The captive whumpee’s friends revive two separate videos of them. In one they’re aware that they’re being filmed while in the other they’re not. The difference between them is… disturbing.
While they’re aware of being filmed they fight back at every opportunity, hurl insults at their captors and ignore every command they receive to kneel or scream for their friends to save them, uncaring of the consequences.
In the second, where they believe no one is watching their team barely recognizes them. They scramble to obey every order from the whumper, promising tearfully that they’ll be good and taking the punishments for disobeying silently and repeating afterwards why they deserved it like they were told to, utterly broken by their time with the whumper and refusing to show it in front of their friends.

Whump Prompt #41
The weakest/youngest, non-human team member being forced into quarantine, drugged to keep them “docile.” The can’t get access because the non-human is “dangerous”. They are left to watch as their team member deliriously cries and calls for them, confused, afraid and alone.

I love a caretaker who has to pretend to be a whumper, just long enough to get the whumpee safe and away. maybe they'll tell the whumpee, "go along with it, I'm getting you out" and rely on the whumpee's acting skills to sell the pain they're not really causing. or maybe the whumpee is so out of their mind with pain or fear that they just do the least amount of permanent damage they can and hope that whumpee will forgive them once they've rescued them.

The trope where a character is restrained and the antagonist is approaching them and they start to panic. The fear in their eyes, their quick breaths, the way they squirm and writhe, struggling against the binds holding them tight. The little sounds of distress, or the louder words they cry at their captor. Could be pleas to stop, that they "don't have to do this", increasing in volume and desperation as their tormentor draws ever closer

a whumpee found unconscious. their body is limp, scars or injuries visible, their breaths shallow and uneven like even in unconsciousness, they’re in pain. how long have they lain there, vulnerable and in such bad shape? when they’re found, who will scoop them up gently and hold them close?

My favorite trope is characters who don’t know what it’s like to be treated nicely, and how they react when they meet kind/decent/non-asshole people.
-the look of surprise when someone brings them a cup of tea, unasked for, just saying they thought they would enjoy it.
-breaking a glass on accident and panicking, expecting terrible, terrible things, but a caretaker just bumbles over with a broom, pulling on a pair of slippers and telling them not to move, not to step on anything.
-being given an unexpected hug, and stiffening, then melting into it.
-relaxing slowly, until one day they’re surprised at how comfortable they are with these new people.
-latching onto the roughest, meanest of the bunch, because that’s who they were familiar with, and the gruff, tough, scary person ending up softening up to them.
-always waiting for the other shoe to drop, even though it doesn’t.
-when someone says good morning to them first, and it startled them because they’re used to being ignored at best.

Trade
“That’s getting a bit annoying don’t you think?” the whumper asked turning to their captive who was handcuffed securely to the table they were perched on, their tone was bored but still raised so they could be heard over the mindless screaming coming from the whumpee’s friend who was curled up on the floor in the next room over, visible through the spotless glass set into the wall.
The whumpee didn’t reply. They kept their eyes downcast to avoid the sight of their usually collected friend failing completely to hold themselves together around the drug induced pain coursing through their body but they could still hear their seemingly endless screams no matter what they did. They almost hoped their voice would give out soon just so that it would stop.
“You know, all I’m asking for is a simple trade. The information I want for their own well-being.” the whumper offered.
“Never.” they replied fighting back tears as they stared down at the table, determined not to talk no matter what it meant and hope their friend would understand later.
“And all this time I thought you cared about them,” they grinned, unfazed by their answer as they turned to the guard standing in the doorway. “Up the dosage next time you inject them, I want to see exactly how long they can scream for.”

Whumper breaking both of angel whumpee's wings as punishment. Fallen angel whumpee anxiously waiting, fearful they might heal wrong and misshapen just like flesh on their body that now was covered in scar tissue. That they might never be able to fly again.
•The whumpee had been defiant during their captivity, often fighting back and even hurting the whumper on multiple occasions, so of course the whumper goes for something valued by the whumpee in order to get them to listen- and that just happened to be their wings.
•Wings are very delicate, usually they wouldn’t break as often as they did in the lower realm because they would have access to things that could strengthen them- but under captivity the wings grow frail and they’re easy to break.
•The whumpee loved flying, it was one of their only escapes because the whumper had chosen to keep their wings, mainly as something that could be shown off.The whumper doesn’t care about wether or not the wings heal correctly since broken wings are still wings.

Tropes that I love:
The worried caretaker who says, "You're shaking," before wrapping the whumpee with a blanket and holding them close.

Prompt XVI
“Fine,” Whumpee whispered. “I’ll tell you…what you want to k–” his voice trailed off, getting softer and softer.
“Sorry dear, i couldn’t quite catch that,” Whumper grinned.
But when he leaned over, Whumpee slammed his head into Whumper’s, hard.
“I said you’re a dumb piece of shit,” he spat as Whumper tried to stem the blood running from his nose, eyes turned furious to Whumpee.

i can’t think of many examples right now but when characters in media die and their last words are like “i’m so tired” or “i just wanna get some rest..” shit like that it’s BRUTAL they’re always in another characters arms when it happens too like fuck OFF

Whumpee trying to reassure caretaker that caretaker can do whatever they want, whumpee won't resist. "I understand though if you would rather have be bound". Oh and whumpee, it is good if whumpee is very powerful on their own.
Ack I don’t know if this is exactly what you wanted but I had fun-
•The whumpee had been kept by a facility before, they’d convinced the whumpee that they were unstable and needed constant supervision to keep everyone around them safe- the whumpee just found it normal to be bound by chains or something similar.
•The whumpee had hurt people before on accident, mainly when they were young and not used to their own strength, as much as they would prefer to stay unbound they know it’s for the greater good.
•The caretaker hadn’t been hurt by the whumpee before- yes there had been accidents but the whumpee had convinced themselves that they were dangerous, no matter what the caretaker says the whumpee will not listen.

some torture tropes I just live for
- a tortured whumpee spitting on their torturer and then getting tortured some more
- a tortured whumpee getting the option to not be tortured again if they just tell their torturer something but instead they just spit in their torturer’s face and get tortured some more (ʘ‿ʘ✿)
- a tortured whumpee getting left alone in the room, so they struggle against the ropes in the hopes of getting free so hard that their wrists bleed
- just, bruised wrists, gimme more bruised wrists
- the torturer playing with the whumpee before actually hurting them; the torturer tracing the knife across their skin and watching as the whumpee grows more and more scared by the second
- the whumpee getting shown pictures and videos of their loved ones to remind them why exactly they should cooperate
- the torturer using drugs as torture, making the whumpee hallucinate their loved ones and watching them die and not having a clue that it’s just a hallucination
- OR they know it’s a hallucination but still shaking and crying because it just feels so real and they can’t shake the image of their loved one dying in front of them
- OR the torturer uses drugs that cause the whumpee unimaginable pain, like someone set their insides on fire and they can’t do anything to make it stop
- tying the whumpee up so that they’re hanging from the roof with their feet in the air and using them as a punching bag :’) simple but beautiful
- locking the whumpee up in a dark room for days with no water and no food and no means to figure out where they are or how long they’ve been there or what the bad guys want from them

anyway uhhh some TATs I guess. When a hero's been beaten so badly they ought to be incapacitated, it looks like they are, seems like the villain(s) and goons are assuming they are, so they're below attention for now... But they start moving in the tiniest increments, crawling along, reaching for their weapon/MacGuffin/what have you... And the villain doesn't even look at them to stamp on their hand or wrist to stop them. It was just letting them get so far before stopping it.
Plot twist! I love it!

"Please, it- it hurts..."
They never said it for the whumper. They never broke like this in the face of blood and degradation and horror. But in the face of the caretaker’s gentle concern and hesitation, the whumpee hears the words slip from their mouth with terrifying ease – and worse, need.
“Please, please– no more, I can’t–”
They never asked for mercy, never thought they needed it, until the possibility of it being granted broke them open.
