Fuck AI Art

Art that is built on the bloodied and broken bones of other artists isn't art, it's an atrocity.

If you, in any way, think that using AI to create art, whether that's visual art or creative writing, please get the actual fuck off my page. And I am never going to stop being mad about it.

And before you say "Well at least I'm not selling the art!" or "It's just for fun!" why don't we use our braincells for a moment, yeah? This is basic economics. When the demand for something increases, the people manufacturing the product are led to believe that people want more of what they're producing and therefore produce more. In this case it means, steal more off of ACTUAL ARTISTS AND WRITERS to train their half-baked excuse of a machine.

I have 27 works on my ao3 page spread across years of breakdowns, celebrations, milestones, blood and love for what I do. 24 out of that 27 were stolen to be used to train AI.

I've been writing fanfics since 2021 and almost all of those stories have been stolen.

Mine isn't the only story. So many of my fellow fanfic writers and artists have similar stories that honestly instill a rage in me that I genuinely can't describe. The fact that these stories, these years of hard work and love are being stolen in a heartbeat makes me wonder about how much humanity we really have left. Do you sleep better at night, knowing that you stole art from people who have dedicated their lives to their craft?

Do you think that artists and writers come into this world with the ability to draw/write/create perfectly from the first try? Hell, if you ask any creator right now, from newbies to veterans, they will tell you that their art isn't perfect and that they're constantly trying to improve their art and reach new goals. Years and years of talent start from a scrappy drawing of Barney the Dinosaur or a cringe-worthy short story about Ben 10.

AI could never.

AI art is theft and if you disagree with that, please see yourself out. If you think that picking up a goddamn pencil or opening a new google doc is too much work, you don't deserve the art you consume.

Last book: Haven't read in a good long while but then I decided to read three books at once so right now I'm reading Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (the webtoon AND the webnovel), The Sun and the Star by Rick Riordan (solangelo my children) and Empireland by Sathnam Sanghera (literally the best thing ever)

Last movie: Genuinely can't remember the last movie I watched, that's how long it's been but I DID watch the 4-hour-long cutscenes from Mortal Kombat 1: Rebirth like a movie, that counts surely

Last tv show: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Currently rewatching and remembering how much I loved it, thank you very much
