um. so this is imp (short for 'impostor') and [REDACTED] (he has a name but its not revealed yet because he. hasnt talked to anyone but imp in the fic yet unless you count when editor saw him which i absolutely dont. anyways) and theyre the burs from among us ! yes burs plural . bc imp is the Impostor and [REDACTED] is the Crewmate and i made among us worldbuilding bc i love science fiction a normal amount. so basically "impostors" (thats what humans call them), aka what imp is, are a 'hostile' alien species who 'possess' and kill other intelligent species, mostly on cargo ships ! the reason for this is. not yet revealed in fwiatc technically but one can kind of draw conclusions. but the main driving factor is what you see in the background of this art- a star getting sucked into a black hole. yes thats a black hole In my defense no one really knows what they look like ! anyways the 'impostors' are shape-shifting alien parasitoids who infect and take over a host in order to Do Their Job. and originally imp was supposed to be like a straight-up antagonist whos like rly bad and a murderer etcetc and he Is a murderer he kills [REDACTED] (different guy. spoilers lmao) but i made myself emotional over him and now hes just a silly little guy with a million identity crises because i said so!

uhh TLDR i made among us backstory, got attached to the murderer i made, and now imp and [REDACTED] are two of my favorite burs. i love them and i need to run them over with an 18-wheeler

so. i was brainstorming with a friend on rusts story. and we ended up um. making him fight in world war two (stay w me here it makes sense) but he crashed his plane in the pacific and ended up on an island. and while we were talking abt it i made a joke like 'haha walter crondale is like a 1930s radio host imagine if rust recognized him lmaooo' and i made it canon. and then while explaining it to someone else i accidentally phrased smth that made it sound like they knew each other personally, in fact i phrased it in a way that made them sound like they were! married! and i kept up the joke for so long that it gradually became unironic and they ended up. married. in gay love. in 1944. so. i'll go more into walters side of the story on his day but in the meantime, more explanation for rust: so. take sbi. but put them in the 1940s in america. and make phil be in the military. and make wilbur and walter fucking crondale (full name walter herbert oglevee morrison soot-crondale) have a childhood friends to lovers arc. and then wilbur gets drafted into the military and tommy joins him (he lies abt his age ofc) and then as i said the three of them happen to b in the same place at the same time and all three crash land in the pacific and phil Fucking Dies and wilbur and tommy just have to work w it. dw they're fine eventually (i mean not phil but. its fine) but for now theyre Not! lmao! also he has radiation poisoning and burns its a whole thing but dw abt that either its fine

so. explanation, although this art functions fine by itself w/o context- sky is Just Some Guy who happens to live in a world where the sky gods like to fuck around and put random people on islands on the sky. for funsies. and sky just so happened to be the unlucky fella they chose this time! and when he got up there, oopsie poopsies, the sky gods "accidentally" struck him with magic lightning like a million times. and now he doesnt remember anything. and now hes stuck time travelling with a group of other versions of him while trying to remember his past life and sort it all out while Also trying not to get overwhelmed by every "new" texture or sound or sight. and occasionally getting seemingly random memories or people he vaguely recognizes but dont remember knowing.

the specific story behind this art is in. uhhhh chapter 67. where sky gets a sillay little memory of him and tommy stargazing ! and it starts fucking pouring. so they leave. cut to a memory of sky on the island again, looking at the stars, insert reference to the previous scene, then he gets struck by lightning, end memory. cue Feelings. u get the gist. u can go read it for urself if u want
