Virgil Antes local vigilante and boba tea shop worker with no underlying issues!

(Updated my ref for my Ninjago Oc a while back, some fun facts and lore under the cut)

- Virgil’s gender-fluid and uses any pro-nouns !! They find a special kind of joy in confusing the fuck out of people

- His vigilante persona is named “Red Robinhood”

- Her mom owns a boba shop named Bubble Trouble in downtown Ninjago City. She built the business herself from the ground up and she and Virgil share annoyance at the constant property damage caused by attacks on Ninjago

- Their step-dad is an ex Constrictai general named Jörmungandr. He goes by Jorge. He was a deserter in the Serpentine wars. He’s into cross stitch

- Virgil is currently engaged in a love square situation with one of their shop regulars. Their name is Siri and they also have a vigilante/villain persona that Virgil fucking despises while also having a desperate crush on Siri in their civilian lives. Meanwhile Siri has a crush on Red Robinhood and loves messing with them while in vigilante mode (Siri is an oc that belongs to my friend @penguincove )

- They have a sibling like relationship with Misty !!( @evelyn-is-eccedentesiasts’s oc) The two of them annoy each other endlessly but they really care about each other

Are they, y’know? Friendly rivals turned bitter enemies after a betrayal of trust that resulted in the death of their mentor?

I was talking about this with a friend but it makes me so fired up that I honestly need to rant about it here too-

As I've talked about before, Zane and Kai make an excellent team because Kai takes action when it's needed even if he doesn't totally think it through and Zane doesn't take action until he's considered all the information he has into a reasonable response.

The reason his bye felica moment in season 8 was so scary was because he looked at that situation, thought it through, realized he barely had any information to go off of, and did it anyway. Do you understand how out of character that is for him?? Do you even know how well that ties in to how hard Mr. E fucked him up? Like- Zane thought, became fully aware how stupid and risky the actions he was about to take were going to be, AND DID IT ANYWAY What's worse is that, while this is fairly normal behavior for him when it's only himself that's in immediate danger thanks to his actions, HE DRAGGED COLE INTO IT FULLY INTENDING TO HELP THE BAD GUYS KIDNAP HIM

Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing? Because I'm seeing that the reason Zane started appearing so fucking desperate and panicked by the time he and Mr. E started fighting was because he played incredibly riskily to get more information, put one of his family members in immediate risk and hoped the others would understand the plan only to get so far and gain absolutely nothing from risking his life and Cole's.

Looking at the slowly growing Aspheera/Misako (scrollshipping) on my dashboard and I can't help but think of the parallels between it and survivalshipping. Garmadon gets a boyfriend (Vinny) to make him less evil. Misako gets a girlfriend (Aspheera) to make her, not evil, but a lot more chaotic. misako uses all her explorer's club knowledge to bust aspheera out of prison multiple times. once she walks right by vinny while he's paying garmadon's bail.

Misako is an archaeologist, and I think a particularly funny interpretation of her is if her initial interest in Garmadon and Wu, whether or not this later changed, was not in a romantic relationship, but rather in gleaning as much historical knowledge they'd gained over their multi-thousand-year lives as humanly possible. A gold digger for the most valuable currency of all: Knowledge

Do you guys ever think about how Kai, in the earlier seasons, was quick to anger and didn’t trust anyone, but later on he became more playful and barely if ever picked on fights? And how this is a reflection of him having to raise Nya by himself, so he had to grow up quickly and build up walls, but now that he has a family and feels safe he doesn’t need those walls anymore because he knows his family is there?
