Today was spent replacing some windows in brick openings. The main difference in replacing Windows in brick openings vs non-brick openings is the use of a nail fin. Brick openings = no nail fin. Non brick openings = use nail fins. Using a fin is definitely the best way to install a window, but sometimes that's simply not an option.
