Willa was born to a farmer and stay-at-home mother in Medford, NJ. What used to be dirt roads and a barely-known location to pick anything from apples and pumpkins, to peaches and strawberries - became commercial by the time Willa was in middle school. The small farm tripled in size and Willa cannot recall a time where it wasn’t busy. Willa’s mother was her best friend growing up, and was the one who gifted Willa her first ever guitar at 13 years old. The young blonde took lessons from their neighbor, but ultimately was self-taught. When her parents were discussing her taking over the farm, she was strumming around her room pretending to be a star like Carrie Underwood. Word broke out in school when Willa performed an original song at the talent show that she was aiming to become a singer and songwriter. The bullying was through the roof, though she would retreat to her mother after the drama ensued for the day. One thing Willa’s mother knew better than anyone else was her own daughter, and she could see how badly she wanted this for her life. Willa’s mother wound up moving to Nashville, TN, with Willa in order to give her dreams a chance. It was through this transition period that her parents split up, though it never interrupted Willa’s thoughts and hopes about love. In fact, she wrote a whole album about it at 16 that really put her on the map. Suddenly, all the kids who were cruel to her back at home were silenced in her mind. It didn’t stop there. Willa wound up moving to NYC, putting out album after album for years. Currently, she just went on her most massive tour yet. No one knows, but she has been writing romance novels under a pseudonym and actually plans on retiring from music to focus on a quieter life after the next few albums are released.
