I've been thinking about The Witcher books and tv show recently. Because half of the things that make Geralt seem cool and edgy in the show just don't exist in the books.
In the show he's always so stoic. Most of his exposition has to be told by side characters implying things and you just have to gage his reaction to decide if it's true or not. In the books however, he gives a full lore dump to anyone who's remotely nice to him.
Random Character: So how've you been?
Show Geralt: Hmmmm.... 😒 😔 😒...
Book Geralt: Terrible actually, thank you for asking. Monster hunting is dying out and I have zero transferable skills. Yennifer's left me again and Jaskier's off god knows where. Overall I suppose it could be worse, but that's the life or a Witcher. Also, my perfectly good leather jacket got ruined in a fight the day after I bought it :(

Jaskier: my legs are sore can I rest them on your shoulders?
Geralt: I'm not giving you a piggy back
*** one week later***
Geralt: wait a second...was that an innuendo??
Jaskier: I have no idea what you're referring to, but knowing me? Probably

I think it'd be really funny if Jaskier wasnt actually fae, he just accidentally convinces people he is by just being like that.
Like to the degree even other fae start to think it and he just has to sit there like "ah yes, I totally belong here."
So, can you let me go now?” Jaskier asked, eyeing the group of men who had captured him.
“Not until you grant us our wish, little fairy,” the leader said with a smirk. “Everyone knows the tales—capture a Fae, earn a wish.”
“You do realize I’m not actually Fae, right?” Jaskier replied, exasperated. “That ridiculous rumor was started by Valdo Marx to get me banned from court performances.”
“Oh yeah?” the leader sneered. “If you’re not Fae, then why can’t you get out of those iron chains?”
Jaskier lifted his bound hands, the iron cuffs glinting in the light. “Because I’m a normal human who can’t break iron?”
He sighed and glanced around the woods, hoping—praying—Geralt would show up soon.

by the way geralt of rivia is actually kind and softhearted under everything that he’s built up and cares very deeply for people in ways that he’s not equipped to express because he’s only ever been taught violence. if you even care.

the director of sirens talking about joey/jaskier:
Jaskier (Joey Batey) is an active comic relief and sidekick with distinctive physicality. How much time and labor does it require to make those elaborate movements? KANG: First of all, thank you for catching those details! We closely examined the actors' performances, facial expressions, and subtle gestures to enrich our characters. Jaskier serves as a fun sidekick, providing comedic relief in contrast to the serious Geralt. We dedicated significant effort to his portrayal to highlight the chemistry between the two main characters and emphasize their differing personalities. Animating Jaskier's comedic gestures was a joyful task, but it required careful staging due to the various types of acting, poses, and expressions involved. We studied Joey Batey's performance of Jaskier in the live-action series because it was truly unique, and we aimed to capture his lively gestures and comedic movements. This involved numerous animation passes, motion explorations, and countless revisions. Through these efforts, we brought Jaskier to life in a way that showcases his humor and depth as a character. I felt grateful and sympathetic towards the animators who worked on Jaskier, as it was a complex task. In the film, Jaskier constantly walks alongside Geralt, who is on horseback. I remember our animators feeling just as exhausted after tackling all of Jaskier's scenes. I wish I could shower each of them with a huge present, just as I wanted to give Jaskier one awesome horse!
