or cultural origin- there are no marks on the bones at all.”
Despite the bones showing no signs of animal predation, Kremer’s bones were seemingly bleached and the manner in which the remains were scattered is still a mystery.
Over the years, countless independent forensic experts studied the case and concluded that Kris Kremers fell off of a “monkey bridge” during heavy rainfall and Lisanne took a picture of her body in order to record what happened to her friend. However, in February of 2017 another college grad student went missing on a trail just 30 miles from where Lisanne and Kris perished. Her body was found shortly after and it was obvious she had been brutalized and strangled with her own swimsuit cover up.
Panamanian authorities detained eight people in connection to her death but no charges have been filed. The Federal Bureau of Investigation gave a press conference shortly after her disappearance that there might be a possible connection between the two cases and it is possible there might be a serial killer in the area.

Beth Nimmo, the mother of Rachel Joy Scott, the first victim killed during the Columbine school shooting, addresses the press after copies of the crime scene had been made available to the public. She holds a copy of the tape in hand. Originally, copies of the crime scene were created a year after the mass shooting to be used for training for emergency responders. The footage, which had music edited in, eventually made its way to the media and general public a year after the shooting, where it could be purchased for $25. Nimmo was horrified that images of hers lifeless daughter’s body being dragged to a fire engine were now easily obtainable to just about anyone. It was the first time she had seen that footage herself.
“Rachel was a dignified girl. It’s very humiliating what they’re doing,” Nimmo tearfully said. “It just crushed me to know that the whole world will see my daughter’s body being handled.”

13-year-old Tammie Anne McCormick has not been seen since the morning of April 29, 1986, in Saratoga Springs, New York. That morning, she missed her morning bus to school and told her sister that she was going to hitchhike. While it is not confirmed whether she really hitchhiked or not, she never made it to school and hasn’t been seen since. At first, Tammie was not reported missing until two days after she was last seen. The reason she was not reported missing sooner was that she would sometimes stay over a friends house and not come home for a day, but once it was realized that she wasn’t at a friends house and hadn’t been attending school, panic began to set in.
Friends of Tammie claimed that she had told them that she was planning on running away to Florida. However, many do not believe this theory, as Tammie took no extra clothing and was wearing clothes that were either worn out or uncomfortable. There have been reported sightings of Tammie not only in Florida but also in Maine, Massachusetts, California, and Vermont. Unfortunately, none of these sightings could be confirmed by law enforcement. Authorities believe that she was killed by Arthur Mason Slaybaugh II, a corrections officer in Wilton, New York who Tammie had a great admiration for and considered a mentor. After law enforcement interviewed numerous people, they concluded that instead of hitchhiking to school, Tammie actually went to Slaubaugh’s house, which was situated near Saratoga Lake. Despite the new leads, the case seems to have gone cold and remains unsolved.
Tammie Anne McCormick was 13 years old at the time of her disappearance, stood at 5'5" (165 cm) and weighed 108 pounds (48 kg). Tammie has light brown hair and hazel eyes. She has a homemade tattoo or scar on her upper left arm of her initials; T.A.M. She was last seen wearing a denim jacket, black corduroy pants, a yellow striped shirt, and beige boots. Some agencies give her date of disappearance as April 19, 1986. If alive, Tammie would be 46 years old, however, foul play is suspected in her case.
If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Tammie Anne McCormick, please contact the Saratoga Springs City Police Department at 518-584-1800.

Glenn Kopitske was adopted by a couple in Winnebago County, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Texas in Dallas before returning back home to live with his parents. As a teenager, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and would receive monthly federal cheques due to his disability but also worked in Wal-Mart and as a substitute teacher. By 37, he was unmarried and had no children; he lived alone in Winnebago County and had few friends.
On the 2nd of August, 2003, Kopitske was discovered dead in his home by his concerned mother who hadn’t heard from him in several days. Due to the summer heat, it was initially believed that Kopitske had died of natural causes. However, an autopsy concluded that Kopitske was shot in the back of the head and stabbed in the chest post-mortem. Investigators searched the scene and found that nothing was missing other than Kopitske’s car keys.
The case went cold for several months but rumours started circulating around the town. Gary Hirte, 17, had contacted a friend a couple of weeks after the murder and asked if he knew anything about it. Hirte then confessed to his friend that he had killed Kopitske and showed him the hunting knife used during the murder. Hirte later confessed to another friend who eventually went to police. The friend agreed to engage Hirte in a recorded telephone call about the murder during which Hirte confessed he killed Kopitske “to see if he could get away with it.”
During the trial, Hirte’s defence lawyer, Gerald Boyle, argued that Hirte and Kopitske had a consensual sexual liaison and afterwards, Hirte flew into a controllable rage after feeling seduced and ashamed. The prosecution, however, argued that the murder was cold and calculated and that Hirte had wanted to experience murder and see if he could outsmart authorities. Witnesses for both the defence and prosecution testified that Hirte showed no remorse. At one point during the trial, Hirte’s mother was recorded saying: “Glenn Kopitske is by no means an innocent victim. I feel there are two victims in this story. Glenn Kopitske lost his life but went to a better place, but Gary lost a promising future as Glenn Kopitske took his innocence.”
The jury sided with the prosecution and and Gary Hirte was sentenced to life imprisonment.
