watching netflix slop while helping Bats deal with some health stuff and listen this isn’t news to anyone but the Electric State is unbelievably bad. How do you make a movie about robots that is so fundamentally and completely incurious about robots and humanity and consciousness
#obviously wasn’t expecting anything good from it but it’s still shocking how totally empty it feels#tbc ideas of humanity and consciousness are like central to the plot of the movie#but also the movie doesn’t give a fuck about actually thinking through anything. anything at all ever

#I’ll admit I’m not familiar with Brandt but this rules#remind me a lot of some of Paul Strand’s stuff but with a different edge to it#ugh it’s on the tip of my tongue. the heavy contrast and these huge deep shadows remind me of someone else.#not Hujar (bc now I’m just naming other contemporary b/w photographers) but someone……..#maybe it’ll come to me#ohhh
