ethan-andrews:
setting: Mercy Hospital starring: @wintergrayson
The nice thing with work is it distracted him from everything. He didn’t have to deal with his parents checking in or negative thoughts which took him to a not-so-wonderful mindset. It was him and whatever car in front of him for the time being. During his breaks he pulled up material for the upcoming EMT class which starts in 2 weekends. Maybe he can find someone to help him out with it? Couldn’t hurt. During his lunch break he checked his phone and texted Winter, soon learning she’s at the hospital. All this time he thought she was okay. That the crazy from the wedding sparred her because she was in a barn. Apparently not. Later, after he took a shower to wash the grime of the day off, Ethan returned to the hospital for the 2nd time that day and located Winter’s room. He waited for the nurse to step out and Ethan let himself in and waited for Winter to notice his presence. With a soft smile he said, “Hey…” He could only imagine how much she hated being in this room. “I didn’t realize you got hurt.” Did he even ask if she was okay that night?? “What happened?”
Winter was bored. She’d only been in a hospital for a few hours but she was already loosing her mind and wishing she was anywhere else. At the very least she’d managed to have a steady stream of visitors to keep her from climbing the walls. One person she hadn’t expected to see was Ethan but it was a nice surprise. Carefully she turned to face him and sat up. “Hey, it’s good to see you. I was worried.” She admitted. Figuring out the right amount to tell Ethan was a struggle. He’s already seen so much that probably didn’t make much sense to him, could Winter really add to that and risk him no longer trusting her? Telling him about her affiliation seemed like a bad idea but lying almost seemed worse. “I was kind of drugged, had my rib broken, was tied up and then put in a barn. That’s the cliffnotes version.”

Stella was still at Mercy Hospital, counting down the minutes until she could be fully discharged and on her way home. While she was still pretty sore and out of it, the girl was feeling better than the previous night. Wanting to stretch out her legs and get some semi fresh air, she snuck out of her room and walked down the halls in desperate need of seeing familiar faces. Peering into the opened doors of the other rooms, she was hoping that she could spot one person she didn’t mind being around because shit, she was feeling lonely while being here. When she noticed Winter, a smile formed on her face (the first real one since the reception).
“It’s just little ol’ me,” the blonde joked with the other girl. “Are you trapped here too I’m guessing?”
One night. 24 hours. That was the very maximum amount of time Winter was willing to be sat in a hospital bed and she’d been sure to let every member of staff know it. They had that long to run their tests and hook her up with some painkillers before she was going home. It wasn’t long into her stay when Winter had become bored and began pacing in her room. It was lucky that both her and Harrison had managed to bribe convince the hospital to give her her own room. When she heard the door to her room being pushed open she paused, getting ready to fight someone but she relaxed when she saw who it was. “Well I wouldn’t be here if I had a say in the matter. Harrison basically forced me here so, that’s fun. I’d ask why you’re here but - I think I can tell.”

“I’m sorry, I left my phone where the bridesmaids and I were getting ready and never went back for it,” Amalia quickly apologized to Winter, knowing she and the rest of her family were trying to get a hold of her that night. After getting back to the lake’s shore, the last thing on her mind was her phone. All she wanted to do was go home and try not to pass out from the pain on her way there. Shock overcame the Scordato daughter when her best friend revealed what exactly happened to her. “It’d be funny if you were tied up in the best way and didn’t get drugged and break a rib.” She spoke with a tiny grin spread across her face. “A new fun fact about me is that I can’t be around a large mass of water anytime soon. The Volkovs’ took me on their yacht and decided for me that an unexpected swim back to shore was more than necessary.”
“You don’t have to apologize I’m just glad to see you’re okay.” Winter smiled. With all of the chaos going on and everybody that ran through Winter’s mind, Amalia was the person she was the most worried about. Not being able to get in contact with her best friend was only making the panic worse. “Exactly.” She laughed, a nice stabbing pain reminding of her why she wasn’t supposed to be laughing. “They dumped you off a yacht? God, I’ve never hated people more in my life. What the fuck did they hope to appreciative last night? They just started a war that we’re going to finish.”

as soon as ethan dropped wren off at home the pads of her thumbs were darting across the screen of her phone, making plans with whichever one of her dealers was most readily available. if she stopped to think about everything that happened at the wedding, or began to dwell on the fact that she hadn’t been able to find her date and he wasn’t answering his phone, she would surely start to crumble, and that was something the blonde wasn’t about to do. after a quick outfit change she was out the door, in search of the high she desperately needed. and high she got.
soren couldn’t tell you how long had passed from when she left to when she’d arrived home, but hours had come and gone, and walking up the sidewalk to winter at her doorstep was a surprise. while she was glad her sister made it out okay, the we need to talk had her rolling her eyes. “ fucking shocking, truly. “ she muttered, digging her hand into the pocket of her sweatshirt and retrieving her house key. she unlocked the door and stepped inside, kicking off her shoes before she walked further into the house. “ i need a drink. “
Winter ignored her sister’s muttering until they got inside the house. She kicked the door shut and followed her baby sister into the house. It didn’t seem like the conversation would be overly easy, especially when Wren seemed to have no intention of being sober for it. She could have waited, she could have let her sister get a drink and sit down but time wasn’t a luxury Winter possessed. The more time went on, the more the pain in her side got worse. “Your date last night, Daniel is it? I’m going to murder him, just thought you should know. It’s only fair that I give you a heads up.”

STARTER 🤍 @wintergrayson
LOCATION: Mercy Hospital
Carmen didn’t have time to dwell on miserable people. After everything, she wanted to make sure her own were healing properly. They did not have time to waste anymore and it was go time. Making her rounds through Mercy Hospital was extremely depressing but it was for their own good. The amount of those who sustained injuries deserved answers and some sort of show of courage from their superiors. The box of food in her hand as she clicked down the hall way to the next victim, Winter. She was horrified at what happened to her, putting on a brave face as she entered the room to find her out of her bed suspiciously. Carmen raised an eyebrow, swinging the door closed behind her as she faced her with the food in her hands. “Where ya’ going?” She asked entertained by her antics already. She placed the food down in front of her with a grin. “Sit down, eat. Rest.”
The last place Winter wanted to be or felt like she should have been was Mercy hospital. As long as she had a steady stream of pain killers she was just fine, as long as she didn’t breathe too hard or move to much. After everything that had happened it was impossible for the blonde to sit still and wait for people to go to her. She needed to be up, she needed to be doing something to help their people. Winter’s position within the Scorpions held certain expectations and she refused to be seen as weak. In an attempt to visit some of the people she knew she snuck out of her own hospital room and started to roam the hallways. It wasn’t until she heard a familiar voice that she stopped walking. “Carmen hey!” She said, turning around with a smile that said I’m fine, nothing wrong here.

Harrison knew when he hugged Winter the day before, she was in trouble and he wasn’t surprised that she needed to go to the hospital. He also wasn’t surprised that it was him that was taking her there himself. Honestly, nothing in this world surprised the CEO at this point, other than the fact that it seemed liked the woman he called his sister seemed to not enjoy the ride there “ Stop opening the door, Winter. I’m getting us there in one piece.” Harrison replied with his gaze focused on the road as he picked up speed in his car. He really dared someone to stop him getting to the hospital. Her injury wasn’t the worst thing in the world, but that wasn’t going to stop him from helping her out.
The last place in the world that Winter wanted to be was stuck in hospital. The only person who was slightly more stubborn than her was Harrison and she knew there was no point in arguing with him. Her best bet was just to go and then to sneak out when he left. Still, she had to be a little bit dramatic about it first. Rolling her eyes Winter closed the car door once again and folded her arms. “I’m not happy about this. I know I’ve said that already but I’ll keep saying it until you turn the car around and let me go home. I have murders to plot.”

The plan had been an absolute success, and yet, nevertheless, Elena felt bad. There was that terrible feeling in her gut, and she refused to admit that it was worry; worry for nothing else but a woman that had been just as equally exposed during the wedding. Woman, who had gone ahead and revealed their secret to one of her worst enemies. She was lost, she was confused, and she had no idea what she was to do now.
First, however, Elena simply wanted to see Winter, to check if she was doing okay. The brief conversation over text wasn’t enough, so when she heard the doorbell ring, she was quick to make her way over to the front door. The sight she was met with, however, as the door was opened, was less than comforting. “You look terrible.” She spoke, more concerned than wanting to tease Winter as she stepped aside, letting the blonde in.
“Wow thanks.” Winter rolled her eyes, making her way inside the way too familiar house. Every time she was there with Elena it almost felt like things were fine, like they were normal. If she stopped thinking it was almost like there wasn’t a war raging on that they were on opposite sides of. “I think I look pretty good considering
Winter knew that they both had their questions and her original plan had been to let Elena speak first but as soon as the door was closed she couldn’t help herself. “So how did your deceleration of war go? Sorry I wasn’t there to see it, I was a bit tied up at the time. Do you guys think you’ve traumatized enough civilians now or will there be more? Just so I know what to say to the ones I care about. It’s always nice to give people a heads up about things even though I know that’s not your forte.”

president-scordato:
“I would like to strongly believe that knowing where people close to me are at all times is part of my job.” Guasparre spoke as he walked into the room. Ever since the damned event, he wanted to make sure that he kept tabs on everyone, wanting to make sure that they were taken care of and safe. While most tried to avoid hospital admissions, it still happened, and so he was careful and cautious. The police was already involved- he believed from both sides, in order to keep the event as secretive as possible- but things were still bound to slip through, and in a way, Guasparre needed that to happen. “How are you feeling?”
Even though she hadn’t been expecting to see Guasparre visiting her she was happy to see him. She was determined not to be in the hospital for long but while she was there It was nice to see some friendly faces. “I’m feeling like I have a broken rib but besides that, doing great.” She shrugged. Even though she was sat in a hospital bed her own well being wasn’t important to her, she was more focused on work than her own injuries. The blonde had never been happier for her private room, happy that she could speak with Gus openly. “Please tell me we’re getting them back for this. I want to set fire to everything they love on fire and dance in the flames. The Volkovs need to be knocked down a peg or ten.”

“You usually walk around with a knife in your hand like that?” He asked, gesturing with his free hand, the other still gripping the gun by his side, his elbow resting on the bar top. “I mean, granted I was absolutely shit faced by the time you found me at the Palooza, but I would have taken you for a gun sort of girl.” He shrugged his shoulders, trying to appear nonchalant. “But I suppose, what do I know, hm?” He raised and brow and remained firmly in his spot, glancing towards the space between himself and the doorway she needed. “I’m not stopping you, you’re welcome to make your way wherever you want. After all, that’s how you Scorpions conduct business, isn’t it? Doing whatever you want, without any regards for integrity or respect for the business?”
“Every now and then.” She replied simply, not feeling the need to explain the circumstances to him. It wasn’t her fault that she’d been tied up and needed to cut her way out. Plus, she had no idea what she was going to find waiting for her when she walked back into the reception venue, she needed to be at least somewhat armed. “I’m a whatever I have at the time kinda girl actually not that you would know anything about me from one conversation.” Winter began slowly walking closet to him and the direction of where she was trying to go but stopped. “That’s ironic. A Volkov lecturing me about integrity and respect, like you know what those words mean.”

amaliascordato:
This evening was one night Amalia will never forget. She watched two of her closest friends get married, was pulled away from the crowd by a handsome and evil Viper, and had a gun pointed at her head in public by Vasili himself. The Scordato princess screamed in terror as Kate died before her eyes, she sustained multiple injuries, was pushed off a yacht, and just learned that Winter was in the hospital. Once her cuts were patched up and she took a long shower, it didn’t take her long to arrive at Mercy to visit her best friend. She was incredibly weak and had been through more than enough for one night, but she couldn’t end it without checking in on her person. When the Scordato princess opened the door, relief flew through her body. “My dad told me you were here,” She said as she approached the blonde’s side. “I’m so glad to see you alive, Winter. How are you doing?”
Winter was a vain person. The idea of people seeing her in hospital, her makeup from the night before smudged and her hair messy horrified her. If anyone else was stood in front of her she would have hated it but Amalia wasn’t just anyone, she was one of the most important people in Winter’s life. “It’s so good to see you, I tried calling you last night, I could get through. I was worried.” Winter paused to swallow the lump in her throat. She didn’t want to admit to Amalia the thoughts that had been swimming around inside her head. “I’m okay, mostly thanks to the painkillers. Last night I was drugged, dragged inside a barn and tied up and I guess some time during all of that I broke a rib. It would be funny if it didn’t hurt so much.”

Where: Mercy hospital
Who: @branshapiro
As much as Winter didn’t want to be at the hospital she wasn’t completely stupid. The doctors seemed to want her to stay and get some painkillers and xrays and wasn’t complaining too much about that. At least whatever they were giving her was dulling the pain. In between doctors and nurses checking up on her Winter had managed to sneak out of her room. The idea of her going home had crossed her mind but when she heard a nurse mention of the main of a friend she changed her mind. Without drawing too much attention she slipped into Brandon’s room, making sure the door was firmly closed behind her. Winter wasn’t at her best, she was sure she had bags under her eyes, her hair was a mess and her makeup from the wedding was smudged but it wasn’t like Brandon was in a position to judge. “I heard you got shot.” She laughed, very quickly regretting it as pain shot through her body making her wince.

It was an idiot move to stay, and he knew that he should have hightailed it out of there, followed the escape route to the yacht, but he couldn’t help that he wanted to stay, perhaps just to catch the glimpse of someone he desperately needed to explain himself to. But that particular person had disappeared, and he wasn’t entirely sure what he should do in the wake of that fact. However, in an ironic and not at all funny twist of fate, making their way towards him was no other than the blonde he had the displeasure of meeting at the beach all those weeks ago. A scoff followed her comment, and he wondered if she was incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. “You know us Volkov’s, can never say no to a party, and what a spectacular one it turned out to be,” he almost sneered the words and found that despite his best efforts, there was still residual aggravation towards the other. An eye trained on the knife. A hand reaching into his jacket for his pistol. “You might want to make yourself scarce, because it doesn’t seem that I’m feeling all that charitable right now, and I’m not entirely sure they’ll be able to source another body bag tonight.”
Winter was barely listening to Vasili until she heard four words leave his mouth. You know us Volkovs. She couldn’t help but laugh, thoughts of Elena briefly entering her mind before she pushed them away. It wasn’t the time or place to be thinking about her. There was more pressing matters to deal with than her annoying feelings for the completely wrong person. Issues like a man stood in front of her than would most likely want revenge for her helping with a plot to stab him. Issues like her loved ones, some of which she still needed to check up on. Unfortunately she couldn’t go that with Vasili blocking her path. “Sadly I was a little too tied up to see the show. I really wish I could just turn around a walk away but I kind of need to go in the exact direction you’re standing in. If you’d like to be helpful and move out of the way to let me past that would be wonderful.”

When: Midday, the day after the wedding
Who: @elenaxvolkov
Winter hadn’t slept since the wedding. There were too many things to do and too many people to see for her to rest. Even when the drugs were leaving her system and the pain in her side was getting worse, she didn’t stop. Elena was her final stop of the morning before she finally let herself rest and as well as being her last, Elena was probably her hardest stop of the day. Even though she hadn’t seen any of the drama go down she had been told enough by various people to be angry. Not only had the Scorpions been ambushed but there civilians were caught in the crossfire too, including some she cared about. Part of her wanted to hear Elena out and part of her was just angry and annoying. Still she found herself, stood outside Elena’s door waiting to be let in. Her eyes begged for rest and her body was in pain but she still stood and waited, needing answers she could only get from one person.

When: The early hours of the morning after the wedding
Who: @ssxren
After everything that had happened that night Winter’s first call had been to her sister. Even though she wasn’t expecting wren back until the early hours of the morning she had camped out outside her door, determined to see her sister as soon as possible. Not only did she wanted to make sure Soren had escaped unharmed but there was also a pressing issue that Winter had to tell her about. Eventually her sister made her way over and Winter stood from her position leaning against the door, wincing slightly as she did so. “Good you’re home, can I come in? We really need to talk.”

Where: Mercy Hospital
When: The evening after the wedding
The last thing Winter wanted to do was be sat in hospital while the Vipers got away with everything they had done the night before. She was angry, more angry than she’d been in a while and all she wanted was revenge. However, as the day went on and the drugs from the night before made their way out of her system the pain in her side began to increase. As much as she didn’t want to be in hospital she decided to go for a check up and as soon as she told the doctors what was wrong, she got assigned to a bed and made to stay. It was miserable for her, especially when she felt like she didn’t need to be there. Winter had been sat in the bed of her private room, enjoying the pain killers when she heard the door open. “What part of I don’t need to be here do you people not fucking underst- oh.” She paused, realizing that the person in the doorway wasn’t who she expected it to be. “How did you know I was here? I thought I’d managed to keep it quiet.”
