The Essential Disney College Program Bucket List
So after making my own personal DCP bucket list (for the second time), I thought it would be a good idea to make what I think everyone should do (or at least give it the good ol’ college-program try) during their program! So without further ado, here is my Essential DCP Bucket List (no bias at all)!
Challenges:
4 Parks/1 Day
Drink Around the World (if 21+); if not, try Dessert Around the World
Conquer the 3 mountains
Kitchen Sink
24 Hour Challenge or a Photo Scavenger Hunt
Night Show Trifecta (Fantasmic, IllumiNations, and Wishes in 1 night)
Everything Else:
Become a wizard (visit Universal Studios)
Do at least 1 character dining experience
Get a picture on every ride that offers one
Ride every ride/see every show in all 4 parks throughout program
Visit Property Control, Cast Connections, Company D
Visit every resort on property and take a picture at each one
Get a 4 Keys Card
Give another cast member a 4 Keys Card
Buy a pair of ears and have them embroidered
Become a Galactic Hero
Get pictures at each of the park icons
Sample all the drinks at Club Cool
Have your joke read at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor
Get a passport at Epcot (or use the KidCot Duffy’s), and get it stamped at each pavilion in World Showcase
Meet every Disney princess (bonus points if you do it in one day)
Celebrate something with a button
Become a Wilderness Explorer
Take pictures in your costume! Have people visit you at work and take action shots (and do the same for them)
Do a backstage tour/ride something with the lights on
Get pixie dusted
Watch Wishes from a ride (Thunder and Mine Train are bomb)
Meet Mickey and Minnie in as many different costumes as possible
Go to Rope Drop at least once
Dapper Day
Work in as many different locations as you can
So, there ya have it! Did I miss anything? Feel free to add more fun ideas!

Packing for the Disney College Program!
I’m notorious for procrastinating and leaving packing until the last minute. The car we’re taking is small, so I’m trying to plot out what I need to bring. This rambling list probably won’t be helpful for anyone, but if I get what I need in writing, I’m hoping it’ll be easier to not forget anything. :D
We’re going shopping in Orlando the day before check in, so I’ll make a small list at the end of the things I’ll wait to buy until we get there.
Also, some of this are things you need to figure out with your roommates, obviously, because no one needs 6 toasters! Haha
Important Things
I-9 Documents. (I’m probably just going to bring my driver’s license and my SS card.)
A valid photo ID (once again, if I use my driver’s license for my I-9, I’m set.)
A blank check, so I can set up my direct deposit
Car registration
Car insurance (the insurance doesn’t have to be under your name, but it should show you on the insurance. Like, the car is my mom’s, but the insurance will cover me.)
Clothing (vague, because I have no idea what to bring for sure)
Business Casual things (for classes, training, Traditions)
Short sleeve shirts
Tank tops
A handful of cooler-weather clothes (because Florida can, apparently, be pretty bipolar through February)
Outerwear (I don’t really own any hoodies. I have some sweatshirts and cardigans)
Light jacket (do I have any? I don’t know…)
A coat? (Probably not needed for Florida, but we’re driving, and it’s cold where I live, so I’ll probably end up inadvertently bringing one anyway)
Swim suit
Dresses
Skirts
Shorts/capris
A few pairs of jeans
Pajamas
Socks
Undergarments
Tights/stockings
Shoes
Flip flops
Sandals (like, all of them)
Black/White vans
Black flats/small heels (business casual)
Other flats
Boots (despite what people say about it being too hot, I love me some boots.)
Accessories
Watches (Frozen, BatB)
Rings (ring from grandma, flower ring, arrow ring, bow ring)
Necklaces (snowflake, necklaces from grandmas, skeleton key, LM pocket watch)
Earrings (sugar skulls, suns, LM, ballerina, bows)
Sunglasses
Scarves (LM, mint, orange polka dot)
Bags (little black purse, Tangled bag, Frozen bag, Little Mermaid bag)
Bedroom
Bedspread
Sheets (two sets)
Pillow (?)
Mattress pad
Blanket
Alarm clock (though I may just use the alarm on my tablet)
Stuffed animals (Mickey, George, maybe Olaf and/or Baymax)
Once Upon a Time calender
Pictures of friends/family
Fan
Little night light
Bathroom/Toiletries
Shower curtain (coordinate with roommate)
Bath mat (coordinate with roommate)
Towels (including a beach towel)
Toothbrush holder (coordinate with roommate)
Toothbrush & Toothpaste
Those shower caddy things you hook over the showerhead
Soap
Shampoo & Conditioner
Razor
Proactiv stuff
Deodorant
Lotion
Makeup
Face lotion
Hair dryer
Hair straightener
Curling iron
Sunscreen
Brush/comb
Hair ties/bobby pins
Contacts/glasses
Nail polish
Prescription
Lady products
Perfume
Kitchen
Cups (I have a couple plastic Spider-man and Frozen cups)
Mugs
I honestly don’t know, I figure I’ll get a lot of the kitchen stuff with my roomies and/or with my parents before check-in
Electronics
Laptop, & charger
Phone, & charger
Tablet, & charger
PS3? (I want to, since it can play blurays and do double duty)
TV
Camera
iPod
Miscellaneous Things
Books (Amy Poehler’s new book, Mindy Kaling’s book, and several Haruki Murakami books)
DVDs (not too many, but I’m bringing all my OUAT blu rays, as well as Frozen. I figure Netflix/renting can take care of a lot of my movie needs)
Lock for the lockers in the closets
Games (also, not many, but I’m in the middle of a Kingdom Hearts marathon)
Money for the first few weeks
Things to Work with Roommates On (AKA, We Don’t Need 6 TVs)
Router
A lot of the kitchen supplies that aren’t provided
Cleaning products
Toaster
Coffee maker/Keurig
TV (both for room, and in the common living room area)
DVD player
Gaming systems (I think a few of my roomies have mentioned that they have a Wii system)
Buy in Florida
Pillow (this is cross-listed because I don’t know if I’ll just bring my pillow, or get a new one)
Hangers
Push pins (for the cork board in the room)
Some sort of dry erase board calender or something would be cool so the roomies and I could all have a place to put our schedules!
Lamp
Rug?
Hamper/laundry basket
Those little shoe things you hang in your closet
Work shoes
Over the door hook?
Trashcan?
Extension cord?
Storage bin for under bathroom sink
Food
Cleaning supplies
Dish towels
Trash bags
10 days left, so I figured it was time to actually start seriously considering all the things that need to be shoved into my mom’s small little car!
Writing the list was fun.
Packing…well…
I’ll still probably end up waiting until the last minute to do it. :D
(P.S. That’s one of my all-time favorite GIFs…I love Johanna Mason…:D )

DCP Packing List: Things to Bring
My program starts in 20 days and I leave for Orlando in 18 (!!!) I figured it’s probably time to start packing. Let’s see how much I can get there with two suitcases and my carry-on luggage!

Since I won’t have a car and I’m flying down by myself I want to make sure I’ll have as much stuff as possible before heading down. The more stuff I’m able to bring the less I have to buy, plus I don’t know when my first trip to Walmart will be. In suitcase #1 I am packing: linens, toiletries, and shoes!
Bedbug Mattress Protector
Mattress Cover
Mattress Topper
Bed Sheet
Blanket
Comforter
Pillow (totally undecided on this one, we’ll see how much space I have once I’m done)
Towels
Beach Towel
Surge Protectors
Sneakers
Converse
Flats
Flip-flops
Heels
Rainboots
Deodorant
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
Mouthwash
Floss
Face Cleanser
Small Moisturizer
Acne Treatment
Makeup Remover
Small Sunblock
Small Shampoo
Small Conditioner
Dry Shampoo
Hairbrush
Soap
Hairspray
Hair Heat Protectant
Mousse
Anti-Frizz Serum
Razor
Shaving Cream
And how am I going to fit all of that in one suitcase? Space bags, my friends, space bags. I also plan to wear my rainboots on the plane since they would take up the most space. I know it sounds like a lot, but when you look at it all together it doesn’t take up as much space as you’d think!
In suitcase #2: clothes!
Business Attire
T-Shirts
Tank Tops
Jeans
Leggings (long and cropped)
Yoga Pants
Workout Clothes
Sweats
Shorts
Casual Dresses
Socks
Underwear
Bras
Bathing Suit
Pajamas
Jackets (a rain jacket, a jean jacket, and a regular light one)
Sweatshirts
Sweaters
Inexpensive Jewelry
Crossbody Bag
Headbands
I technically get two carry-on items (a personal item and a carry-on) so I’ll be using a purse and a backpack. In those I’ll be carrying:
Makeup (if you’re carrying liquid products on board make sure they’re under 3.4 ounces!)
Hair Straightener
Jewelry (things that I don’t want to risk losing)
Camera
Laptop
Important Documents (I-9 documentation, college information, etc. Things I can’t lose!)
Medications
Chargers/HDMI Cable
Baseball Hat
Book
My MagicBand
My list of things to purchase after check-in will be up tomorrow! See ya real soon!

This was my master packing list from when I moved to Florida for the Disney College Program Fall 2014. I drove cross country from California, so of course if you are flying you will need to revise this list a bit. Good luck, and welcome to the team!

Packing, packing, & more packing!
Hey guys!
Since there’s less than 2 weeks until I leave for my 3rd, yes 3rd, Disney College Program in Disneyland, I figured I should start my planning/packing list. Now being through this twice before, you can pretty much call me a pro at packing and moving across the country.
When I pack, I make 2 definitive lists: 1 of things I need to bring with me, and one of things I can buy when I get there.
If you’re flying, remember, most airlines allow one free bag (Southwest allows two, so I always fly with them) and you get one small carry on bag and a personal bag (purse, backpack - I use a backpack simply for the fact that it’s a bit bigger and way easier to carry).
SpaceBags are your absolute best friend. Since I dorm at school, I already have bedding, pillows, blankets, bath towels, ect… So rather than spending a ton of money buying more, I SpaceBag as much as I possibly can, and trust me, it’s so worth the $20 it cost for a box of 12 SpaceBags at your local CostCo/Sam’s Club. Just remember, if you’re planning on flying, make sure none of your bags are over 50lbs, or you will be charged extra, so make sure you weigh your suitcase when you’re finished packing.
Okay now, on to the lists. Remember, you will be wearing your costume 5/6 days a week, so you don’t need to bring a ton of clothes. YOU WON’T WEAR THEM, trust me. It’s not worth all the extra space.
That being said, here’s my master list/rules of thumb for certain things.
List 1: Things to Bring
ID
Wallet
Money (I bring at least $300 to get me through the first few weeks)
Medicine/birth control
Insurance card
Medical paperwork, if needed
DORMS paperwork
Phone/charger
5 shirts
5 shorts
2 pairs of jeans (nights can get chilly at times)
5/6 camisoles/undershirts (for your costume)
Plenty of underwear. I usually bring enough to last me 2 weeks (14 pairs - in case I don’t have time to do laundry)
7/8 pairs of non work socks
½ pairs of dress pants/slacks or a pencil skirt (for Traditions & class)
Girls, AT LEAST a weeks worth of bras. If you’re working outside and sweating a lot, you’re gonna want to have enough to change everyday, but if you work indoors (like me) I wear mine 2 days because I’m not getting sweaty/dirty - I wear sports bras to work because they’re much more comfortable, and don’t show under my costume.
Bedding, if you have it. Bedspread & sheets (I have twin XL and they fit perfect)
Contacts/glasses
Retainer
½ hoodies
1 jacket
½ pairs of comfy sneakers for walking around the parks
Flip flops
Dress shoes (for Traditions & Celebration)
Nice dress (for Celebration)
Cardigan (to wear over your business casual clothes, the hotel conference rooms where classes are held are always freezing)
Bathing suit
Pajamas
Workout clothes, if needed. Carnegie does have a small gym.
Jewelry (simple and small, appropriate for work/class)
Makeup (neutrals)
Straightener/curling iron
Blowdryer
List 2: What to Buy
Socks for work (you’ll find out what kind you need at Traditions)
Shampoo/conditioner
Lotion
Body wash
Deodorant
Face wash
Pads/tampons
Condoms
Storage bins
Clorox wipes
Bathroom/kitchen cleaner
Tissues
TOILET PAPER
First-aid kit
Paper towels
Shower curtain
Popcorn bowl
Bath mat
Shower caddy that hangs in the shower
Laundry soap
Fabric softener
Hamper
Hangers
Napkins
Bobby pins/hair ties
Trash bags
Lunch box
Toothbrush/toothpaste
Mouthwash
Razors
Tupperware
Ziplock bags
Optional things to bring/buy, but make sure you talk to your roommates!
TV
DVD player
Gaming system
White board calendar to keep track of everyone’s schedules
Laptop/charger
iPod dock with alarm clock (I use mine everyday)
Oven mitts/pot holders
Kitchen towels
Camera/charger
Batteries
I think that’s all for now, hope this helps you guys! Disney here we come!

MY DCP PACKING LIST
This is roughly everything I plan on packing/buying for the program! I’m just doing the fall semester so if you’re doing fall advantage or spring/spring advantage, you can change some things and plan accordingly! Again, this is just some of the stuff I plan on bringing/buying (I added some things other people might use) and it might seem like a lot but it’s just stuff I use on a regular basis. It’s also geared more towards girls since I am a girl but guys can use some of this too I guess! I can also make an apartment packing list since the stuff for the apartment listed below is just the stuff I’m bringing and my roommates plan on bringing more!

5 Ways to Network in the DCP
So you just got to Florida and you started your DCP. You want to network and move on up to the full time. Here are some of the best ways to network and get yourself into that dream job you are longing for.
1. Tell your leaders your dreams and future goals: This is the most important tip! Throughout my college program every class and networking event I attended it was stressed to me to tell my leaders what I wanted to do. If your dream is to be in charge of the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom or to work with pyrotechnics in Fantasmic! let your leaders know this. You never know who they might be able to connect you to and your leaders truly do want you to be successful. Connect with your leaders. Be sure to schedule meet and greets with all of them. Make this a number one priority. After you meet make sure you give them a thank you card and a four keys card.
2. Attend the CPASS Events: 3 CPASS Professional events are held during every college program. Incorporate the three R’s when you attend these Record, Relate, Reserve.
3. Record: Make sure you write down names of the people you meet and their roles. You can with permission use this information to look them up in Roster or as a backup if you have lost their information.
4. Relate: This was taught straight from our DCP Networking class and that’s that the winner in networking is the person who makes a connection. Find a common interest to connect with CPASS speakers or leaders that you meet and talk to them about this.
For example, I was interested in learning more about Character Attendants and talked about how I enjoyed some of the experiences the speaker mentioned. Showing that you were listening and that the information helped you greatly contributes to making a strong connection.
5. Reserve: Ask about a meet and greet. Disney does not shadow so if you go in knowing this you will save time. Simply ask the person you are meeting if you could possibly have fifteen minutes of their time to talk to them. Know when you are available and make it easy for them to meet.
