New Years Spell Jar

Manifest everything you want for the New Year!

Gather all of your ingredients. You'll need an empty jar & an incense. I prefer Sandalwood for protection.

A white candle to represent purity and protection.

A coin to bring you luck and prosperity.

You can write wishes/intentions on a piece of paper or bay leaves. If it's multiple, burn them first in your cauldron then add the ashes to the jar.

Cinnamon to draw in money and protection.

Depending on your intention, add salt. White is for purity and protection. Pink is for protection and relationships. Black is to banish negativity and protection.

Black pepper is for banishing negativity and protection from evil.

Basil is used for love, money, and protection. It will help you move forward in a positive manner despite perilous danger.

Rosemary can be used for good health, improve memory, and love/lust.

And lastly, lavender. Lavenders magical uses include love, protection, healing, sleep and peace.

Cleanse yourself and utensils. Don't forget the jar too. Use the incense smoke. Layer your ingredients into the jar thinking of and speaking your intention for each one out loud and imagining it as if it has already happened.

When you're done, put the top on and seal with the white candle wax. You can add twine and a charm to represent what you'd like for your new year.

I like to say a chant or prayer while I do this. A good one for this would be:

Blessed tidings of good cheer

as we see the end of another year

may the new year bring me joy

may the new year bring me hope

may the new year bring me peace

may the new year bring good health

and maybe a little wealth

with love and light ever after

please don't forget the laughter

with harm to none nor return unto me

as i will it so shall it be.

It all depends on your intention.

Here are a few other things you can add to your new years jar:

Egg shells - strength, rose - happiness, all spice - energy, mint - safety, thyme - courage, lemon balm - friendship, holly - protection, vervain - health, coves - luck and sage - cleansing. You can add anything that pertains to your intention/wishes.

Pine cone wish spell

Items needed:

Pine cone, cinnamon, small pieces of paper, candle

1.) write your wishes on the pieces of paper.

2.) roll them up and stick one end in the wax and insert it into the pine cone.

3.) pour the rest of the wax on the pine cone and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Let dry.

4.) on New Year’s Eve burn in your fire to release your wishes into the universe.

Imbolc is the celebration of light, new growth & rebirth. It is the halfway point between yule and ostara.

🦌Herbs/incense: rosemary, basil, cinnamon, sandalwood, blackberry, frankincense, bay leaves, myrrh & vanilla.

🌱Altar: seeds, bells, candles, pinecones & brigids cross.

🪺Spellwork: cleansing, new beginnings, creativity & candle magick.

🕯Activities: cleaning, simmer pots, making a brigid's cross, start planning your garden for spring & nature walks!

Imbolc

Imbolc (also sometimes named "Candlemas") happens between the 1st and 2nd of February every year. It marks the midway point between Yule and Ostara, also known as the winter solstice and the spring equinox It celebrates winter coming to an end, to leave space for longer days ahead, and for new things to happen (since nature has been ''dead'' for the last few months, it is now time for it to "rebirth"!) What to do for Imbolc? Cleansing, planning new things and starting new projects is a great idea! Colors for Imbolc are: white, pale yellow, light green, brown, lavender, pink. Wear them, paint them on your nails, put some on your altar! Crystals for Imbolc are: amethyst, selenite, turquoise, ruby, garnet, bloodstone and onyx, peridot, clear quartz, moonstone. Take one with you if you can! Make plans for the upcoming spring! Be it planning your garden or activities/travels you want to do, make a bucket list, anything that has to do with planning something

Bake some bread, or make some soup! Leeks, onions and potatoes are really good during this time. You can even try this potato leek soup for this sabbat!

Have a cleansing bath/shower

Start a gratitude/mood journal! Try to keep it up for the whole year so when Yule comes around again, you can look back on it and reflect on your year. Collect snow for snow water! We won't have snow around for long now at this time of year so take advantage of it!

Start spring cleaning! Start sweeping out the old energies to welcome in the new ones

Divination! Although I always mention it in every post about sabbats, what is special about Imbolc is that some say it's a great sabbat to try new divination methods, or just not use the one you always use. For example, I mostly use tarot cards, but I have Witches Runes that I might prioritize for Imbolc.

HOW TO WRITE SIGILS

WHAT IS A SIGIL?

A broad definition of a sigil is a two-dimensional design that has particular magical effects.

A sigil can be compared to an encrypted message.

The idea that a sigil is designed to represent is its magical purpose.

Every sigil is a visual manifestation of an intention that it works to fufill.

Sigils might also be referred to as seals.

HOW TO MAKE A SIGIL

To start the process of designing a sigil，think of a current dilemma or goal you are facing.

Imagine how the situation might be if everything were perfect.

Your sigil can not make that happen on its own. Instead of trying to make a sigil to tackle a giant concept, think about one obstacle that is keeping your current situation from being your ideal one.

By choosing a single element for your sigil to target，you have given it a better chance of actually doing something to help you.

TYPES OF SIGILS

Once you've finished your design，consider these ways you can use your sigil.

There are three forms that sigils can take:

Permanent Sigils are made to last for a long time, so that it is constantly working. Permanent sigils should to be recharged if need be. Best for spells that work on a subconscious level，like protection spells.

Destructible Sigils, this sigil is destroyed in some way in order to activate it. The destruction is the burst of energy the spell needs to work. Best for spells that call for a certain event to take place，with energy and action.

Temporary Sigils are created in a form that will naturally wear away over time or a form that is removable. Best for spells that are time based，like a temporary increase of luck or a surge of creativity.

i made a dried orange garland to make my home a little more witchy! citrus garlands are a gorgeous way to decorate your space, as well as bring in the energies of each fruit!

what you need: •citruses •twine •an oven •a baking sheet •aluminum foil •a small nail (or something to poke holes with)

how to: • choose your citruses! you can choose according to your intent or simply according to which ones you like best! for example: orange for joy and luck grapefruit for cleansing and purification tangerine for energy, strength, and vitality i used two oranges, two tangerines, and one grapefruit!

•i blessed and thanked my citruses, but this is by no means necessary!

•slice them horizontally, no larger than ½ inches or they won’t dry properly!

•cook at 200 degrees fahrenheit, on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, for about 4 hours. it’s a long process, i know, but the result is beautiful and your home ends up smelling like an orange grove!

•let them cool, and poke two holes in each

•thread the twine through in the order you want the citruses in

•put your citrus garland wherever you like, i made three and put two on the wall and one in the window so the sunlight shines through like stained glass!

•admire your gorgeous garland and absorb the wonderful energies it gives off!
