All I have, all I need
Is the air I would kill to breathe...
Still I’m searching for something
Out of breathe, I am left
Hoping someday I’ll breathe again...

Books About Mental Illness
Since I just recently finished and loved The Girls at 17 Swann Street, I thought I would make a post of fiction dealing with mental illness. I found these all to be accurate and relatable depictions of mental illness (though of course your mileage may vary depending on your experiences). Heavy trigger warning on all of these. They deal with subjects including but not limited to: eating disorders, self-harm, drug use, abuse, death, and suicide.

Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall

“Why couldn’t she see that something extraordinary had already begun? That once my metamorphosis was complete I would emerge as someone other than me? It wasn’t enough, clearly. I had to do more than fast. I would start to run tomorrow. Tonight maybe. Tonight.”
