Mark Des Cotes has over 475 episodes between his 5 podcasts; his main podcast is called Resourceful Designer where he shares tips and lessons learned when running a designer business. He says that it's important to address your audience as 'YOU' and not 'YOU GUYS'. As a podcaster, you're almost always speaking to a single listener. To build a personal relationship with that listener, you need to speak directly to them. Mark shared a ton of valuable tips like this along with vulnerable stories in this weeks episode.

Wow, have I already done 20 interviews!? Time for an update! In this episode, I talk about the tremendous growth I've experienced from my podcast, the doors that have been opening, and learnings thus far. I was told by several people that my update episode after 10 episodes was extremely helpful, as it expressed what you could expect from starting your own podcast or platform. I believe this episode has done just that as well. Take a listen and shoot me a PM or email to let me know what you think! Stay tuned... because my next update episode (Once I hit 30 interviews) is going to be live streamed!

I am spending the next month in India & Botswana. My internet will be intermittent at best, so please be patient with PM's or comments. I will be replying to everything again the beginning of December! In case you're wondering... I'm spending 2 weeks in India split between Mumbai and the Himalayas followed by a 2 week adventure through Botswana (It's in Southern Africa if you didn't know). Even though I'll be gone, the podcast won't be. So make sure to tune in each week as I have some amazing interviews to share with you. :) https://whyinfluence.com/podcast/

Keith Martin recently quit his job by reviewing headphones on YouTube! https://whyinfluence.com/podcast/ Keith Martin reviews headphones on his YouTube channel, Gamesky, where as of posting this, he’s accumulated over 55,000 subscribers and over 18,000,000 views! Over the past 5 years, Keith’s been creating YouTube videos on a consistent basis. And, as of recently, he quit his full time job to pursue YouTube full time! He makes most his income from affiliate links and ad revenue. Keith’s first video didn’t even show a close-up of the product he was reviewing. He didn’t think about doing this until he read a comment calling him out. He shares several examples about the importance of self improvement through feedback. Keith said the biggest thing about influencing is to have patience; it takes time to build an audience. If you get success overnight, then it can end overnight. Consistency is key. If you’re consistent, at some point, your numbers will jump; it comes out of nowhere. (It’s not the first time we heard this!) Keith says when you create videos, you should talk to the camera as if it’s a friend sitting next to you. That way, you’re talking directly to the individual who’s watching, making the content feel much more personal. Keith suggests that you don’t track numbers too closely or compare your numbers to other influencers. If you don’t hit the numbers you set for yourself, you’ll get hit by some motivational barriers. Stay in your lane and keep going. These are just a few valuable pieces of info Keith shared with us. In this episode, Keith really deep dives into his story of how and why he started his influence. Keith’s story is inspirational and this episode is definitely worth a listen! https://whyinfluence.com/podcast/ Join our Discord community and become part of the conversation! https://discord.gg/jPdWKtR
