enjoying this re-read immensely. I have Little House on the Prairie in the queue and I might as well re-read Anne of Green Gables.

I’m feeling emotional. Moonbeam is fixed! Tests look good. Still taking time to introduce him to the cat girls. I mean, they know each other, but the royal princesses don’t know they are most likely getting a brother. He stays in my bathroom with fresh air and a heater and sometimes I let him in my bedroom when I shut the girls out. You guys, after his big vet visit, he cuddled with me in bed. 😭

Not to be all Sally O'Malley about it all, BUT I'M 50! I got my first dose of the shingles vaccine yesterday. Cannot express how much I DO NOT WANT shingles…and how I'm worried that RFK is going to take away my rights to vaccinate.

Y'all, we got him. He's in Mistral's bathroom resting quietly while we get vet care sorted out. Am I going to be a 3 cat cat lady? Maybe? He chose me. This is him in the morning. He walked right into my bedroom and started playing with catnip. My cats only hissed. I wonder if Brooklyn and Lamb want a brother and if they want him to be named Moonbeam? I'm not sure of anything. I'll keep you posted. He's injured and I desperately want him to go get all fixed up and healthy.

The Penitent
by Edna St. Vincent Millay
I had a little Sorrow, Born of a little Sin, I found a room all damp with gloom And shut us all within; And, “Little Sorrow, weep,” said I, “And, Little Sin, pray God to die, And I upon the floor will lie And think how bad I’ve been!”
Alas for pious planning – It mattered not a whit! As far as gloom went in that room, The lamp might have been lit! My little Sorrow would not weep, My little Sin would go to sleep – To save my soul I could not keep My graceless mind on it!
So I got up in anger, And took a book I had, And put a ribbon on my my hair To please a passing lad, And, “One thing there’s no getting by – I’ve been a wicked girl,” said I: "But if I can’t be sorry, why, I might as well be glad!“

Your girl just emailed HR to let them know they left the role of educational audiologist off the list of eligible nominees for employee of the year. Then she went and nominated her damn self!
I’m nominating myself because I believe in the value of the work I do—and I want to bring awareness to a role that often goes unseen. I’m the only Educational Audiologist in the SELPA, serving students across three districts, including [redacted]. While I’ve officially been employed by [redacted] for almost 10 years, my work here began long before that, when I was contracted through [redacted]. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to build our educational audiology service model from the ground up. What began as a part-time support role has evolved into a full-time position that now delivers comprehensive, consistent services for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. I collaborate closely with families, school teams, and specialists to ensure students have meaningful access to the auditory curriculum and spoken language—foundations for full participation in their education. Ultimately, the goal is for every D/HH student to develop the tools and confidence to navigate their listening environments independently. I’m proud of the care, collaboration, and expertise I bring to this work, and I think it’s important to acknowledge all the roles—loud or quiet—that support student success.

Cute skirt and crop top outfit from Banana Republic to wear on my birthday in Mexico
Expensive sandals that look cool and are comfortable and not Birkenstocks.
Things I Received
Lots of love and meaningful cards
Sally O'Malley Earrings (LOL)
These dope pajamas
Hilarious cat art that really made me think of my naughty menace, Little Lamb
