In all seriousness, I love the smell of a freshly lit smoker in the morning (cue the helicopter sounds)... I use pine cones, burlap, and pine needles. The Master Beekeeper class in Williamson County last week was awesome! Special thanks to Dr Tsuruda and Mike Studer for teaching. If you ever get the chance to attend a class jump in! Don’t ever pass up the opportunity to learn more. Whenever you think you’ve figured out this whole “beekeeping thing” or life for that matter you usually get a swift kick in the butt reminding you there’s so much more to know. Working 2 jobs and being a father of 3 is filled with long days but (usually) lots of smiles. It doesn't always go as planned but we roll with it.⠀ ⠀ I didn't plan on having 3 boys and playing with a bunch of bugs in Tennessee. I figured I would spend my life surfing on the coast of California or hiking the John Muir trail. But guess what? Beehive update! 😄😎🐝#Repost @oaksteaknash with @get_repost ・・・ The Oak Steakhouse beehives have sprung into action at @williamshoneytn and are super busy these days bringing in fresh nectar. The nectar looks light and has an extremely floral aroma, most likely due to the recent locust bloom middle Tennessee is experiencing. Both queens seem to be laying more eggs than ever and as a result, extra boxes have been added to the hives almost every 5 days.
