i wish people wouldnt put so much value and emphasis and importance on the act of crying, and ive felt this way since i was a kid. if you dont cry about stuff people expect you to cry about, they act like youre a terrible person or something is wrong with you! i had to lie to my mom about crying while watching lassie just so she'd leave me the fuck alone about how it was weird that id never cried at a movie before. whether or not testosterone is the reason i cry even less now than i did before (which i think it is for reasons like "i cant cry even if i genuinely feel like crying", although i dont think its a universal side effect at all) is really immaterial to the fact that "cries about stuff" is not the "correct" way of being, lol. just because im not crying doesnt mean im not in touch with my feelings. its really obnoxious! "its only social pressure that keeps men from crying" seems just as ridiculous a concept as saying theres any other 100% across the board reason why men dont cry. i think its probably a combination of factors! but yknow, if you dont cry, thats fine, lmao. youre not a heartless robot monster sociopath because water doesnt come out of your eyes when youre upset the way it does for other people lmao. i wish we could just accept that there is no wholly universal human behavior that everyone could express to the same degree if not for that accursed social pressure lmao. sometimes people really are just different. and maybe i like being free from the expectation to cry! because it's an expectation that has negatively affected my life and causes all kinds of neuroses about my humanity and moral character, lol
