Now that I think about it, I can kinda see it! I personally think that cyan snail seems more calm around Grian than Gary does, but I feel like at the very least it's giving sibling vibes.

In Wild Life the snails were mindless, they had code and that code told them to kill their player counterparts.

After the game though, the snails gained sentience, and developed their own feelings about their counterparts.

They view Grian as a sort of creator, and they hate him because they blame him for their mindlessness.

They also view Oli as a creator, but they believe that after the lifers left, that Oli is who gave them their sentience, so they like him much more.
