ED tips - calories that don’t count
so, just a reminder to myself and to all of calories that don’t need to be counted:
ever:
meds
vitamins
food that needs to be taken with those meds/vitamins
when you’re sick/recovering from being sick:
fluids - the only time i’ll ever say drink your calories. drinking straight water not only tends to bother your stomach, but also it’s not healthy to just have water, esp if you’re throwing up. gatorade, juices, anything to get your fluids up and also help with salt/electrolytes.
small amounts of carbs throughout the day - having just fluid in your stomach will make it way more likely you’ll get sick. please try to eat very small amounts of carbs at least when you’re drinking to help it stay down.
meds/food with meds - obviously meds are never counted, but meds for sickness tend to require more food, especially for stuff like antibiotics, or you’ll get some really bad aches and cramps. try to eat at least a few ozs of bland starchy food, like bread, crackers, pasta, etc. I know it’s hard, but your body really needs it.
try not to count at all when you’re sick/getting over being sick. you’re almost guaranteed to lose or stay the same anyway, and your body really needs certain things to recover properly. being sick with EDs already sucks enough. try to be kind to your body.

today, i've eaten 4 small homemade chicken tenders and 10 crinkle fries. i don't know what the calories for that is and it's freaking me out.
on the bright side, today is my last day of work for the week and im leaving 3 hours early! i have more energy than i did yesterday and im 4 hrs and 26 mins into my new fast!
i kind of want to weigh in tomorrow, but i'm terrified.

Little reminders
Eating 1000 calories is better than a binge Eating 500 calories is better than eating 1000 Eating does not = binging
Maintaining weight is better than gaining Losing .1 is better than losing nothing Losing half a pound is better than nothing Not losing 1-2 lbs a day does not = failure
Doing only stretches and nothing else is better than not doing anything. Walking the dog once is better than only doing stretches Doing a short workout is better than no workout at all Not having a heavy workout day does not = doing nothing
Having one happy thought is better than none Being anxiety free for one 5 minute period is better than none Having a panic attack or episode does not = ruined day
Doing one piece of schoolwork is better than doing none Reading 5 pages of a book is better than reading none Doing part of your school work is better than doing none or a little Doing something is better than nothing Not doing everything in a day does not = day wasted
Not everyday is perfect
In fact most days aren’t
At the spot you are at now maybe no day is perfect
But little changes and little steps deserve praise
Any improvement is worth noting
Something is better than nothing

i started my 24 hr fast 28 minutes ago (midnight, nov 15)
i've noticed that every time i've eaten anything lately, no matter how small, i end up with terrible stomach cramps. at least it's more of an excuse not to eat. 🤷🏻♀️
