Bette quickly scribbles down the name examining the paper before flashing Will a grateful smile. “… That I can do. Though I’m sure any space is above what I’m living in now. Though reasonable is definitely in my budget”, a sip from her tea is taken, sighing softly. “…You’re also looking for a new place then, or just bearing with it for the time being?”

“They are pretty good. Not huge. But the windows tend to be bigger and all that. Which I always liked. Look for one where they’ve at least reno’ed the bathroom. An old kitchen is workable. An old bathroom is vile.” Will commented, “You’ll find something good. I’m sure of it.” Although he kinda wanted to ask why she wasn’t moving into the Somerset estate. He kept those thoughts to himself since gossip in this town was a vicious thing and he didn’t know how much truth there was to the alleged relationship between Bette and the Lady. “Oh well, we’re just taking our time with it. No hasty decisions and all that.”

“You’re too sweet, Will,” she laughed.  “But I’m still working off the courage from the last tattoo I got!  It healed up really nicely, but I can still hear the buzzing of the needle in my dreams,” she added with a shake of her head.  “Oh, that would make senes.  He is pretty important so he probably has all sorts of things to keep that privacy, I guess,” she replied, knitting her brow in thought.  It really wasn’t something she’d ever consider.  “Great, I will have it done.  I’ll send you an email, I know super professional bleh, just to confirm some of the details and just for reference.  I’d hate to forget any details and accidentally mess up such a lovely surprise!”

“That little thing?” Will teased, glancing down at the small daisy chain around her wrist and then to his own well-covered arm. Then he grinned, “Fantastic. So my plans are in motion. What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? Tell me someone has sensibly started paying attention to you.”

Text: You really should go and it’s only three hours by train.  I think it will be stunning in a few months when it’s warmer and you can just wander around.

Text: And he has regretted every single second since. You can actually see it whenever he looks at me. Good times. It would be less irritating if he and Ginny didn’t have this amazing connection that goes back to her infancy.

“I know you would but you shouldn’t have to. And if my uncle loves me….he’ll understand.” She tried to explain, voice a bit soft, desperate, as she turned the laptop towards him. She watched him, gauging his reaction, and when she saw a little smile tugging on his lips she let out her own little sigh of relief. “Really. For weeks now.” She leaned up into the kiss, lingering for a second before pulling back with an even wider smile, “Yeah?” She asked, moving to his hand to tug him closer and to the laptop. “A lot of these are really great. And I mean it when I say I want Posey there too. I used to love the idea of the three of us together…..I used to imagine just moving in with you two at your old place. But we can get a new one. An even better one. A place we can really make into our home and..where we’re all together. And safe.”

Will felt immensely skeptical of Ginny’s faith but who knew, maybe she was right, maybe he had put in enough time to at least show that he wasn’t going anywhere, that he had the backbone that Ginny needed, even if it was simply the backbone to endure living in the Tower. He kissed her forehead and nodded, “Posey is pretty ballsy and she can live where she wants but yeah, it makes me happy that if she wants a home with us, she’ll always be welcome. Always. Thank you my princess. For being the home of my dreams.... now let’s find the one of our dreams, okay?”

“I think so. It’s elegant and that slit in the skirt is going to provide nice easy access…if you decide to take advantage of that,” she said teasingly. “Plus the black and gold are traditional New Years colors. And it’s one that isn’t going to break the bank either.”

“Well it is worth splashing out for Ginny but at the same time, food next month is a good idea.” Will replied with a laugh. “Okay. I’ll take that one in her size and let you pick out the underwear that will go with everything.” He grinned broadly at his cousin, “Thanks Mel. You’re the best.”

Daisy nodded as she listened attentively.  Honestly, she just wanted to do the best she could to help Will.  “Whatever works for you, Will, seriously.  I can meet with you wherever you’d like.  I can pick up the cake, I think.  Your place has, like, an elevator right?  I’ll probably have to bring a trolly for everything so that I don’t accidentally drop and ruin your surprise.”

“You are literally the best Daisies.... your next tat is on me.” Will replied with a nod, “Absolutely, the Tower had elevators. I get the impression that Lord Montague has a private one since I legit never see him on the one the rest of us use. Anyway, you definitely don’t want to carry all that up six floors. Trolly would be great.”

Text: Rome is stunning.  I swear I could spend hours in the Sistine Chapel, the ceiling is just incredible.  There is so much to see and I feel like I’ve only seen a fraction of what there is.

Text: I didn’t realise it was as long as that.  I’d never considered getting one before so hadn’t really thought about it.  At least if I get it done soon it will be all healed before the summer.

Text: Ugh I have jealousy. I should definitely take Ginny there some weekend. I am sure she would love it.

Text: Sensible because too much sun on healing skin is a terrible idea. So that’s definitely the right approach.

“Afraid so, my rent expires at the end of February, and as much as I’ve loved my little apartment. I couldn’t handle another 12 months. It’s just.. I think it’s time to move on you know?”

Will nodded in agreement. “Trust me if anyone understands, it is me. Try in the old town neighbourhood. Close to the centre but the buildings are older, which means the apartments are bigger and the rents are reasonable. That’s where Posey and I got our place when our parents left town.”

Daisy nodded with determination and typed onto her tablet, looking through her inventory.  “I have a fresh shipment of those coming in this weekend, so yes.  I can definitely secure plenty of peonies for you,” she chimed.  “Mmmmmm, sure okay… might be a bit tricky, but I think I can manage that,” she laughed as she imagined a handful of cats climbing all over her as she tried to set down the flowers at Will’s place.  Would it be best for me to grab a spare key from you ahead of time or will you have one hidden away somewhere for me?”

“Spare key would be best. I could try to leave one at the front lobby but they are dicks down there. I can go to your shop on my coffee break and drop it off if you like.” Will replied. “And ... if this isn’t pushing it too much, would you wait for the bakery to drop off the cake while you are there?” Will continued with a shrug.

Ginny let out a breath and just nodded. Will was allowed his opinions of the man who’d helped raise her, but regardless of all this, she wasn’t about to let him have a reputation that he did things without consent. As she spoke and practically blurted out feelings she’d been trying to keep at bay, she felt anxieties prickling at her. So when Will spoke, his words were both expected and surprised her. She knew he hated it there, but the fact that he wanted to look…

Without replying she put her glass down and went over to the kitchen table where she’d left her laptop this morning, biting her lip as she turned it on. “I….I agree with you. This was my home. For my whole life, but..not any more. Not when you..my Dom, my everything…isn’t welcome here. I know you hate it here….and I know you only put up with it all because of me but..I shouldn’t be asking this of you. It isn’t fair that we’re stuck here. And I….I don’t want to go more months like this. I don’t want it to get worse and for you to end up resenting me. So, I um…” she swallowed, turning back to the laptop and clicking on a folder she’d made, bringing up dozens of links. “I’ve maybe already been looking for weeks now. Into apartments..into houses. A real home. For you and me. And for Posey. Every single one of these listings has at least two bedrooms, so she can have a place too.”

When she stepped away, Will wanted to retract everything he just said. He hated upsetting Ginny but he really did think this was necessary. His mouth fell open in momentary surprise when she said she agreed with him. “Hey ... no... I’d stick it out for you. But ... I really want to move on ... time to be somewhere else, you know?” To his surprise she had already started looking. “Really?” His smile lit his features. He touched her cheek, tipping her head up into a soft kiss. “So we start looking. We can just look for now. When we find the right place.... we’ll talk to Lord Oz. Okay?”

“Hmm.” Mel looked over the two dresses he had attempted to describe before grabbing hold of one of the dresses on the rack she thought met his description. “This one?” 

“Oh ...” Will looked it over. “Yeah ... I thought it was pretty. Do you think she would like it?” he asked curiously, unsure of his ability to select something sufficiently fashionable. He did trust Mel’s good taste however.

Text: How long do they usually take to heal?

Text: I’d love to do that. How’s Rome? I hear the museums there are amazing!

Text: Depends on how quickly you heal really and how well you take care of it. About 2 weeks or so before long baths or swimming. Complete healing takes a few months.

“… So what is the average price of a two bedroom apartment in the middle of the city?” Bette asks curiously, looking up from the real estate section in the paper to sip at her coffee. “…  920 euro seems a little hefty, especially since it doesn’t include amenities or bills”

Will shrugged as he stirred another packet of sugar into his latte, “Hmmm... about right for a two bedroom in a good neighbourhood. Bit steep for a one bedroom or no amenities though. Could be nice.” Will continued with a shrug. “Looking for a new place?”
