@wilczmin​ sent: geralt’s sitting in a chair at the other side of the room when jaskier comes in, fur draped across his shoulders. it will soon be around jaskier’s. “bought you a coat. getting cold out.”

With the distance quickly closed between them, Jaskier couldn’t hope to hold back the gentle smile that crossed his features. That would quickly dissolve into mild surprise, however, as the fur was placed around his broad shoulders. 

He had to agree, it was getting colder out. The early fall chill had gone past being bearable on its own, and was slowly making the transition into late fall and early winter. It would be more of a hassle soon, and only fuel Jaskier’s anxieties. He still couldn’t help but feel a bit silly for that.  Even then, Geralt’s consideration made him feel loved. Cared about. It brought a warmth to his chest he’d always had trouble putting into proper words.

“Oh– well, you didn’t need to do that… but, I appreciate it nevertheless, my love. Thank you for thinking of me,”

 geralt  ,    scrambling  up  from  his  spot  on  the  floor  and  slipping  and  staggering          sprinting  ,     he’s  sprinting            right  over  to  iorweth  with  a  full    .5  seconds  to  spare  .      the  last  half  second  is  used  to  grip  iorweth’s  face  and  tilt  his  face  up  so  that  he  can  plant  a  very  nice  kiss  .      right  there  .        ❛  made  it  .  ❜

I thought I was experiencing an emotion but it was just coffee withdrawal.

Jaskier didn’t want to be here anymore. It wasn’t their fight, it wasn’t even their treasure to claim. What was the point? Even if he could scrounge up a song from all of this shit, he doubted he’d want to sing it. Please, he would silently beg. He just wanted to leave. Be with no one but Geralt and Roach, and try to forget the people they lost.

He felt a fresh wave of tears threatening to leave him, being asked to stay back but to still stay. Great. That’s just about the exact opposite of what he wanted. He just wanted to get off of this damned mountain, and stay close to Geralt for as long as he could get away with. Jaskier couldn’t hold the emotion back, not after such a hard day. And yet, the words refused to leave him.

A lump just stuck itself in his throat refusing to let him open his mouth unless he wanted to let out a pathetic sob. Instead, Jaskier would just shake his head and grip onto Geralt a little tighter. 

Please don’t make me do this. Please don’t leave me alone, even for a second. 

 it  wasn’t  in  any  of  geralt’s  plans  to  leave  jaskier  alone  ,    let  alone  to  do  anything  the  bard  didn’t  want  to  do  .      if  he  had  his  way  ,    and  weren’t  so  intent  on  keeping  his  path  to  the  dragon    (    admittedly  ,    their  companions  ,    and  yennefer  ,    drove  his  resolve  more  than  he  wished  they  would    )  ,    he  would  have  taken  right  off  with  jaskier  and  not  looked  back  .      what  good  was  it  for  either  of  them  to  have  to  wallow  in  the  what  they  already  lost  ?

 silently  ,    the  witcher  twisted  slightly  so  that  he  could  wrap  both  his  arms  around  jaskier  .      gentle  ,    none  too  tightly  .      he  could  feel  the  bard  shaking  ,    the  tension  in  his  body  while  he  held  back  tears  .      geralt  wondered  ,    too  ,    what  possible  good  jaskier  could  be  getting  out  of  this  .      clearly  he  was  suffering  ,    battling  with  emotions  .      there  was  a  reason  why  witchers  couldn’t  cry  .

 ❛  it  won’t  be  much  longer  .   ❜        but  even  he  was  beginning  to  doubt  this  .      having  the  bard  around  ,    in  addition  to  being  risky  ,    only  hurt  him  .        ❛  only  a  bit  longer  .      then  …   ❜        then  you  won’t  have  to  worry  about  this  any  longer  .        ❛  then  we  can  leave  .      then  we  leave  .   ❜
