all I can say is 1. I love Sam, but 2. Sam wanted to leave, and that became apparent to The Wiggles mid-2011. His contract was coming to an end and he was ready to venture into other projects outside of The Wiggles. So, when his contract ended in 2012, they asked Greg to come back until August of that year, after which they would transition into a new yellow Wiggle, which was supposed to be Simon. The Wiggles’ press release announcing Greg’s return was originally agreed to include all of this information, but the man tasked with officially releasing it (Mike Conway) changed the contents to say that Greg asked to come back and Sam “graciously stepped aside” to allow Greg to return, and never included that Greg would only be back temporarily. As a result, Mike Conway was let go from the company. In May, Murray and Jeff decided they were ready to retire (they were increasing in age, Jeff was 60 at the time, and Murray’s children were finishing up high school and he wanted to be around for it). Therefore, they asked Greg to simply stick around until December so they could all do one final tour as the original four Wiggles.

I hope this clears everything up :)

It's strange how hung up you are about Sam being so horrible. All I'm getting from my own research was that he was never truly accepted as a Wiggle and fired as soon as Greg wanted to return. Being called a salaried Wiggle and having no one speak to him after being fired says a lot about the people he worked with doesn't it?
