" i guess not, " he responded. the other was a stranger after all. and if he was stealing here, he wondered if he did it often. but everyone had a story. some people struggled, others didn't. he wasn't sure if this dude was or not. " i see, " he said. " not really. i just ended up waking early today. thought i'd check it out. found some interesting things. "

Jules grinned. "I mean, I made up all the bullshit about the husband and the nanny, but it sounds like it could be real, doesn't it? Maybe I'm psychic, actually, and I for real know what her life is. Or maybe I'm projecting. You'll never know, will you?" He raised his eyebrows, trying to look mysterious and sort of failing. "What, steal soap from sad housewives? No. It's not really my thing. How about you? You a frequent flyer at the farmer's market?"

       he turned to fully look at the other and he chuckled. then he turned to look at the view of the city and he nodded. it definitely was nice. " yea, it looks good from up here. " he said. " like, it's actually peaceful. " he says as he takes a breather. " i always say, hiking really let's you have some peace of mind. the view is better from above anyway. "

CJ didn't usually come to this place to hike. She wasn't exactly a hiking person. But it was a place to escape to for some quiet. There were just a couple of the hikers around and they mostly kept to herself, so she could just sit on some rocks and enjoy a bit of peace. Away from it all, it felt like she could imagine she was anywhere else besides here. "Yeah, I just come for the view."

       " wow, that's so sweet of you, " winter smiled. it was nice of her, even though she didn't have to. winter had a job, and money. but madi was insistent, and winter wouldn't turn down a free drink. " very in the fall vibes, " he said. " i think, i might do a pumpkin spice latte. very in season, " he chuckled.

"Well it's your lucky day then, Winter because I'm going to pay for you since I was so inconsiderate." He tapped her chin a couple of times as she wasn't sure if she should change her mind but she was set on what she wanted. "I think I am going to go with the cinnamon cream cold brew because that sounds really good. Even though we don't experience an autumn here, I like to think we can!"

" yea. i'm going to miss it when it's winter. once it hits november, it's like a twenty degree difference and i need a sweater for all outdoor things, " he said. winter looked down at the dog and he smiled, loving dogs himself. he kneeled down, scratching the back of her ear and chuckling when he felt the kisses. " oh, she's adorable. what's her name? "

katherine was taking a needed hike with her german shepherd leia, enjoying the weather before it got colder and she wouldn't be up for these for the winter. she stopped on a trail noticing she wasn't alone anymore. her eyes widened when the man was suddenly without a shirt but she didn't want it to look like she was staring. ''oh me too. she loves it too.'' she took it as a way to look down at her dog sitting by her feet. ''this weather is perfect.''

       one thing that winter always loved about los angeles was that the weather was always so nice. even when it was autumn, the temperature was still hot. today was no different. the fact that it was in the eighties, winter wanted to take the opportunity to enjoy the day. so he took the trails, hiking, getting a little workout. he could feel the sweat that eventually he took his shirt off and tucked it in his shorts. " man, i forgot how good it feels to H I K E these trails, " he said to the person near him.

       winter looked up after he heard the comment that the other man said. " oh god, you know the whole story, don't you? " he said, letting a soft chuckle escape his lips again. " i guess, that will have to do, " he responded. " don't get caught by someone else, they might actually drag you back and force you to tell them you S T O L E . " he shook his head. he put the money back in his pocket and he looked over at the hats he had his eyes on. " so–– do you do this often ? "

"Because she already looks like she's gonna be divorcing her rich husband in the next five years or so. I mean, how long can she keep it to herself that she knows he's sleeping with the nanny?" Jules shrugged, pocketing the soap again. "I'll donate it. Like Robin Hood. Stealing from the rich extortionists and giving to the poor and needy," he reasoned, grinning.

       winter chuckled. he wasn't able to see the board so he didn't pay much attention to it, letting madi order before him. when she turned, winter looked up at her and he smiled. " oh–– you're fine mads. i was just going to let you finish before i went, " he laughed. once she had moved, he looked up at the menu and he cocked his head. Madelena was ready to get her day started and she liked to start it with a coffee because she was a monster when she didn't have her morning caffeine. Madi made her way into the cafe and she was so lost in thought about what to order this time. She was in her typical mindset of getting her coffee that she didn't realize she was in someone's way from being able to see the board. She turned around and looked at the other person and she laughed, embarrassed of herself. "Oops, sorry about that Winter! You know me, I tend to be so distracted in the morning until I get my coffee in my hand."

       winter kept his eyes on the other. he wasn't expecting the other to show him that the soap lady was a F R A U D . eyes widened upon seeing the soap, and looking what looked like a different logo on it, like he stated. " wow, so she is phony. why not call it out? " he responded. " i'm surprised to know that you caught that so well. " he said. winter glanced down at the soap and then back up at the other. " well, it still doesn't mean you should steal it. but i guess it cancels itself out since she's lying about the product. " // @juleswalker

Jules frowned, not exactly loving the judgmental expression on the other's face. "Did you not hear the way she talked to me? Besides, she didn't make this herself, and it's not made with natural ingredients," he said, looking over his shoulder to make sure the soap booth was far enough away that he wouldn't be seen, and then took the soap out of his pocket and held it out to the other. "See this indentation?" It was barely visible, sticking out from the paper label the woman at the booth had wrapped around the soap. But there was a logo peeking out from underneath it, the edge of one anyway. "My sister used this brand, back when we were in high school. The only thing that phony did with her hands was put a cheap printed label on someone else's old soap," he said, rolling his eyes. "And then she was a bitch about it, to boot."

       when he heard the other mention the price of the soap, he chuckled. everything out here was E X P E N S I V E , but mainly because they were home made. and when he noticed that the other had stolen the bar of soap, he sighed. once the other noticed that winter saw it all, he shook his head. he grabbed his wallet, and gave him a fifty. " go back, and buy it from her, " he said. " making soap with natural ingredients isn't easy. the fact that she hand makes them herself, she deserves being compensated for, " he responded. " come on! " he said.

“Thirty-five dollars for a bar of soap?” Jules didn’t think he’d said it too loudly, but the woman behind the table just trying to sell her goods definitely heard him. She mumbled something about being all-natural and yada yada, he wasn't really listening, too focused on the fact that her tone and her expression were smug as hell. And besides, he’d always hated being chastised. When it seemed like she was finished, he turned to leave, but then thought better of it. As he turned back around, he noticed her attention was on a new potential customer, so he reached over and grabbed the bar of soap he’d been eyeing, pocketing it before hustling away. Jules didn’t get far before making eye contact with someone who definitely looked like they’d seen him, and he stopped walking, cheeks burning from the entire encounter. Well, oops. "I'll give you, like, ten dollars worth of this soap if you keep your mouth shut," he muttered, nodding solemnly as if it were a good deal.

       winter laughed. of course he was only kidding, and he enjoyed teasing others when he could. " hmmm, maybe just a little, " he teased again. " no, east, definitely not. you're much P R E T T I E R than the frog. " he smiled. " i was only teasing you. " winter smiled, as he took the phone and compared the two once more. " you might have their lips, " he teased again, laughing afterwards.

" no, no, i'm not the frog, " he laughed, brows furrowing slightly above sparkling blue - green eyes as he held his phone up next to his face, " we don't look that much alike, " a brief pause and a double take at the picture, " d - do we ? did i turn green overnight ? " a tone of slight panic in his voice.

       winter nodded. " yes, that's right. it happens to be my favorite movie, " he said. " and i told myself when i was younger that one day, if i ever have a dog, i would name it pongo, " he smiled. " thanks, " he said. " i know. i honestly didn't think he would easily get out of it. but woe is me, " he said as he looked at his puppy. " all that energy just to E S C A P E , " he chuckled. winter looked over the other. " he seems to like you a lot, since he was following you for awhile. "

"Hey," he greeted in return once shifting his attention away from the dog and at the other. "Pongo? He's named after the one from One Hundred and One Dalmatians? Sweet." JC watched when the other grabbed the puppy. Since the pup wasn't complaining he assumed the guy must be its owner. Well, given how the little dog had been acting around him who was a complete stranger, he might let anyone grab him. So, JC hoped this truly was his owner. "It's fine. You might want to invest in a smaller leash to prevent him from running away again."
