EVENT: Start Up Loans Showcase
Wireside Productions were invited by Start Up Loans UK to showcase ourselves infront of Dragons Den Entrepreneur James Caann + Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Press Release:
Jason Brown and Michael Evans’ company Wireside Productions (http://wiresideproductions.com) was one of just four businesses from the North West chosen to meet the Prime Minister and Dragon’s Den star and Chairman of the Start Up Loans Company James Caan at an event hosted by Business Finance Solutions in Preston on Thursday 3 January. David Cameron was in the North West to announce that the Start Up Loans initiative will receive an additional £30million, taking the total funding to £110 million, and the age range will be expanded from 24 to 30.
Having grown up together and after spending five years studying film and media in both secondary and higher education, Michael Evans & Jason Brown set up Wireside Productions as a contemporary film and media production company that provides high quality and professional standard moving image & photography to their clients.
While they divide some task playing to individual strengths, such as Michael looking after finances and Jason being customer facing, they both work on the films, which are their real passion. In 2012 they produced a music video in LA that had over 20million hits:

Michael and Jason are using the Start Up Loans money to launch their business by building a website that properly represents their product and to market the services by directing traffic to the new website.
Prime Minister David Cameron said: “It was really good to meet some brilliant entrepreneurs in Preston who have got their loans and have got great businesses underway. Some of them are already employing people, which is great news for them and great news for the economy. These loans are a brilliant way to help this next generation of entrepreneurs get the financial help – and the confidence – to turn that spark of an idea, into a growing, thriving business. It is by backing our entrepreneurs and championing small business that we can drive forward and grow the economy, and equip this country for the highly competitive era we are in.”
Jason said: “It was a great day and really inspiring to be surrounded by like-minded people. For our business to be acknowledged by the PM and James Caan gives us great confidence going forward and it really was a landmark day in our company’s history. I think the Prime Minister was delighted to see the Start Up scheme having a positive impact; he could see from all the businesses there that everyone was really serious about their making a success of their ventures and products.”
The Wireside team also met Start Up Loans Chairman and Dragon James Caan. Michael said: “It was really inspiring to meet James Caan. We don’t really have a business background ourselves so have been meeting a lot of people with experience to try and learn from them – James just takes that to a whole different level and you could see he had a genuine passion to try and help all of us.”
The Start Up Loans are delivered in Greater Manchester by Business Finance Solutions and successful applicants also receive expert mentoring and business support and training delivered by the Business Growth Hub.

TOUR VIDEO: FUNK VOLUME
Video By: Michael Evans + Jason Brown
Video Info:
Wireside Productions reached out to Funk Volume to see if they had anybody to film their UK leg of their World Tour. It was an opportunity for us to get our foot in the door in an area of filming that we would like to do more of.
We met them in London to record their session with Radio 1's Tim Westwood and then went on to film their Tour Footage at XOYO, London + Sound Control, Manchester. It was great to reunite with Hopsin and catch up since the last time we saw him in LA.

Music Video: The Last Party
The Last Party - Devils Lips
Directed By: Andy P Ellis + Jamie Shelton
Produced By: Northern Lads Productions
Cinematography: Wireside Productions
Video Info:
We were contacted by Northern Lads Productions in October 2012 who were planning the shoot for up and coming Manchester Band, The Last Party. They reached out and asked us to shoot the video, which we were more than happy to do. Andy + Jamie are both well renowned for their roles in Emmerdale (Jamie) and This is England (Andy) and it was a pleasure to work along side them.
There are already plans to work alongside them again in the future.

Addition to the team: Stephen Darwin
Stephen graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in June 2012, the same time as Michael + Jason. After talking to Stephen and discussing the direction that we wanted to take the company, he decided to come on board with us to expand the company into Music Management + Development, something we are looking to launch early/mid 2013.
Welcome to the team!

Back in the UK.
After returning to the UK, we decided that instead of going out and getting a job, we wanted to make Wireside Productions an official company and work for ourselves. After what we had done in America, we wanted to keep the momentum going.
In November 2012, Wireside Productions was made into a limited company and in December 2012, our application for a Start Up Loan was approved and we began to build the company.

MUSIC VIDEO: Beau & Belle
Whilst interning at Dick Clark Productions, we began talking to Jeanette Shroyer (One half of Beau & Belle) who was interested in us shooting a music video for her song 'Hole'.
Ourselves and Ryan again sat down and began coming up with concepts for the video that went against the typical thoughts that matched the sound of the song. Once conceptualised, we produced and directed the video near Barstow in the California Desert.
The video is still in Post Production, whilst the band decide when they want the video to be released!

Aplus Filmz + Andy Grammar Shoots.
After the success of the Hopsin video (see further down the page) Wireside Productions were invited to work on some high profile video shoots in Downtown Los Angeles.
Aplus FIlmz
We met with Fredo Tovar and his brother Edwin from Aplus Filmz in Westwood Village - where we discussed video projects + working for yourself. Fredo gave us some important advice about working in the music video industry, keeping true to ourselves and our craft. Following the discussion, Aplus invited us to assist on the Function Remix with household names such as; Chris Brown, Young Jeezy + E-40. We went to Downtown Los Angeles on the 17th July and worked on the sets/backgrounds, assisting tasks and some time in the camera department. Shout out to Aplus Filmz.
Andy Grammar Shoot
A friend on Campus at UCLA who works at a music video production company, invited us to get involved with a rooftop music video shoot for artist Andy Grammar. We went along, again to Downtown LA, to help set up the shoot and work alongside the First AD to make sure things were running smoothly. We worked on the lighting set ups and also the set design.
