I wasn't expecting to be hit with the feels already, this is so soft 😭😭😭 You can see the gentle care and longing of Ireland in how he holds baby North. And the way the smol bean is all snuggled up is *chef kiss*. The more I stare at it, the more emotional I get because we all know this precious moment is only temporary *sobs*

okie dokie—first post on the new blog, and i had to share the blorbos. @winterwrites23’s string of time fic (and all the worldbuilding that’s come from it) is my favorite thing in the entire world, and the dynamic they created between ireland and north will be the absolute death of me. what can i say, i’m a sucker for daddy issues lol

i can’t help but think about these two in the years before things went cold. i’ve got so many questions about what happened between them, but until the day comes when everything is revealed, i will continue to theorize, make myself sad, and doodle cute stuff until i feel better

hi! any chance you’ve got music head cannons for the boys? i know that we get a bit of sean’s music taste in the main story, but what about the others?

i want to make playlists for them because i love them lol

This is a hard question, anon, because I have such a weird taste in music, and 80% of it consists of Celtic music xD Also, I rarely pay attention to lyrics or who even sings it. So my headcanons for the boys' music taste will focus more on the ✨vibe✨than the meaning behind the songs/music. (It's also going to be pretty vague because again, my music taste is pretty niche so I might be biased lol)

Ireland: I don't know why, but I see Ireland as a guy who likes jazz, especially for its improvisational nature. He loves the peppy rhythm and the spontaneity of it. He also listens to modern folklore music, like the group Kíla (this is one of my favourites <3).

Scotland: Hard rock music from the 60s/'70s or the kind that gives you the biker type vibe. He likes fast and loud tempos, especially the solo riffs. Or that one '70s roadtrip' playlist you can find on Spotify lol. Shamelessly has 'Shake that Bagpipe' from The Sidh as his ringtone.

Wales: Out of the brothers, he's the one who likes to listen to folklore/classical music the most. He likes paying attention to the vocals as he believes it's a way to hear someone's soul. The more emotional and haunting it is, the better. Likes to hum creepy songs around his brothers to mess with them. He also has a guilty pleasure in listening to electro swing lol.

England: Pop/punk rock music and sometimes even heavy metal when the moods hit him. Oftentimes listens to flamenco music to give him the impression that his cooking is better than before (it's not). Has a playlist called 'Classical music', but it's actually full of K-pop and J-pop songs. He blames America for this.

Northern Ireland: Prefers pop music from the 80s-90s to the current one, says the ones of today are too short/repetitive. Claims to know the popular song of the year, but it's actually a song from ten years ago. Movie soundtracks are his go-to when trying to focus. He has a penchant for indie rock and is an expert in meme songs.

i’ve been rereading a lot of your old posts lately—head canons, drabbles, anything and everything i can get my hands on. i truly cannot express how utterly enthralled i am by your worldbuilding and how much of an absolute chokehold your version of the UK+Ireland has on me. it’s gotten to a point where anytime i see random trends online, i think to myself “omg this is so norn coded” or “hey, this is like that one post winter made”.

i recently graduated from university with an art degree, and while i don’t want to say you’re the reason i got a degree, i know the copious amounts of sot fanart i’ve drawn over the years definitely helped improve my skills lol. i wanted to ask if 1) you’d be alright if i posted my art of your story on tumblr and 2) would you be okay with me tagging you in it? totally fine either way, but i’d feel weird if i didn’t ask for permission first

I hope this doesn’t come across as entitled (if it does, or you simply don’t feel like answering, please feel free to ignore this), but I was just curious if you had a rough time estimate for the next chapter of SoT to drop? I absolutely adore your work, and I often find myself rereading all your head canons and specific chapters from the main fic because I just can’t get enough. Like straight up, this has become a major hyperfixation of mine over the past few years lol

I’m excited to see how the story progresses!

It doesn't come across as entitled at all, anon. I'm WELL AWARE it's been a while since I updated. Did you know I was supposed to post the new chapter waaaaay back in JUNE of 2024??!! And here we are, slowly approaching a new summer, and I'm still halfway finished with the chapter (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

Motivation has been a real struggle lately, and I've been super busy this past year because of school. And whenever I do find time to write, I'm either super tired or the mood isn't there at all 😭😭😭

I wish I could say the next chapter may be ready for this summer but I can't guarantee it. And believe me, it's as frustrating as you think because I WANT TO FINISH SOT. This story has been my emotional support for years, and I don't want to give it up. I have a whole plan for it; I have a beginning and an end. I just need to find the words.

It's been three years (and 15 days) since I drew my first fan art for @winterwrites23's fanfic called String of Time. In honor of rereading the series and the happiness it brought me during boring days, I decided to redraw it.

You know, when I listen to music, I never pay attention to the lyrics. I could hear a song on repeat a hundred times, yet I would still only know a few lines. I will know the whole melody by heart, but the lyrics never stick to me, let alone the meaning behind it.

Anyway, that's all to say that recently I wanted to learn the lyrics of a song because the melody was super catchy and guys... I wasn't expecting the words:

"Million dollar dick"

And to this day, I still cackle whenever it comes up because I never realized the song I was obliviously humming along was about bdsm 😂😂😂

Omg there's an even bigger snowstorm coming up!! We're expecting to get over 40cm starting tomorrow :D So the big question is:

Will the cars be buried this time?

Dude, I gotta be blunt do people still get that much snow in real life. Where I live we get some snow but I've never seen car buried or more than a foot maybe. Tell me it's real pls

Back then, we used to have a lot of snow, like above the knee high and more, and snow-covered cars were a pretty common thing during winter. But now, with how warm the world has been in the last 20 years, our winters are out of whack. One day it can be -5C and the next it’s -25C only to rain the next morning. And that means we don’t get that much snow as frequently which absolutely sucks.

The countryside and northern regions still get their usual 30cm of snow, but where I live, it’s become a rarity. I took a picture of before and after the “big snowstorm” and compared to how much it used to snow, this is nothing lol.

There’s a huge snowstorm coming and we’re expecting to have over 30cm of snow throughout the night!! Schools will be closed tomorrow and we were told to just stay inside just in case.

With all this hype, I’m expecting to wake up tomorrow to cars completely buried in snow ❄️❄️❄️
