Shattered Into Pieces

[These last few days have been awful, but I was trying to keep myself together for the most part. I was visiting my daddy when I got the news that @ofpetalsnash was gone. My mind raced as I dropped my phone and watched it shatter on the floor at my feet.

“Baby girl what is it?”

I didn’t want to answer my dad’s question, but I knew that I had no choice but to do it.]

It’s Lexi, Daddy, she’s gone. The house blew up and she was inside.

[I never thought about the consequences of my words. I saw the tears in my father’s eyes as his words came out in a broken cry.

“My sugar bean is gone?”

I nodded slowly not knowing that my day was about to get so much worse. I watched my father stand from his chair and turn away from me. He made a strange noise, and I watched frozen in horror as my father dropped to the ground.]

DADDY!

[I ran across the room, and I knew just by looking at my father that he was gone. I called the paramedics anyway and my mother also.

“It appears to be a heart attack, I’m sorry for your loss.”

If my mom hadn’t been in the house, I’m not sure that @ofawickedghost or @rebelofareaper would have been called. I was frozen where I stood. My dad and my best friend were both dead.

My mom moved me to another room when they moved Daddy out of the house. She figured that I was in shock, and I probably was doing just that. My mind was racing and going everywhere at once.

This wasn’t happening, I couldn’t do anything, but cry and pray that I would wake up from this horrible nightmare sooner rather than later.]
