Located in North of Yorkshire, Scarborough faces the North Sea and is backed by the British Isles. It is the largest resort in Yorkshire and one of the main resorts in the East of England.Scarborough is divided into two bays in the north and south. There is a huge sea otter between the two bays in the north and south. It is the Rock of Gibraltar in Yorkshire.

Relection on Critical thinking lesson

After learning this course, I knew better of how to think. Actually, I did not recognize that thinking has a lot of skills or types which can be improved. I understand everything has two aspects, bad or good, but I never link it to the critical think.

I learned some basic request and standard from this lesson that there are five skills for the critical thinking, reasoning, evaluating, analysing, decision making and problem solving. In my opinion, reasoning means that everything existed with a original reason or cause and when we evaluating it the reasons are also significant and should be considered. Everyone has their own mind and method to evaluate and analyze things and the degree of them can help decision making and problem solving. What’s more, the standard of critical thinking should be followed to do a better thinking. A critical thinking should have clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, logic and fairness.

However, it is very difficult to develop a critical thinking with these standards because people always ignore the importance of critical thinking in their daily life or forget some key points. As to me, I do less in critical thinking in my life even in some academic research. But when learned this lesson, I will focus on critical thinking and pay attention to develop it when think at ordinary times so that to form a good habits of critical thinking.

Examples of your success

 In my impression, one of my most successful examples was when I was in college. It was the first time that I left my parents to live alone in another city, so I planned to earn the cost of living on my own. Because my major in college was finance, I intend to make a profit by investing. At first, I chose the fund to invest, but the profit of the fund is very small. So I began to contact the stock investment method. Before investing in the stock, I read a lot of books about stock speculation and searched the Internet for ways of stock speculation. Finally, after my efforts and careful analysis, I made my first money. Then I increased my investment. In one of my most successful investments, I earned up to 20,000 yuan, which I think is an example of my success.

From this successful example, I can learn that everything can be successful, but first you have to be willing to pay the same amount of perseverance and efforts for your success. For example, Edison spent ten years developing batteries. During this period, he persisted in grinding his teeth. After about 50,000 experiments, he finally succeeded in inventing batteries and was given the title of "King of Invention".

 Reflection on Essay result

 Last semester's paper was on the differences in education systems between China and the UK and SMART, SWORT and Action Plan.

 As for the results of last semester's paper, I was not satisfied with my own performance, so the final score was similar to what I expected. I got 58 points. The reason is that Teacher Leila has been asking us to send her an email after essay is finished, but because of my laziness, I don't send it to her often, so I can't get more feedback to revise my paper.

 From the results of this paper, I can get the following results: in future papers, I should take it seriously, and according to the teacher's requirements to complete correctly. In order to get better scores in the future papers examination and improve the writing skills of papers, this will also be very helpful for my future master's thesis writing.

 In a word, from the results of last semester's papers, we can see that we still need to make great efforts to get high marks in English. Because I have a lot of grammatical errors and lack of vocabulary, my paper is very weak. So in the new semester, I not only finish the paper according to the requirements, but also improve my English ability greatly.

  About a brainstorming activity: There are 4 of you and 1boat. But only 3 people can use the boat. We should make some plan to solve this problem. I learn to understand the role of creativity and creative learning strategy.

 When I brainstorming for this activity. I realized the importance of teamwork. Everyone has a lots of different ideas or it. We made three plans: first, because I was the leader of our team, I had the responsibility to let the other three leave by boat; second, we did not choose to leave the island; third, we could get resources on the island to expand the boat so that it could accommodate all of us to leave. During the discussion, we communicated with each other and exchanged our minds and thoughts. After the discussion, I kept the advantage of my ideas and mixed my partners’ good thoughts. When listening to others idea always inspire some new ideas. And then, I will have new understanding of the same things and I knew that we need to exchange our points and thoughts when look at problems.

Nowadays, more and more people carry out work by brainstorming. Because team discussions use unconstrained rules, people are more free to think and enter new areas of thought, resulting in many new ideas and problem solving methods. When participants have new ideas, they speak out loud and then build new ideas on top of others' ideas. All opinions are recorded but not criticized. There are lots of advantages of brainstorming.It is extremely easy to operate and has strong practical value. Everyone's thinking can be maximized, and it can effectively broaden ideas and inspire. Meanwhile, it created a good platform provides an environment that inspires and broadens ideas.Because of the good communication atmosphere, it is conducive to increase team cohesion and enhance team spirit.

The key to listing is to refrain from self-censorship. Let your idea flow. In the future , we should keep clarity mind to thinking every things. And open my mind to change my way of thinking to look out problems.

My name is Xiong Xiao I am 20 years old and I came from China. My hobbies are playing basketball and computer games, I often play basketball with Kyle and Vincent. Now, I study in Oncampus University of Hull and my chosen profession is Investment and Finance. Before that, in China my profession was financial manager where I was working for three months after graduating from college.

I am warm and open-minded, friendly, honest as well as hard working, conscientious and responsible. I am able to bear hardships and endure hard work, due diligence and patience. I could say thanks to the four years of College that let me greatly improve the ability of organisation and coordination, management, resilience, so now I have a good psychological quality. This all will let me have greater advantages in competition, let me go further and higher in the cause of life. In the future, I intend to study hard to improve my English in Britain, this is why I decided to write this blog about my challenges and good times whist I am studying in Britain.
