Shokudaikiri looked away for a moment from what he was preparing in the kitchen and spotted her standing beside him as she reached out to him. It was an odd sight to see but he could clearly tell she was trying to get his attention for something.

“Are you in need of something Master?” He asked as he knelt down to her level. However, he wasn’t expecting to receive a head pat afterwards.

“Thank you Master.”

Yukina was starting to slightly regret this decision. With the amount of mouths they had to feed, even with the help of a handful of swords including Shokudaikiri, she’d be on a tight schedule and most likely wouldn’t have any time to take breaks. Add in the fact that she was up late translating recipes and converting units for several traditional Thanksgiving foods, and she was already tired.

“Start on the crusts for the pies, please. I’ll get started with the stuffing so I can get the turkeys taken care of so we can get other things started before they have to go into the ovens.”

She let out a quiet sigh. “I should’ve been born an octopus. Then I’d have enough hands to take care of all this. Maybe I should’ve called Mom and Dad here, but they’d kill me if they learned I live with a ton of men…”

Shokudaikiri began to do as she told and started working on the pie crusts. However, while he was focused on working, he didn’t miss the first part of what she said following his task.

He glanced over in her direction with a soft smile on his face. “While I understand that this is a difficult task to carry on, no one is expecting you to take care of it all by yourself Master. We understand that you just want to share this western tradition with us and we’re here to help.”

It was rather early in the morning. While Shokudaikiri didn’t have all the knowledge about Thanksgiving Day, he wasn’t about to turn down his Master’s need to celebrate such a western holiday since she had a fascination for it. It was merely a day of food and thankfulness after all.

However, celebration at the citadel would be a rather large one. Especially since there was a lot of food to prepare and many mouths to feed. With ingredients laid out on the counter and some of the food already cooking, he approached her.

“Then it is settled!” Elene sets the magazine aside, getting up from her spot before turning to the other. “What do you feel like making today?”

Shokudaikiri thought for a moment before responding. Meal planning was one of his usual things he did, but perhaps he should take a different approach this time. “Hmm.. I haven’t planned anything out yet. I’ll let you choose Master.”

“Sounds like a great idea.” He replied with a nod. Although he was used to cooking for her and not with her, he wasn’t about to turn down the opportunity.

“Would you like me to prepare a meal for you Master?” He asked. Cooking was his specialty after all, and he couldn’t just leave her feeling hungry.

What year was that again? 2025? Elene wasn’t sure, but it felt like ages since she had seen that character.

“Now that I think of it…. I guess that is to be expected…” A small smile soon made its way to her face as the saniwa let out a chuckle. “I forgot that this character is actually a marshmallow man”

“So it really is meant to look like one, huh?”

He was oddly fascinated by what she had to say about modern day things. Especially considering such things didn’t exist during his time as a sword.
