THEIR MAJESTIES KING TARZAN AND QUEEN JANE OF THE JUNGLE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT THEIR CHILD, HER ROYAL HIGHNESS THE PRINCESS WILLOW PORTER-GREYSTOKE, FOR THE UPCOMING SOCIAL SEASON. WE HEAR THEY’RE CURIOUS AND WARM, BUT CAN ALSO BE IMPULSIVE AND BRASH. AND IT’S SAID THEY BARE A REMARKABLE RESEMBLANCE TO MADISON BAILEY, BUT THAT’S MERELY A COINCIDENCE. WE’RE SURE THEY’LL CAUSE QUITE A STIR IN THE TON THIS YEAR, BUT ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

She does accept Will as a nickname.

This is Will’s first season and she’s unsure if she’ll have a second. She hadn’t been intending on showing up, but when she heard about the shadowborn arriving, she grew curious. She has been in Auradon for only slightly less time than they have.

Unlike many others, Willow’s parents weren’t pressuring her to enter the social scene. In fact, they would have been perfectly content to keep her with them in the jungle for the rest of their lives. Willow has a very good relationship with both of her parents (and her extended jungle family), but she’s always been one to seek out adventure. And what is more adventurous than trying something new?

Though her family would get the occasional visit from others, they never left the jungle. Willow has never been around this many people, and it’s kind of overwhelming (yes, she does have social anxiety).

She has always considered her survival skills to be top notch, but now that she’s stuffed into super uncomfortable outfits day in and day out, subjecting herself to the judgmental eyes of the people who are now her peers... she’s reconsidering. She’s never had to try and make friends with humans before. It’s hard. It’s even harder in uncomfortable clothes.

This was before being an environmentalist was really a thing, but... she definitely is one. 99 out of 100 times you can find her out in nature. She says she needs the fresh air to be able to think properly. But don’t think she doesn’t see you cutting down trees to build more summer homes. Why are the parks so small? Why do people feel the need to litter when there are perfectly good receptacles nearby? Willow is one of those people who will see people litter, pick it up, and toss it right back at them.

People might underestimate Willow given that she has had maybe about three hours of etiquette training in her whole life (why do people need so many forks??), but she’s quite intelligent. She’s read all of her mother’s books multiple times, and her grandfather (whom she is staying with at present) had sent her several more over the years. She may not know how to waltz, but she can use words like ubiquitously flawlessly.

Though she’s quite bright, Willow didn’t realize that the entire reason why people get together in the ‘ton is to pursue marriage. She’s... not super interested in that. She doesn’t think that she’ll fall madly in love with anyone over the course of one season... or even the next five years, really. She’s heard the word spinster, and she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

Lowkey though there are also maybe some trust issues at play. She’s very protective over her family in the jungle and doesn’t want to be let down by developing feelings for someone who can’t appreciate where she comes from.

Willow truly doesn’t understand the purpose behind several of the choices of Auradonian society, and there is no ill intent when she voices this. She’s gone her whole life being able to wear pants, go places alone, not playing coy, etc. Why should she start now?
