REALLLL I'm sorry idk how to explain how much easier it is for me to get emotionally invested in horror media, I tend to find them a lot more emotional than if I were to watch sad films idk how to explain it. Like its so.. raw? And the creativity put into horror stories too, I adore practical effects and such and they're commonly used in horror so like!! Please they're just so investing
I’m sick of being looked down on by non horror fans. Like I get it if it’s just not your genre but I’ve stopped telling people my favourite show is Hannibal because when I do, at least 1/3 times I get the dreaded “okay…” and a look like I said I enjoy ketchup on my ice cream.
Like, just because it’s not your thing doesn’t mean you get to act like I’m weird for liking A VERY COMMON GENRE OF MEDIA.

reposting hoping more ppl see this bc I like it GUAGGHHHH
"Hannibal wanted to eat Will's brain to forgive him", "Hannibal wanted to eat Will's brain for power", "It was out of love"
Okay, but.. can we talk about the implications of doing such a thing? And I'm not referring to the finality of the decision; the death it would cause—I mean the risks for Hannibal. I don't mean the effects that the loss of Will may have on him, but the physical risks of consuming the human brain. While no, it's not guaranteed that anything would happen, it does make me wonder.. would Hannibal have been okay with it if anything had happened to him? If he were to become ill because of Will's brain, would he accept that? There's at least some acceptance in the risk given Hannibal was a surgeon and is likely aware of such a thing, some willingness to go through with it without care in the aftermath—Will's brain overriding any possible concern.. But what if that was the endgoal in the first place—to go with him, from the same thing. To kill Will, and then follow after. Kind of like some twisted final declaration of love, endless devotion. I feel similarly to the final episode when Will throws them both over the edge.
"Can't live with him, can't live without him"

no thoughts behind my eyes just moments in s1 where Will let's himself get close to Hannibal on his own but immediately backs off the moment Hannibal looks at him
kinda random rambling
I like that he didn't immediately back off after Hannibal offered another theory, instead backing off after looking at him. It's like he saw understanding in that moment and got confirmation of it by looking at him, like they saw eachother for a moment; you kinda think like me.
There's this want to find yourself in another person, wanting understanding/someone to relate to—but it's also scary seeing that part of yourself in another person when it already scares you just seeing it in yourself. For the same reason you don't want people getting too close to you, you now don't wanna get too close to them.
They say that eyes are gateways into the soul, that looking into the eyes of another will let you see what they're really thinking. By actually making that eye contact, it's like you're offering them inside your head. Throughout the show "getting too close" referred to losing himself in someone else's head, being stuck seeing through their eyes—if looking into another person's eyes meant getting in their head and them getting in yours and you both shared similar thoughts, would you ever be able to know for certain that you got out?
I'm so bad at explaining my thoughts it makes more sense in my head so I hope it's at least. Slightly understandable
Also this scene in fromage where Will attempts to check Hannibal's injuries but immediately looks away upon Hannibal looking back at him. I like that he doesn't look directly at him whilst expressing his guilt, saying he feels as if he's dragged Hannibal into his world, almost like he doesn't want him to see any more—he's already been far enough in. He doesn't want him to get too close.
I'm probably looking too into it but . we love overanalyzing
Will "I hate eye contact" graham staring into Hannibals soul
