At the beginning of each trimester, i promise myself that i'll study and get good grades but everytime, my phone addiction gets in the way. How do i end this vicious chain?
Thank you in advance <3
first of all im super happy that you have the self awareness to recognise the issue :) you already accomplished the first step girl!
phone addiction is something everyone deals with in this age unfortunately so you're not the only one. There are many ways to minimise being distracted with your phone such as putting it on work mode, not carrying it with you at all times, and deleting any apps that cause you to keep looking at your phone. At the moment I have no social media apps downloaded on my phone except for twitter for world news purposes. I even contemplated buying a dumbphone but the one I bought was faulty so Im still thinking about it as well.
The main thing would be for you to be conscious of what your using your phone for and deleting those distractions that waste every second of your life and prevent you from achieving your life goals. This can be tiktok, youtube, netflix, video games etc. I personally dont have netflix or tiktok but can be caught up in youtube sometimes. Reduce the things that distract you and you will see how your screen time drops. In the beginning you will reach for your phone, but slowly and consciously start preventing yourself from grabbing and checking everything every 2 minutes on your phone. :)
hope this helped <3

holistic wellness series: stretching
🌱 how often should you stretch?
it is good to stretch every day, but you should stretch at least 2-3x/week for your body to allow the benefits to take effect. stretching also doesn’t have to be time consuming. if you can only do a few minutes per day, that’s totally okay!
🌱 benefits of stretching
there are so many benefits to stretching consistently, including:
better circulation
improved flexibility and mobility
decreased risk of injury and pain
reduced mental and physical stress
better sleep
improved posture
supports digestion
🌱 personal tips
start slow! pushing your body farther than it can go is not worth it. i promise, you do not want to injure yourself. if you stay consistent, you will get to where you want to be, so only do what your body will allow!
watch “this is why i stretch every day (fascia documentary)” by kiana docherty on youtube. it gives an amazing overview of the benefits of stretching every day from a more medical and scientific perspective.
stretch after every workout. i know so many people avoid post workout stretching because they’re tired or they think it’s a “waste of time” but i promise, it is worth it. your muscles will thank you!

HOW TO STOP SELF SABOTAGING + DOUBTING
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MAKE YOUR GOALS/HABITS AN IDENTITY. Your lifestyle makes up who you are, quite literally. If you want to wake up early, then start identifying yourself as an early bird. If you want to get good grades, then start identifying yourself as a studious student. And so on.
This helps with feeling more accountable and committed to our goals and habits. However, don’t use this as a reason to overexert yourself.
THERE IS SOMETHING UNDERNEATH CERTAIN BEHAVIOURS. All of your bad habits stem from your subconscious. This is why mentally healthy people tend to think more about their physical health.
The best way to recognise patterns beneath your bad habits is just to talk to yourself. In any way or any form. Identify it, see what might’ve caused this subconscious thought and then work towards a way to replace the feeling that these bad habits give with a good one.
DETACH FROM THE OUTCOME. The more you fixate on the long-term results, the more longer, strenuous and exhausting your journey is going to be, especially because you’re going to want to give up as soon as results don’t appear. Focus on the short-term results.
You exercised? Now you feel good inside. You studied hard and understood everything? Great job for being so productive. You did that one really scary thing? What a great start!
THE PART OF YOU THAT DOES BAD HABITS IS NOT BAD. It is the complete opposite of bad. It loves you and wants to keep you safe, so it refrains you from doing anything ‘scary’ (which is typically new things in our lives) and makes you fall back on ‘safe’ habits which are a coping mechanism.
So, instead of berating that part of you that participates in bad habits even if you know it’s bad, understand it. As these coping mechanisms usually stem from our childhoods, we turn to these habits when we feel stressed, anxious or depressed.

Secret of the elite woman; you don't secure the bag. You secure the network that secures the bag. Network = networth, if I have to text you this everyday @ 5 am I will.
There are tons of information out there on how to network (I have an ebook on it too on my website) but we barely talk about who to have in your network. Making friends is cool but you need friends that will level you up and keep you up there, power is stored in webs. Well then what kind of friends will make a strong web? As your self appointed big sister let me take the liberties
Finance Barbie. Yeah. You need a bestie in finance, mainly accounting, investing and basically banking. Now much respect if you are good with the numbers queen but for the rest of us mortals we need help all year round. When you build your web find you a finance queen that will keep you up to date with finance trends, the stock markets, currency, help you out with accounting &c.
Law Barbie. You want to never get screwed over? Find you a friend from the law (sector?). My business was literally saved by a thing a lawyer friend said in passing, this is one of the pillars of a succesful person. Eventually you'll have to hire a lawyer don't leech off the homegirls pay what's due but you will pick literal life changing information from this bunch.
Law enforcement. Might be the immigrant in me but being friends with a ranking officer in law enforcement has saved my hide countless times and I overall feel safer knowing a couple of people in uniforms got my back. Plus if you're an immigrant the social navigation that comes with a friend in uniform is Godsent.
A social butterfly. We need socialite friends besties. I'm looking at you introverts. I have an influencer social butterfly friend that has introduced me to most if not almost all of the opportunities I've had. There is a special place in heaven for girlies that know who is who, who is doing what when, which restaurant has the best meals &c. Us introverts appreciate you you have no idea.
A religious bestie (if you are religious) . Honestly this girl I met in church five years ago is probably responsible for my faith still being intact. Get you someone to keep you in line. To worship and pray with. To remind you how it is.
& sis remember relationships are an exchange of value. You need to bring something to their table, don't be leeching okay? Okay.

For my girlies that want to be really succesful and happy but have not figured out yet ie. Are yet to connect with their life's purpose and/or choose a career, here's the tip of the century: devote your time to learning a diverse group of practical, timeless and mostly widely applicable skills. Examples?
Language. Learning a parent language eg German or Spanish or Mandarin will never not come in handy. When you do figure out your career this skill will find a way to be applicable. Let's not forget the networking opportunities plus if there is a foreign aspect to it eg an office abroad guess who will make the list.
Dance or music. Mostly classical. This might not apply to your career if it's not in the arts but it connects you to your feminine creative side, is great for your mental health, brings a touch of sophistication to you, the health benefits and oh so impressive. Plus it's music sis. Music solves everything.
Crafts(wo)manship. We are talking knitting, pottery, crotchetting, couture, etc. One, hobby. Two, Etsy. Three, sophistication. Four, femininity. Five, you'll give the best gifts over Christmas, trust me.
Swimming, driving, flight, etc. I am 100% convinced swimming and driving are basic life skills. Will there ever be a day in your life when you'll regret that you can drive? Or swim? Unless you're angling for driver it might not contribute to your career but it will to your life.if you can get a flight license do that. If you can get a motorcycle license do just that. Even if it's a hot air balloon, do just that. You can not convince me swimming is not a life skill I am literally surprised by people that can't swim. Never been in a flood huh.
Social skills. The thing about social skills is that they are, drumroll, SKILLS. Skills are not inborn, they are learned and we live in the era of Robert Greene and Genie Sayles and Dale Carnegie and free online courses and if there is one set of skills that's the backbone of everything its this one. There is no time having social skills will not help. Not professionally. Not socially. Not even in your family. Or friends. Whatever your life purpose is, you will need social skills. Communication is the key to EVERYTHING.
"Health" related skills. I'm talking gut health, get a first aid certification, learn herbs and holistic methods and reiki and yoga and all that. Your wellbeing shouldn't even be a choice honestly. Is there one time being at prime health will Not come in handy? No. Till you figure stuff out learn the right foods, learn to heal your gut, learn quick first aid tips, learn how your body works, learn female reproductive health, learn evolutionary psychology- stack up on the health.if your community has traditional healing methods learn that. Especially those of us that want to be moms? You'll need this so bad.
Fashion, styling, beauty. Because we are women and let's be honest , it's much easier and better when you finally learn to style yourself and express yourself through your clothing & make up &c &c and do what's good for your skin and hair and- you get it. Is there a day you will not need to dress? No? There you go
Financial education. Now if I need to explain this to you please meet me out back I just wanna talk
You don't have to figure out your entire future to invest in it.

𝐀 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥—𝐈𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DEFINITION— Simply put, ‘that girl’ is who everyone wants to be. She’s healthy, knows her priorities, and most importantly, she puts herself first. She is determined and sets her goals straight, no one can distract her and she knows she’s bound to achieve whatever she wants.
STEP 1— Set A Goal
As previously mentioned, that girl is the epitome of determination, a true girlboss and she knows exactly what she wants and stops at nothing to get it. Now, let's take a moment to envision her daily routine and lifestyle. Picture how she's always striving toward one goal or another, whether they’re academic or fitness achievements, she’s always in constant motion with an occasional break.
Here's the exciting part: those qualities you admire so much, you can make them your own. You can turn those aspirations into your reality. It's not about copying her, but rather drawing inspiration from her and crafting your unique path to success.
So, take a list and start setting milestones. Imagine the perfect girl and write down everything you admire about her. Is it her perfect grades? Her body fitness? How she’s never procrastinating? Her time-management skills? Determination? Write it all down!
Now, with everything written down. You’re going to make these points of hers into yours. You’re going to stay committed and actively pursue these qualities until you find yourself in a place you once deemed remarkable.
STEP 2— Plan Your Success
In this stage, you might be a little overwhelmed. There are things you want to work on but you don’t know which one to choose, or whether you have the time to do so. But don’t worry, because it’s all about choosing your priorities and having to manage your time.
The first thing you want to do is get a journal or you can use Notion/Google Calendar if you’re lazy like me. Then, write down all of your fixed schedules (like classes, tuition, or part-time) and make out at least an hour at the end of each weekday.
Ask yourself specific questions to clarify your priorities. Is your main goal to get fit or have an academic comeback? Or do you want to focus on both fitness and your studies?
Build your schedule around your key goals. This means you should prioritise and allocate time for the most important objectives or ambitions you have in mind.
!!⠀if you’re having trouble with making up a schedule, feel free to dm me/send in an ask. I’ll be more than willing to help ♡︎
STEP 3— True Competition Is Determination and Discipline
It’s not about how much you’re doing in a period of time, in the end, you’re going to be burnt out and tired. It’s more about how consistent you are. Yes, it might get tiring at one point; and that is when you slow down and cut yourself some slack while keeping the drive going.
You are really training your discipline instead of running on motivation that is bound to run out. That’s why you don’t see ‘that girl’ everywhere. Because everyone lacks discipline and commitment, they’re afraid of being in uncomfortable situations and would rather mindlessly scroll on tiktok than really challenge themselves.
Working on a goal is all about determination. It tests how badly you want it and how much you’re willing to sacrifice for it. But let me tell you, your sacrifices will never be a waste.
STEP 4— Breaks Are Part of The Process
What I hate seeing the most is how people work non-stop with no breaks. If your goal is to be burnt out within a or two week, feel free to be my guest and do what you’ve got to. Your body and mind is not a machine, because you are human and you deserve breaks.
Whether that is self-care nights, going out with friends, or literally just laying in bed and watching Netflix. You choose your breaks and how often you get them. But be careful not to get carried away and lose sight of your milestones (because I’ve fallen into this trap once too many times).
In the end, balance is key! You want to be on the grind, and still be able to maintain connections and have fun. If you’re capable of finding your balance, let me tell you you’re just on your way to success.
TIPS—
ꕤ Romanticise The Hell Out of The Process
One of the best advice I can give is literally romanticise everything. Get cute stationaries to study with, dress up all pretty just to go study at a cafe/wear your pretty pink gym outfits, listen to songs that put you into the mood, or imagine yourself as the main character of your movie to success (I use this sometimes when I’m really desperate and also bc I’m a delulu).
ꕤ Don't oversleep on weekends; wake up early to make the most of your time.
Tbh I get low-key annoyed when people sleep in during the weekends because of the time wasted you could’ve used to get ahead of others!!
ꕤ Use Social Media To Your Advantage
I’m never one to be against social media unless you’re not using it to your advantage. For example, your tiktok feed is most probably about trendy videos and memes. But, why not make your feed about motivation, videos that educate you on certain matters and actually bring you knowledge?
ꕤ Take Inspirations/Motivations From Others
I’m personally a pretty competitive person so looking at people who received Academic Achievers awards really pisses me off and makes me motivated to study harder lol. Try to find your tick and make use of it.
Tumblr media
Now that you’ve finished reading this post, it’s time to set your mind on your goals and girlboss your way to it. So my angels, good luck and don’t stop working until you are her.

Girlish Charm?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My Oma completely believes that the one thing that a woman will always be able to depend on is how good of a charmer she is. You don’t have to be stunningly beautiful, you don’t have to be six feet even and slender, and you don’t have to have perfect teeth. You just have to be able to talk in the right tone and say the right words, know when a soft hand placed on the side of a man’s arm is appropriate, and be able to emote with your eyes. The gruffest of men love a little charm and it works on all men; I can’t name a single man out there who wouldn’t fall for a woman who could easily use her eyes and the softness of her voice to bewitch him and there’s next to no trickery involved, it’s all skill.
One of the women I was lucky enough to have help raise me as child is no looker, that’s the first thing she’ll say about herself when asked what she thinks her strengths are. She has crooked teeth, coke bottle glasses and a permanent squint, she has scoliosis and issues walking, and the gruffest of men are enchanted by her, ask after her, and try to keep her happy. She has an exquisite way of speaking and has been asked up to Tokyo year after year since 1978, she’s confident and her voice has been steady and soft for years now, she knows when to make jokes, she’s demure but not too shy, and she keeps up to date with the goings on of the world and pays attention when others are speaking.
I learned the tricks of the trade from a woman who went to ask for more food rations one day and was told “don’t ask me what you can do for me, let me ask you what I can do for you”. Is my Oma a stunner? To me, yes, she’s 96 now but has never lost her hold on any of the people she’s known throughout life and she still is asked to go to all manner of places to see old friends or because someone’s grandpa is dying and would love to see her face one last time. She tells a story where one of the men she knew before the war got himself blown up, went temporarily blind, and requested that she come to see him when she could to read to him and then come back when he was having the bandages taken off his eyes so that the first thing he saw was her. Did she go? No, I don’t think she wanted him to have the privilege of seeing her but she kept enough mystery to keep him wanting more and it worked out.
The fact of the matter is that great beauty matters not when social skills are not up to par and being able to show your inner beauty through your speech and your mannerisms is a highly desirable trait. I grew up being told that my movements needed to be more liquid, that my jaw needed to be looser when I spoke, and that I needed to be able to make eye contact at the right time but not constantly. One does not have to be perfect, that’s why there’s a “girlish” before charm, but trying and succeeding about 85% of the time is what makes the world go round and learning what to do and when you need to do it is what my Oma has been sure to impress upon me throughout the majority of my life.

Whilst you nourish your body with exercise, slow yoga, nighttime body milk, adorn it with jewellery and sultry perfume, carefully drape it with clothes that fit… don’t forget to nourish your mind. Classical music, podcasts, brain games like crosswords, sudoku, mental math, art even if you’re terrible at it, gardening even if your plants never seem to grow, cooking even if you might burn the house down - embrace learning, embrace curiosity, and enjoy your own company. Be the best wife you could be to your own self first. Care for yourself, defend yourself, grow, teach, constructively criticise yourself; be the best parent you could be to yourself.

bring headphones and listen to music in between classes
study in a comfortable place with candles
find a good group of friends with similar interests to you
book a yoga session for after your classes
join a club
plan your outfits the night before and wear something that expresses you
have an organized bag with everything you need
pack a delicious lunch with food you enjoy
make organized notes of the lesson
i'm trying a new style of blogging, let me know what you think! remember you're loved! <3
